Man, I’ve always loved them. But watching the documentary really opened my mind and eyes about how genius their work was. For about 8 hours I felt like I was there with them. And to think it all happened more than 50 years ago…
Lennon holds what I refer to as the "Long A chord", a barred A major with the index finger -sometimes hitting the open E (Bass) string- while holding down the A note with his pinky on the E treble string. 0 0 2 2 2 5 . Then, without moving his index or pinky, he hammers-on a D/A chord using his middle and ring fingers x 0 4 2 3 5. He arpeggiates these two shapes without removing his pinky or index which is difficult. It can be seen on the "Get Back" sessions, including the free clips of the roof top concert. A lesson would be awesome! Cheers.
Great timing Carl! The documentary was so good and can't wait to play this classic! You're right, super fun song to play. You are also the only teacher who shows the double strum on the Am7. Thanks!
Carl! You’re one of the best man. Always accurate. Not only the voicings used but strum patterns and sometimes, even the technique the actual guitarists used to make a certain lick!! Love this channel!!
Great session! Thanks for the insight regarding Sir Paul's modern adjustments, and especially the chord inversions on the "middle eight" with Bb/F and the Dm/A. Cheers!
I’ve only just come across this song and, for some reason, I love it! Thank you for the tutorial and, from what I’ve seen you don’t always put your vocals in but, please continue to do so!!
Good one Carl, GUY'S, GO SEE THIS ACADEMY, THAT'S THE PLACE TO LEARN THE RIGHT WAY, Beginner to advanced, CARL IS THE BEST TEACHER YOU CAN HAVE, WITH THE BETTER SUPPORT ON THE NET, AT LESS GO SEE ALL THE STUFF YOU CAN LEARN THERE,!!
Excellent that you choose to sing along with the picking ,it adds necessary context and it helps that you don't sound too much like James Blunt as others do lol.
This is the track that’s been stuck in my head from the documentary, so thanks for this. Your lessons are the best! If it’s not too late to jump back into the Christmas spirit, would you mind covering Father Christmas by The Kinks? I love that tune lol
Thank You again for all you’ve taught me and again I ask without the slide bar but anything off of National Steel, Colin James, the title track would be awesome.
love carl browns tutorials ,been in bands all my life, but not here to name drop... except carl brown.. he always teaches and that is what i, a bass playing drummer, really appreciate... someone to teach me how to play guitar... my favorite online guitar teacher. give him a chance and you will be glad ya did ! LANEGREYY
Could you please do Would you rather bee or a wasp solo by Gary Moore off of Back On The Streets? Ive been trying to learn by ear but it’s hard as hell.
