Do you have a question about sitting? Desk sitting? Desk chairs? ASK HERE! :)
Any tips for sitting on a chair with no backrest (for example when playing the piano) or sitting on the floor? I often have pain in my lower back when playing piano or sitting on the floor.
@@lisevandalfsen2251 The MOST important thing you can do is to try and maintain a natural, neutral low back lordosis (curve) - meaning don't slouch or try and sit up too "tall"...neutral...bes wishes.
Any suggestions for wheelchair users. I am trying to relearn to walk (with spotting) but otherwise spend the entire day in my chair during post (brain)surgical recovery.
Very clear, simple and helpful video! Makes a lot of sense. I always thought that it was not realistic to ask people to maintain a position throughout the day... The key is to remember to move and change the position. Thank you!
Exactly!
Yess this is so helpful ☺️
Great! Thanks for your comment!
Dr.Saunders, This is just brilliant. Just found your channel yet learnt all the required information within a couple of clicks. please keep making this kind of informative and insightful videos. Thanks a lot and really appriciate.

Very good explanation. Thank you 🙂
Thanks for watching!
👍I just click thumbs up immediately because I can trust your content will be too the point and immediately useful, thanks, Doc!!!
I appreciate that!
Dr Saunders thanks for your video. It was very informative. I have a question, what is your recommendation when we have to use two monitors?
See my reply to your other question.
Hi Dr Saunders, what recommendations do you have if we have to use two monitors? Do you have any video about that?
Thanks for your question...I currently do not have a video about that, however the principle is the same - you best position is your next position - keep both monitors at the proper height (top of monitor at your forehead level) and always try and make sure you are supporting/maintaining your natural lumber spine (neutral) with either a pillow or support...best wishes.
Well watching this made my anxiety spike like hell. Third world country, pandemic, cant find job, depression, sitting all day. Guess ill die or my spine will break before 30s. Thanks doc. Ill try my best.
Trying our best is all be can do...take good care. :)
Dr. Saunders, what’s your opinion on saddle chairs? Should one have it?
They can be ok for some...the most important thing...move more and get out of your chair as frequently as possible...thanks for watching.
What are your advice when it comes to staying active to counter act the effect of to much sitting ive watched some videos that talk about the negative effects of sitting for to long
So is it better to stand up while i use my phone or is it ok to instead use my phone when im sit and if i use my phone standing up do i have to move every 30 minutes?
Every 30 minutes!
Where do u find that footstool at?
Amazon.
Would you have any suggestions for sitting playing piano?
Tough one! Focus on keeping a neutral lumbar spine is the best you can do...which will help contribute to better overall posture while playing...all the best!
@@drjonsaunders Appreciate your videos and taking the time to reply .
What brand of foot rest is that?

Sitting at my desk is not so bad, but when I go to stand up AFTER I’ve been sitting at my desk… that’s torture!
I understand, the best way to combat that is to get up often (hence the water sipping) and/or alternate with a standing position. All the best!
@@drjonsaunders Love the water sipping tip. Win, win!
and look at me...I sit all day for a living and work from home lol :(
Takes some work!
I liked this video until I saw his shoes :(
Indoor flops. Comfy!
