Don’t worry I started a month ago and when I first started I couldn’t even jump once let alone for 30 seconds and now it’s my favourite thing to do. But my point is practise everyday and trust me you’ll get better at it and actually enjoy it
Same here, it took me 1 month to perfectly do skipping for just 1 min without stopping, today i do 3 min straight non stop no issues,hence i suggest u keep trying cuz eventually u will gett it.

2020 Covid! ....Made me kick up work out mode. I always do home workouts vs donating to gym's. Picked up my jump rope, Hula-Hoop(to lite🙈🤣😂) Did not want to buy a weighted one. But never knew there was a wrong way of jumping rope. Also, the length is important, never really noticed the different lengths. I'm 5'5 and just gonna stick with my old rope. Make sure you warm up, stretching and don’t increase jumping too much suddenly. When I knew abt warming up, I didn’t get shin splints for 2months then one day, I did 1k skips extra (from 2,000 to 3,000) and I got shin splints unfortunately.
I just started including jumping rope in my daily exercises and every time I start there is a popping sounds in my neck and I start to get a crazy headache after about 1minute into it. Any suggestions?
Yeah but I have a problem with the skipping, I do a "double skip" and can't seem to stop it, I skip when the rope is at the top of the swing, and then when it passes under my feet. is that wrong, or bad or does it matter?

I’m having correct technique, but I’m still getting shin splints...what is something that I can do?
Make sure you warm up, stretching and don’t increase jumping too much suddenly. When I knew abt warming up, I didn’t get shin splints for 2months then one day, I did 1k skips extra (from 2,000 to 3,000) and I got shin splints unfortunately.
Wear shoes and do it day after a day
I find not wearing shoes with a lot if cushion works. My nike free run 5.0 are my go to, really light weight.
workout your shins by holding your foot in dorsi flexion for 1 minute every day that’s what i did and my shin splints went away in a day
Land on the balls of your feet. Not on your heel. Maybe that'll help
