I see I'm too late in my advice for this game. You'd have to be a real masochist to start with Star Man's nightmare of a stage first! 1. *Stone Man* (LOLCow special weapon, but easiest stage, easiest boss, plus a hidden M Tank) 2. *Gravity Man* (ignore those that says he's hard without the Star Crash. Accuracy of aiming the Charge Shot at Gravity is easier than they think) 3. *Gyro Man* (on the bright side, you get the Mega Man 4 Rush Jet Adapter early on...for whatever that's worth. Real prize is the Gyro Attack) 4. *Crystal Man* (sure, the first half with the Crystal Chutes would be easier with the Star Crash, but I don't find it that much easier. Plus, the difficulty drops a lot after the chutes) 5. *Napalm Man* (the Gyro Attack, Crystal Eye and especially the Napalm Bomb are the three best special weapons in this game, so it helps not to save those three for last that Nintendo Power once recommended) 6. *Charge Man* (easy stage, but garbage weapon from a difficult boss) 7. *Wave Man* (garbage weapon) 8. *Star Man* (most difficult of the initial eight stages, fast boss, garbage weapon, and while the Super Arrow might be somewhat similar to the Jet Sled, it's not as good as the latter, and not really worth the trouble to go after early on) Remember my advice for Mega Man's 6-11 on the 4 comment board.
Thank You for the Upload. Remembers me of my Childhood. Here the 'Charge Kick is Way overpowered similar to the Top Spin from Top Man. My Favorite Robot Master was "Terra!" from Mega Man V for the Game Boy. Maybe You will upload this too ;-) Keep on going and I wish You much succsess!
@@patrickhiller7072 Thank you! MM6 video is in the works for Tuesday, one featuring all 46 nes robot masters, and one more with Wily’s robots. No gameboy planned currently, but will be rebranding a bit shortly to encompass more systems 👍 cheers
Star Man start is pretty much standard due to getting Super Arrow first. I have seen some Gravity and Gyro starts because their patterns are very easy and they can be finished with Buster only. Charge Man can actually be killed faster with Power Stone by pause cancelling. The pause will get rid of the stone animation so you can fire it off faster. Funny thing about MM5, the Charged Buster actually does 3HP damage to EVERY boss in the game. This effectively makes it a secondary weakness to Napalm Man(Crystal Eye does 3HP damage to him), and it actually outdamages the weapon weaknesses on the Darkman Robots Concerning the Darkmans, Beat actually does more damage to Darkman 2, 3, and 4 as well, but due to how erratic he attacks, most people don't use him. Final trick...you can use Gravity Hold on the Wily Capsule to see where he is before he appears.
My robot master order: Gravity > Gyro > Crystal > Napalm > Stone > Charge > Wave > Star Late game bosses: Proto #1: Wave Proto #2: Crystal Proto #3: Gyro Proto #4: Beat Wily #1: Crystal Wily #2: Gyro Wily #3: M-Buster Wily #4-1: M-Buster Wily #4-2: Beat ... with a well timed first attack Beat will fly to the spot where Wily will appear next, and you'll win the fight without doing anything more.
The order I did for the Robot Masters was Star Man>Gravity Man>Gyro Man>Crystal Man>Napalm Man>Stone Man>Charge Man>Wave Man. Interestingly enough, I found Star Man easiest - in both fights - to use Mega Buster on him. Water Wave I found a hint too unwieldy in that fight to use properly against him. Against the version of Dark Man that is weak against it, it worked relatively fine, though. On a side note, Napalm Man was the first time I ever heard the word "napalm" before. Never quite understood what it was until I reached high school and had to do research on the Vietnam War and was horrified to find out the truth. =/
Is it just me, or did the boss theme become less and less imposing as the series progressed...like Mega man 1-4 has music that kinda imparted the robot masters were serious fights...after 5..the themes kinda sounds like "Heres your fight against one of Wily's buffoonish henchmen."
My boss order in Mega Man 5: 1. Charge Man (my all time favorite robot master in mega Man 5 despite the crappy weapon) 2. Wave Man (my 2nd favorite) 3. Star Man (my 3rd favorite) 4. Gravity Man 5. Gyro Man (my 4th favorite) 6. Crystal Man 7. Napalm Man (Vietnam intensifies) 8. Stone Man (Fuck his power stone weapon) I'd start off with Charge Man first because he is Thomas the Tank Engine in the mega Man universe, and Stone Man will be last because his weapon sucks and his boss fight is super easy.
Oh so that's their weakness order. The only one I used consistently was Gravity Man's weapon against Gyro Man and I never bothered to memorized/find the others. MM5 is the one that I have played the least. Never played it on original hardware as a kid. Only played this game through to the end once on the Anniversary Collection. It looks pretty for the 8-bit era of games, but that's about it. It has the weakest boss weapon lineup in the series IMO...especially Power Stone...what where they thinking when they made that terrible weapon...In terms of difficulty, this game is a joke compared to the others, but it did have some neat gimmicks like reverse gravity and super arrow, but overall, this game never really stood out for me in the series. That said, for newcomers to the series, I'd probably recommend this game first to them if they're not that experienced with platform games in general (especially younger gamers). While this is one of my least favorite Mega Man games, it's still a good game IMO and a good way for people new to the series to get into it before playing the tougher ones.
I started with Gravity Man. The Mega Buster made it unnecessary to rely on the weakness of any particular robot.
The Mega Buster in 5 has a powerful charge shot.
I always thought that everyone in the world starts it with Stone Man.

This is my favorite mega man. It may not be the best but it will always hold a special place for me.
When charge man gets angry and fires his special 🎉🎉🎉
Dark Man 2 is weaker against Napalm Bomb.
Charge Kick also works for Dark Man 3.
The alternative for Dark Man 4 would be Power Stone.
Rockbuster here is so overpowered.
It seems as powerful as their weakness weapon.

Oh I like that Wily capsule trick!
My robot master order: Gravity > Gyro > Crystal > Napalm > Stone > Charge > Wave > Star
Late game bosses:
Proto #1: Wave
Proto #2: Crystal
Proto #3: Gyro
Proto #4: Beat
Wily #1: Crystal
Wily #2: Gyro
Wily #3: M-Buster
Wily #4-1: M-Buster

@@civilwildman Damn. maybe they should have rethought using napalm man for that reason exactly.
I do this same boss order. Like to get arrow immediately
Is Dark Man #3 a proto Vile?

5 and 6 are the onlu games I can complete with just the mega buster.
Stoneman is my first traget.

@@gwgux agreed. Definitely one of the easier games in the series, very mid weapons but still fun.
