the part where Jenna goes off on Logan and looks right into the camera made me feel like I was getting yelled at by my mom and my dad was just like "yeah, that too"
I'm glad there's a corner of the internet where this exists. Jenna and Julien, you two are such beautiful humans inside and out. We need more people that aren't scared to have informative conversations with out any BS. Thank you!!
you should really check out christian delgrosso's video, it explains logan paul's view and personality from someone who was a friend of his and also talks about the stupid things that youtube is doing. (im not defending him btw)
I watched it a few days ago. I never really watched Christian's videos due to thinking "all viners were the same" but after watching his video about Logan I have such a different view on him and I subscribed just because of that. :)
it’s been over a year and Logan Paul is still popular, yet UA-cam demonetized this important video by two of the most grounded, mature content creators on the internet. What a sad world.
They only demonotized videos talking about Logan Paul because one, they were embarrassed that they allowed such an inappropriate video make its way onto trending and two, they were paranoid about more advertisers leaving as it was the fourth scandal in a series of 4 scandals that caused the addpocylopse, the others being pewdiepie’s “racism” scandal, adds appearing on pro terrorist and racist videos, and the #elsagate scandal on yt kids. UA-cam also demonetized and age restrictied videos talking about the momo challenge a year later for the same reason, even though it wasn’t even a real challenge kids were doing, they just censored momo because they were paranoid about advertisers pulling out again.
@@theplantprodigy2010 Logan will never going down, they only talk about him for views wow all can make misstakes. Thats why they have not 1 milion views because they aren't so interestent how Logan is. Watch his vlogs now he started to be a really good sry for my bad English
mario098mario I wasn’t trying to bash Logan Paul (if anything I was bashing UA-cam) I was simply explaining why UA-cam demonetized videos talking about him. FYI filming a dead body is a pretty big mistake.
If anyone ever asks why Jenna has managed to last on UA-cam when other channels die, you should show them this. THIS is why I love you and Julian, you're so conscious of not just your audience but your impact on other audiences and creators. You genuinely want the best for others, it's not some moral posturing to make you look good. I count myself lucky every single time you upload a video because you truly make this platform a better place. You and Julian deserve the goddam world, I'm so proud of you.
Why did this comment just make me fucking cry?!?!? Holy shit I'm a baby but that really got to me lol Honestly, I'm really not used to seeing this much empathy, educated minds, kindness, love, acceptance and REALNESS in one comment section so it's really getting me all in my feels 😂You couldn't be more true in what you're saying. These two constantly blow me away!
ranting jenna is my favorite jenna because she rants CORRECTLY. she always has well-constructed, clearly researched and fact-based arguments, she always looks at both sides of the argument, she's willing to call out ridiculousness, and she RESPECTS people, despite their opinions. THIS is how you have a mature discussion. THIS is how change can be made. thank you for being an inspiration, you two.
Katie Badger FOR REAL! Just when I think I can't love or respect them any more because I already do so much, they just keep blowing me away with the people they are.
I took this incident probably more personally than I should have. My mother committed suicide when I was 17. I found her purple body, I did CPR for a long time to try and save her even though I knew she was far gone. Its been 4 years since then and I still see her blue lips when I close my eyes. Logan Pauls video treated the body like an animal in a zoo. He dehumanized that poor suffering man and his reaction was almost as inhuman. It was hard for me to see and I am very upset that he will not suffer any big repercussions. I encourage anyone who is defending him to imagine your mother or loved one hanging from a tree and logan paul joking about their body and uploading it on the internet.
I think we should just take a minute to recognise how hard it was for them to make this podcast. They're speaking up against their employer. They could lose a lot. I applaud their honesty and ethics!
That's why I have huge respect and admiration for Philip DeFranco. He saw this shit show from youtube coming years ago and built an infrastructure where he can afford to say "Fuck you" to UA-cam as many times as he wants.

I think people forget how smart Jenna and Julian both are. Sure, she may cover her face in rhinestones, apply 100 layers of lipstick/spray tan/etc, does at home perms, and many other random things but she is such a respectful and smart woman. Same to Julien. Except the woman part. Lol
I know you had good intentions behind this comment but I don't like your use of the word 'but.' You're saying that /even though/ Jenna does these things, she is actually smart, which implies women who do normally do these things aren't. Nothing Jenna nor any other woman chooses to do with their own body determines how intelligent they may or may not be, and what they're capable of. I'd also like to note that you did not judge Julien by the same coin. Because he is male and to your standards acts 'normal,' you stated that he is also smart, regardless of nothing. You have given Julien a privilege and decided that Jenna only deserves to be put on the same pedestal /even though/ she does things that in your opinion are degrading. I would like you and anyone reading your comment to understand this and realise the sexism and totally backhanded compliment you've just given to Jenna.
Putting other women down to build one up is not ok, because it puts that women down also. Jenna is not smart /even though/ she likes to do things you deem degrading. She is smart because she's human. Because she's herself. Regardless of nothing.
Ashlantis Is it really necessary to be completely offended over absolutely nothing, the OP didn't mean anything bad by the comment and I'm sure Jenna would probably laugh if she saw the comment so just chill out
Wow. Not exactly sure if you even fully read my original comment. How you even thought that the comment was sexist is beyond me. And I’m 100% sure I didn’t even use the word ‘but.’ Julien has completely different content than Jenna. He is a vlogger and not normally a comedian. Jenna is a comedian. Pure and simple. Aside from you saying my comment and that I was being sexist, an outsider might see her content as “dumb/childish/awkward humor.” We as fans know different.
My husband and I honeymooned in Japan. I took off my 2K wedding ring to wash my hands and (if you've ever been in Tokyo, it's so overwhelming and sensory overload) I completely left it on the sink in a store is Akihabara. I realized it when we got home late that night and went to the police station in the morning to try to report it. We ended up having to leave for Kyoto that morning so I figured it was gone. We came back a week later and we decided to check the store. And guess what? Someone returned it. In the US, there's a slim chance of that ever happening but in Japan, crime is so incredibly low that it's unlikely that it wouldn't be turned in. As they mentioned, dark alleyways are incredibly safe, bikes aren't locked up and children ride subways by themselves.their culture is just so so respectful
I have a similar experience- two months into living here in Japan I left my wallet on the train. Absolutely everything was in there. I didn't even have money for the train ride back. Later that day I went to the lost and found in the station. My wallet was there with everything in it. Though my friend did get his wallet stolen here. But the thief took off his apartment key and left that, so that was nice. I guess.
Deladrin 2.0 youll never know why he stole. sick relative, hungary kids, helping another. who knows.he left that key because he likely had moral standards.
megan Mena You’re very very tight. I wrote this a month ago but I’m pretty sure that I was using sarcasm due to the “irony” of it. I actually was thinking along those lines as well. ❤️
Ironic how videos ABOUT Logan Paul are demonetized but HIS videos being absolutely disrespectful and disgusting are put on trending. Yep. Makes sense UA-cam. Good job 👍🏼 😑🤔🤨
of course, he is the current "golden child", YT doesn't want to loose $ on the TV show promo's ya know....sucks completely but hay the program is "learning" (yah right, it's a program, hence has been programmed by a human w/an agenda!)
Sucks for Pewdiepie. I was never a fan of his, but the disrespect of content creators by UA-cam and Yt's preference of Viners and Celebrities is disgusting
They are so pure. Literally, Jenna made a 45 minute video apologizing for buying the wrong fish tank, while Logan Paul writes an apology on his Twitter that he wrote in his note section on his phone. It just shows the difference between a role model and an amazing UA-camr, and internet trash.
I know this comment is over a year old, but you could barely call his apology an apology as well. It was basically him going on and on about how great he is and how great his channel is.
I asked my son to unsubscribe from Logan Paul and he said, “Mom, I’d never watch him. He’s a douche.” I’ve raised a smart kid with a questionable vocabulary. 😁
MeUndies thanks for allowing important content like this to exist when youtube wants to silence it meundies! Which I could buy your products in Australia to support you and j&j
I love watching Jenna get mad, her eloquence and passion is beautiful. Such a good reminder that just because someone likes to be funny and ridiculous in most of their content doesn't mean they're not highly intelligent and compassionate. Love you so much Jenna, I'm a very long term fan and you're still my favorite creator! Julien you're pretty kick ass too =D
Tom Harlock i loved your Logan Paul apology video, you seemed so genuine 😂😂😂 it’s kind of disturbing because you were acting as Logan, who was also acting in his apology, but Logan is so far removed from reality that he doesn’t even know HOW to apologize. Keep up the amazing content mate, we love you 😘
That was my exact response when I started this podcast, I’m so happy you enjoy Jenna and Julien and listen to their opinions through this podcast! Also, I really enjoy your videos and content, good job!! :)
Whenever Jenna gets really passionate about what she is talking about, whether she is excited or angry, the whole room disappears and its just her. Like wow. I genuinely enjoy listening to them because you can tell its SO real. They actually care about the future and wellbeing of UA-cam, other UA-camrs, and their fans. You two are the most humble and selfless content creators I have come across. Thank you for speaking up about this in such a professional and respectful way. Much Love.
jenna and julien are probably the most mature, level headed and logic-minded UA-cam legends. of all the videos, this one’s the best structured, most comprehensive and the level of reprimanding is completely adequate on both ends. absolutely fantastic response. i salute both of you. ❤️
jenna is so fucking intelligent she's both book smart and street smart and its so inspiring that even though she's mad she still is able to give logan real advice on how to fix himself and paired with julien's excellent diction I'm so happy that i am on this platform just so I can watch y'all
Jenna Julien “Demonetised”??? Are you fucking kidding me? Everything about this situation is absolutely unacceptable. UA-cam is playing favourites and turning a blind eye to what the “golden child” is doing. It’s disgusting, and they are so disconnected from the community they created, that I don’t understand what gives these people the right to run UA-cam anymore. If you are going to abuse your creators, then you don’t deserve to be part of the community anymore. How dare you, UA-cam. You are sickening.
Sarah Fuentes If only. But that’d hurt the creators as well. For many people, making UA-cam videos is their job. Boycotting UA-cam would hurt both sides, but I can guarantee you that it won’t be the people in charge who run out of money first. Unfortunately, it’s a losing battle.
Apparently I’m a year late to the party. But it’s unfortunate that this was demonetized when this is their second most popular podcast ever. Jenna absolutely ripped this man apart in the most poised and factual way possible. I can’t believe she didn’t script it because it was so eloquently spoken and passionate and everything she said was spot on. I felt like she was digging into my soul but I can’t believe how smart she is wow like crazy impressed by the both of them
Yes, she's a very smart educated women. I love her. Her drive and her entrepreneurial ability is amazing, her absolutely 100% Natural Born humour and her business acumen is inspiring. She's really an amazing person.
I'm half-Japanese. I grew up going to Tokyo and lived there for a period. I've rarely heard any American tourist talk about the Japanese culture the way you guys did. I'm so grateful you experienced what I love about Japan. I find a lot of tourists go for the "craziness" of Tokyo, but don't see the humble nature of Tokyo and Japan as a whole. Thank you! And thank you for this podcast.
Also, Julien is one of the very few UA-camrs I saw who actually called the forest by its name Aokigahara repeatedly (excellent pronunciation btw) and not just suicide forest. This is a national forest in Japan and yes people do commit suicide there, but that is an incredible shame for the Japanese people. And not a way to address any place. Thank you for respecting Japan even in the small details.
every time I lose faith in what youtube is turning into, I always come back to Jenna and Julien, together and their separate channels to remind me of the pure good that can come out of youtube. ALSO.. JENNA I NEED A HAIR UPDATE!!! YOU LOOK BOMB
This is where Jenna is a role model. She is passionate, well spoken, speaking well thought out, balanced opinions. I admire her for being a genuine person. I wish she could be a motivational speaker. I’m watching this with my 15 yr old son. IHe is agreeing and just said, I agree with her and want to live my life in a humanitarian way. My son had and always been a humanitarian and as a parent, there’s only so much I can proud into his head. But hearing adults saying it and not pounding into their heads makes a difference. I love that my kids watch Jenna and Julien. Good people to look up too and admire. Julien, you are an amazing man. You aren’t much older than the Logan’s and your maturity and the way you live your life is so motivating. You two are an amazing duo that I’m glad exist in this crazy ass world.
Mel Fields Sometimes I forget that Julien is only a few years older than me because he is such a mature, intelligent man. Yet Logan is 2 years older than I am and yet I see him as an immature and obnoxious teenager. Thank you for having such important conversations with your son and providing good role models for him!
I respect you guys so much as content creators on this platform. You both were incredibly eloquent throughout this entire episode and I cannot thank you enough for calling him out
So, I have a cousin who is obsessed with Jake and Logan Paul, and I've tried to initiate discussions with her on some of the more tasteless content they've produced, and she's always ignored me, because I'm just her nerdy, goody-two-shoes, older cousin. But after the video was released, she came to me and said she wasn't going to watch them anymore. She's 11, and she was absolutely horrified by the video. Honestly, sorta proud of her for making that decision on her own power, and hoping that her friends, who aren't acting so self-aware, apparently, don't convince her to start watching him again.
A person that young (or anyone for that matter) should be forcibly exposed to something like that. It is trending and was in the thumbnail of the video. I sincerely hope she will be alright
Jeez, I'm sorry she had to see that- I personally didn't see the video but by the descriptions it sounded horrible and no child should be exposed to a dead body that young.
We are UA-cam aware Parents though. Most parents would have no idea of the content available on UA-cam. Secondly you can watch stuff at a friends place, Nan’s house when she’s babysitting. I mean children will find a way.
morana Lea That was a really mature decision of your cousin to make on her own. She's also lucky to have someone like you looking out for her, keep up the good work. 💕
When Julian was speaking about Logan going to other places and disrespecting them, it reminded me of the time Logan went to my home town (Helper, Utah). He ate at a restaurant called Balance Rock, which was actually my former employer, and was extremely disrespectful towards our town and my boss. He just kept saying how it was like a ghost town, and why would anyone go there, when Helper is currently trying their hardest to build something beautiful and make our little town grow. I have no respect for Logan Paul and never will.
Sometimes after seeing Jenna shave her eyebrows & Julien dress up as Moq, I forget they’re both extremely intelligent, well-spoken people with their head on straight. This was the most insightful and passionate response I’ve seen (along with Philip DeFranco’s). This is a terrible situation, but you broke it down SO well and concisely. Thank you!
Logan's video was disgusting and despicable but to me the most disturbing part wasn't even that it was filmed and put on youtube, monetized or trending, it was his reaction... or lack thereof. It was not a mistake, it was not just an in-the-moment bad decision. It was a reflection of his character. A human being stood in front of another human being whose darkest moments and saddest thoughts led him to take his own life, and Logan thought it made for great entertainment. Just the footage made me so upset I wanted to puke, I can't imagine standing there laughing or cracking jokes.
Umnia it's sick. A lot can't even imagine what it actually feels like to cause a shitstorm like this, until you actually experience death yourself. Now picture someone who can't comprehend what just happened, that's Logan Paul.
Mephistopheles I understand what you're saying because I have family in the military, but to stand RIGHT IN FRONT of someone who committed suicide and is hanging from a tree, FILMING up close, LAUGHING AND CRACKING JOKES, is disgusting. And then, to use it as main content in your video, which is how u ENTERTAIN people. He went in hoping to find someone who had committed suicide. And not to mention the people in the military and who fought in war come back with ptsd. He's been just fine, and his initial apology was basically bragging and trying to defend himself. This is just my opinion, not trying to argue 😊❤
Why did this video get demonetized?? J&J handled the issue like a radio news show, it's really interesting, educational and promotes healthy discussion. Was it because they criticized Logan Paul, UA-cam's darling? Or because Jenna said she hates UA-cam for this issue?
actually she didn't even say she hates youtube. She said she is disappointed in them and wants them to be better. That's healthy criticism, but they just don't give a single fuck
It was demonetized almost instantly. There is no way they had enough time to watch the podcast, I think they demonetized it because the title said Logan Paul
Honestly I think it's literally because his name is in the Title. UA-cam's algorithm is probably demonetizing anything with the Logan's name in the tags or the title.
I’m a parent with an 11 year old who liked Logan Paul. I also have an (albeit small, niche) channel myself and I like to stay abreast of what is happening in UA-camland. I immediately texted my son (he was at his dad’s house) when I heard about this video and we had a long conversation about it. I recommend your podcast episodes about UA-cam issues and Philip DeFranco on the regular to other parents I know, in an effort to get them to pay attention to what is happening online. I have no idea if they actually pay attention though. 😕 Parenting right now is really intense - the parents who came before us have no freaking idea how to manage their kids’ online life, so a lot of us are figuring it out on the fly and it can feel really demoralizing sometimes. End novel. Thank you for your honest points of view, as per usual. ❤️
I'm 28 w/o kids. However my mom who is now 60 had to deal with *the cellphone/computer* age My mom had no idea what AIM was. Or group chats. MySpace came and it was a huge concern. The only thing she could do was keep a way of communication open. She wanted to learn texting so I taught her. She wanted to see what MySpace was so I showed her..eventually it went to Facebook and I got her involved with her HS friends from the 70s It can be a good thing, the unknown. But the line of communication. Should always stay open. I found that when my mom ( she was a single parent at the time as my father passed when I was 6) The most important thing was wanting to learn and understand. She may have gotten mad at me for texting at 1am.. And she did get upset when I was on the computer until midnight... But instead of taking things away, she asked why. Why do you use the computer at odd hours? What do you get from it that you don't get from me? How does this help you in ways that I cannot? It helped her understand and feel like she had some control over the progression of technology while also allowing me to be myself.. Today kids are dealing with the same thing.. So keep the lines of communication open. Ask them what they get out of watching these videos that they don't get from other interactions. There is learning in this, for everyone of all ages. Seems like you are well aware of today's society and social media. That's the best you can do. Keep doing the best you can do, And it will matter. .
I'm 28 w/o kids too, but I'll reiterate the talking to your kids thing. My parents gave us a lot of freedom when we were teenagers. No curfew, very few rules, no blocked sites or movies we couldn't see. But we had a family gathering every night where we just talked about the stuff that was going on in our lives or the world and how to handle it. Sometimes these meetings were 10 minutes, but other times they were 2 hours long. My 3 siblings and I never rebelled and are all fairly successful, and we all attribute it to those gatherings.
Cindy Guentert-Baldo I have an 11yr daughter myself I consider myself lucky that I am on UA-cam to know about these things and grateful my daughter is smart enough to hate him lol
Cindy Guentert-Baldo I would like your opinion because you seem very wise I want to share this on Twitter and tag both the Paul brothers which I would doubt they would see my tweet but I want them to and I want them to watch this video and realize what they are doing. So should I? Just like share the video on my Twitter and just tag them and say “I would like you both to watch this whole thing and hear what they have to say and take something out of it” should I?
Anyone else get recommended this video in 2020 and was just reminded of how grounded, mature, well spoken, and brave these two humans are? I hope they’re both doing well, especially Jenna right now. I feel she deserves that.
I just cant believe I used to watch Logan Paul, I literally can remember the exact day I was emotionally traumatized by the video I was 12 and now being 15 hearing it being spoken as they are speaking about it now that I understand how wrong it was gives me peace. idk if that's jus me but yeah
Jenna, you are such an intelligent, thoughtful, and well-spoken person. As a 22 year-old who has no idea wtf she is doing on this planet I just want to say you give me hope. Please keep doing what you're doing
What bothers me the most is that if a suicidal person watched that and saw him laugh and joke around they might be like " wow people aren't going to care if im gone maybe i should do it"
No don’t. Please seek help. I understand that going out and telling people about your situation must be difficult, but please don’t do this. Look for someone to talk to. Anyone just talk. A bunch of people will care if you took your own life. I don’t know your scenario, and I know you’ve probably heard this a lot, but please don’t do it. There is always a way.
honestly round of applause for this comment section for being so educated and empathetic and just no trolls or stuff like that. you guys all rock. rarely see so many well meaning and well mannered people in a comment section before.
JupiterMarz This comment section is full of genuinely interested people sharing their opinions on the topic- how it should be and I'm enjoying reading them.
tbch it’s probably because most of Logan’s defenders and audience are very young so they probably can’t cope to watch such a long video therefore can’t make a fuss about it (before anyone takes this the wrong way I’m not hating on the fact they’re young im just pointing out the stats)
yo im legit crying, the reason why jenna is still after all these years one of the top youtubers is bc aside from being a memelord she is a genuine good person who is intouch with her emotions and its actually mature, so i've always look up to her and listen to these podcasts while doing other stuff bc i think her ideology always shines thru these conversations and im fucking crying over that subject they spoke about of how money wont make u happy if youre not happy beforehand, it felt like my mom whenever she is teaching me a lesson (im latino) i come from a very poor family, growing up a good day was when we had even a full meal to eat so the thing to reach for was always money, money to be able to rent our own place so we didnt have to sleep at an aunt's floor out of pity and money to be able to feed ourselves, i lived frustrated and stressed 24/7 not bc i was ungrateful but because i know my mom was hurting everyday for not being able to give me and my sister a comfortable life so that used to upset me bc i couldnt do much to help her. money became the only thing on my life to the point i completely lost everything else, i was very young skipping school to go do small jobs and evn when we were grown and our financial status got better and stable i still was only focused on money, didnt make friends didnt want to go college, just work work work... and i kept wondering even like a year ago when we had all the basics to live i was still empty, because i didnt fucking had anything besides that, when payday came i was happy but after paying all the bills my happiness faded because it depended on something as elusive as money. i know it sounds cliche but is not like money is gonna make u miserable but if its the only thing you want, youre gonna live a life going up and down because money aint a stable thing, así como viene así se va (as my mom says) (the same way it comes, the same way it goes)
I’m so glad to see how much of the dink fam are actually normal human beings that can very clearly see the difference between right and wrong. I love the community y’all have created and y’all should be very proud of that. Ya we can be a little crazy, over the top and nassssty sometimes but at the end of the day everyone in the dink fam is respectful and so nice, I have yet to meet a single rude person around anything y’all create and I don’t believe I ever will. ❤️❤️❤️
I’m a dink from a foreign land and I am so thankful for Jenna, Julien and the dink fam for the perspective and discussion. Honestly before watching these podcasts I never constructively thought about YT as to what it’s doing, its intention, and what to make of it. I’ve never seen Korean youtuber discussing YT as a platform let alone criticize it. I don’t have a twitter account and so this is pretty much where I get the news from. Anyhow, I just wanted to say thank you all and am so proud to be part of the dink fam.
Damn. This part is deep: Jenna: *...They've forgotten how to be a person. If you're running any other business, people come first. You need to have good people. If you're working with a bad person or bad people, it doesn't matter how great it is whatever you're making - you have bad people around you. People first in the sense that you're putting yourself first, your morals first. He's completely lost track of everything that's not content. Because if people came first, you'd get yourself in that situation and be like omg this is not content, this is not ok. But he's in the actual thick of that where it's like everything is content and I have now lost myself as a person. I know we hear about these stories, people who have sold their soul to the devil for fame and success.. if you took that as a loose interpretation, something like this is an example of that. You have forgotten who you are as a person, or what even makes a human being a human being..*
seriously jenna made me look to people differently. she inspires me on so many levels. she is so nice and respectful even when you think the person doesn't deserve this much respect.
Kahtastrofee me too! i've learned so much from her just being her true self.. i respect her so much she can glue anything to her face and i'll still respect her😂
The fact that UA-cam takes down videos of SimplyNailogical peeling some nail polish off but didn’t take down the video of a dead body being filmed is very confusing.
When you speak about Japan, it really resonates with me. I live and work in Japan currently, and have called it home for 2 1/2 years I'm not fluent, but conversational in Japanese and have met some amazing people. It's a great country, with loving people. One thing I saw a lot with people defending Logan was that Japan doesn't know how to laugh. I was SO frustrated and even offended by that comment. Japanese people LOVE comedy. They love irony and silly things, just go to the 100yen store and look at the party things. There's a comedy show near my work and I watched a TV show that involved a panel pranking 150 different celebrities all over Japan and it was HILARIOUS. They love a good joke. But the jokes all are respectful and light in tone, no one would be offended by someone handing them an ice cream cone randomly while they're on the phone (it was a funny segment about how Japanese people will take anything you hand them when they're on the phone). And the music group World Order has made its entire shtick a tongue-in-cheek commentary on Japanese business men and their seemingly robotic nature in a fascinating and, more often than not, funny way. I was back home in the States due to a family emergency when the video came out. And I could only think about how people may react to me differently when I returned. So far, nothing has really changed. Which is good. But I did get a few more looks than I had before.
I currently live in Japan as well, and when I first saw a clip of the Japan vlogs, the first thought that came to me was, "I hope this doesn't feed into the "stupid gaijin (foreigner)" way of thinking that some conservative (and usually old) Japanese people have". I don't think it did, since most people in Japan don't understand English enough to watch videos in English. However, the fact that Logan Paul completely misrepresented not just Americans but foreigners to Japan in general does not change. Logan Paul's behavior was definitely not funny or humurous in any way, and if his viewers are watching that and thinking that it's completely okay to act that way, Logan and his fellow business whatevers need to realize and change their ways immediately (although I know that happening is very improbable). Sorry I'm a little bit late to the conversation btw
Jenna’s little rant about Logan selling his soul to the devil is so vital. It is what this discussion needed. Her degree and her understanding of what it is to be a person and be on this platform really shows. I’m so grateful for this video as someone who has struggled with suicidal thoughts. I was so hurt that Logan’s video exists so having Jenna vocalize how I’m feeling was so healing.
I hope you're getting support or you had support on suicidal thoughts. You are strong and can definitely beat that dark corner. Stay strong fellow UA-cam citizen! :)
I think this is different. Moq was an obvious character that is separate from the UA-camr Julien. Their point is that people get caught up in a character that they portray as themselves which is how this happened. Logan and Jake are so focused on creating their content that they have lost all sense of decency. Jenna admits she did ham up her earlier videos.
“You can let go of the act.” Seriously though, look at Shane. He got big on that shock factor humor, then looked at himself and went “I can’t do this anymore.” He stopped. He’s living as his true, genuine self, and he’s still successful on this platform- but more importantly, he’s happy. I think the Paul’s could learn a lot from that.
“He’s completely lost track of everything that isn’t content.” 👏 damn. Also her talking about people not being infallible and the importance of discussion and being able to like someone and question them is incredible. You guys are so mature and thoughtful and hands down the best youtubers in this platform.
Jenna defintely using that masters degree in Psychology today! I'd love to hear more of her like this. She has amazing emotional intelligence. The part where she talked about selling one's soul actually got me a little teary eyed!
Eva Lore seriously same. I feel like I have become the stereotypical lawyer she mentioned that just throws themself into their work and I really need to make a far greater effort with my family & friends! Jenna&Julian are so incredibly wise and #goals in so many ways.
same! the lone wolf part, feel personally called out lmao it's a good rant but also like gurl... i know i'd be way happier if i didn't have to worry about bills so lmao (which wasn't the point of the rant aha)
You felt overwhelming guilt for endangering fish. He laughed and mocked a hanging dead body, then gave a selfish non-apology all while defending his actions. That's the difference between genuinity and bullshit.
For me, Jenna, and other entertainers who started out at the same time, are the reason why myself and millions of other people even started using UA-cam. You made YT a viable platform for entertainment and for making various levels of living. YOU are the reason UA-cam is a success. We follow YOU and other entertainers across all the other platforms they exist on. If UA-cam went under and you continued your career on another platform we would be right there supporting you and cheering you on. Our loyalty is not to UA-cam the company or brand, but to those of you who have built this new generation of entertainment online. Never be afraid to speak out or "bite the hand that feeds you." Cause you should know that if you ever needed support, you bet your master's degree having - space hooker - turtle backpack wearin' - BYE SPIDERMAN - ass we gonna buy all the things you make and watch all the ads on all your shit. Been here since the beginning and will be here till the end.
“If you weren’t happy before money, you won’t be happy after money” and “and if all you want in life is money, you’ll get it and nothing else” geez you guys are amazing quoters.
Also, Jenna, I would love love love for you to do a video on your education views and why you push it so much, especially as a content creator. I'm a student and I often forget why I work so hard. thanks love yall.
I'm not being rude because I've already been through college and experienced this. I'm a little bit older. I just have to say it's so expensive to live in the world today so it's really important that you can a really good degree so you can get a good job to make money. Money isn't the focus and they say money can't make you happy but it can sure relieve a lot of stress if you're making a good paycheck and you can provide the things you need for your life or for your family. But even above the money do something you love and if you're not loving your schooling pick different schooling but go to school. It would be really hard to make good money on a job that is unskilled labor. And again I'm not saying money is everything but it's so expensive to pay rent or mortgage, your phone, your electric bill, or gas bill, your car repairs, your gas for your car, your food, your clothes, your toiletries Etc. And us older generation always want the younger ones to do better than we did not have to struggle as much.
Tracy Z Right, and I agree with all of that. thanks for that input, but I think Jenna has such a unique perspective because of her current job on UA-cam, and that is more the perspective I am looking to hear as I would like to one day lean more towards the unconventional job. She obviously does not use her degree in a conventional way, and is extremely successful. I just often wonder why she advocates for education so much given the unique path her life took. And UA-cam is not the only way people end up not using their degree, especially in the age of things like social media marketing and the Internet in relation to business in general, there are so many unconventional ways to go that do not necessarily require a specialized degree like engineering or law or whatever. I would just like to hear her perspective and I value her opinions since she is often so well spoken and genuine and speaks from experience!
I really appreciate you guys considering the Japanese side of things during this discussion. I'm someone who has studied Japanese extensively in college and has lived abroad in Japan, and watching this whole shitshow play out felt especially, personally despicable knowing intimately how respectful and polite Japanese society and culture is.
I lived and worked in Japan and I'm so glad Jenna & Julien spoke about the Japanese side of things. Logan Paul had been acting like a racist idiot from the moment he set foot in Japan. It's obvious he treated the "foreigners" like objects for his amusement. I really hate UA-cam's actions of supporting that racist a-hole and demonetizing anyone who criticizes Logan Paul (including Jenna & Julien!)
Had to pause this video and call Amazon to cancel my son's order for the Logan Paul T-shirt, I asked him ( after discussing the problem with his actions) if he still wanted the shirt, and he said yes, but now I'm realizing he doesn't need to be a billboard for someone like that, especially right now, so I'm thinking just a plain old UA-cam shit will be just as cool , he's 13 , I think I made the right decision now. It's difficult being a parent of a teenager in these times with internet, and trying to keep a line drawn but not be controlling and trying to keep a good relationship but also teach and guide .
I hope so too, I always try to explain everything to him , and I'm kinda vulgar about it, but I always say , I'm just telling you like it is because the world isn't going to sugar coat things for you and neither will I, and even if I get mad and freak out on him over something, I later apologize then explain why I was upset and so on, I wish more parents did this. I try my best, I won't stop him from watching what he wants but I discuss what's wrong with certain things and why and make sure he knows and make sure he can tell me what's wright and wrong with things so I know that he understands rather than just me telling him. I don't want to deprive him or tell him no when they will do what they want anyways, I just make sure he has a good head on his shoulders and a good understanding, and that's all I can really do.
As someone who is currently dealing with the aftermath of suicide, I have never felt so disrespected in my life. I couldn't make it through the video. That was posted almost 3 months since I lost my best friend. People either forget or don't realize that there are people that are left behind that have to deal with this situation. Someone I've known for 10 years, who my mother considered a child, felt so lost and sad that they needed to take their life and we had no idea she was hurting so badly. It hurts to see someone disrespect the struggle people who commit suicide go through. And the people left behind who love them go through on a daily basis. It is truly hell. I genuinely thank you both for speaking out on this topic. The world needs more people who care this much.
Skyler Wallace hey you posted this nearly 2 years ago and I wanted to check in with you. I hope you’re doing ok. Remember that no matter how you choose to cope with the grief, your emotions are valid. I’m so sorry for you and your friend’s family and friends. It’s truly terrifying to think anybody could be suffering in silence. Keep going, you strong, amazing person. Love you! Dink dink ❤️
Very serious topic and I look forward to hearing both your thoughts but first i gotta say DAMN JENNA STARTING 2018 LOOKIN LIKE A SNACCCC DEM TAPE IN EXTENSIONS COMIN THRU GURL YOU LOOKIN 2018 HOT
Can I say it? UA-cam let that video stay up and let the apology video trend for so long because the scandal made national news and UA-cam turned a blind eye so they could cash in on the publicity. They let us down for the almighty dollar and yet they're holding you to strict standards W... T... F...? I feel really let down as a viewer. Your content makes me comment too much. And just leave the door open, we don't want the cermet to cry and Peach, she's a natural. Marbles is OG
It never would’ve been taken down at all if it wasn’t for the negative outcry. His fans loved the video and it got tons of views so UA-cam definitely turned a blind eye until they couldn’t anymore.
If it's on mainstream media, it attracts more attention. If new viewers view this video, they are exposed to advertisers which is where UA-cam makes money. I will have to wait until they release their quarterly reports to provide you with evidence, but it's basic economics. The more viewers see advertisements, the more money they make. I used to click on news stories about UA-cam that sounded interesting. Now I'm a viewer. I also go to the creators and find affiliate links so that UA-cam and the creator makes money. Does that count as evidence? I assure you I am not that unique, there are millions out there just like me.
I'm a mom and my daughter was a huge Logan Paul fan. I asked her about the video when it first came out and she said she unfollowed him as soon as she saw the thumbnail and title. She even pulled up her subscription list to show me. If a 12 year old sees that then an adult should have known that it wouldn't have been ok.
Thanks guys. I am super proud of her. I just wish that some of these youtubers remembered that there are a lot of kids looking at them and emulating them. They have to do better as people not just role models.
I just want to make this comment before I get further in the podcast and forget: I really like Jenna's point of view on what she does and doesn't admire in a hard-working person. I'm a university student hoping to get into law school, and I'll be honest, I'm really hoping to be able to make a lot of money. In recent months I've been really focused on this goal with mostly the idea of an interesting, lucrative career in mind. But if I really think about it, it's not the money I'm after. I want the money because I want a house big enough to host friends and family, I want enough property to let my greyhounds run around, I want to be the first person in my family ever to get a university degree, take it and run with it and be successful. But I definitely don't want to be the lawyer who drinks heavily and throws herself into her job and nothing more. Yeah sure it's sappy but Jenna made me kinda put a name to my goal, which is to be successful but to use that success to have a balanced life filled with the people I care about. Keep on being wise Jenna! We love ya!
I love this! I always hear people say "I love money" and that it's their goal so I automatically think "here we go... This idiot..." Until I ask them to speak more on it and they always say really noble things like supporting their family, being able to donate more, to start a business that helps others, etc. And I realize that they're not selfish or bad people. I think it's just really hard to put a name to a goal like that and it seems like money is the simple answer.
I love that you touched on having a conversation in the sense of actually teaching people why things are wrong and why it’s not ok. Get people to think about the content they take in. Maybe they’ll keep watching, but please just talk to your kids/family/friends. Be aware of what your people are watching.
going off title, it’s INSANE to me how a video titled “logan paul” gets demonetized faster then logan paul’s video titled “WE FOUND DEAD BODY IN SUICIDE FOREST” gets taken down
Don't get me wrong, I love the podcasts playing cup games and such. But by far my favorites are ones like this where you guys address shit going on in the world and especially this platform. Not even that its enjoyable to be in the situation where this conversation needed to be had, but just the fact that I respect your opinions so much and it's a window into the part of the world that we wouldn't see otherwise. As someone who has found my niche in gaming and aspires for my voice to be heard, I am so disappointed and disheartened that this is where the platform is going. I'm at the point where I just now know exactly what I want to create and now.. Thank you both for making this. The fact that you are genuinely voicing your opinions and having this conversation just instills more confidence that we still have creators with their heads on straight. Jenna, I've been watching you from the start and it is INSPIRING to see the evolution of your channel and you as a person. It's been a journey that has influenced my life and vids like this just affirm that I'm along for here haul
I feel like people forget how intelligent and compassionate jenna is. Hell I do sometimes. She has such a diverse personality but it’s been in the best ways. She’s hysterical and has flashy sides but remains respectful to others and herself. She’s the best of all worlds imo. I have SO much respect for her
I have a G rated craft channel.... and get demonetized almost every video.... Logan Paul shows a dead body, and hes on the trending page. UGH! Seriously youtube... get your ish together!
I am not very smart with how all of this UA-cam adsense stuff works but I find it weird that channels like yours and let's say Philip defranco (even the podcast but they swear a bit more often and play adult games which I am all about but it wouldn't work for my argument) constantly are demonitized but yet on UA-cam Red Orginals the have some pretty riske material and language and yet UA-cam literally pays them to do It! Like some of the stuff in "foursome" can gross me out and rub me the wrong way mind you I am a prude but fuck! Doesn't make sense.
I could be wrong, but I feel like I remember YT putting out a statement that they were no longer going to monetize creators with less than 100,000 subs, though don't quote me on it. Which is pretty shitty and I'm sure makes a lot of people kinda feel like why bother starting a channel and putting extensive work into it if they're not going to be compensated. What I do know for certain, however, is the current system is clearly broken and needs to be fixed, or like you said in a separate comment, people are going to start going elsewhere for entertainment. And that includes both creators as well as viewers. Unfortunately, though, the only way to get them to listen is with our pockets. That's how we have to vote otherwise they'll just continue to ignore us. We have to, as a community, stop watching the videos of problematic people and not pay for YT Red. It's the only way anything will ever change. Change starts with us.
They're right. Logan acted that way because he looked at the people of Japan as lesser than... I recognized it immediately when I saw his video because when I was younger I considered anyone different the same way. I know it's terrible- & I AM NOT defending him or myself for that matter- I grew up in a different time & in a racist family & in a town that had zero other ethnicities. But by the time I was his age (probably even younger tbh) once I was old enough to get myself out into the world, I realized I was terribly wrong & that it wasn't ok & that EVERYONE is equal. Bottom line he's old enough to know better. Even when I was a young teen I NEVER would have thought filming a dead body was ok in any way shape or form let alone circulating it.
Honestly, good for you for being humble enough to own up and courageous enough to put this on YT as a comment! I'm glad you were able to grow up a bit and effect change in your own prejudices/wrong mindset!
He's a white american dude. Of course he's racist. He looks like it, he sounds like it, he acts like it. He indeed is and he needs to be called out. I hope this ends up his career. I'm sick of rich white boys like PewDiePie still being in this platform like nothing they did ever happened.
Okay this is random but this was so weird I was reading your comment and exactly when Jenna said "it's not okay in any shape or form" I was reading that part of your comment
One thing I hate hearing is when people dismiss his actions because of his age. "He's only a kid, he's 22" Like 'scuse you but as a 22 year old, no that shit is not okay. That is not a mistake you make because you're young. Myself and most other people our age would never dream of doing the things he does, he is just not a decent person.
I don't know what you think I meant before. I'm saying that his age isn't an excuse. What he did wasn't a symptom of being a young adult, it was him being a horrible person. What did you think I meant? I thought I managed to word it pretty well. Compared to my usual wording, that is.
Sorry I was agreeing with you! Didn’t mean for it to come across like that! I was just agreeing that saying “he’s 22” isn’t an excuse for his actions because not all 22 act like that
Oh Sorry! No that was all me be a presumtous idiot! I'm so used to only getting arguments back and also assuming that I worded something wrong that I just projected mt experiences on to you, i'm so sorry!
The reason people discuss his age isn't because being 22 makes it excusable, it's because at that point a person is still maturing. Yes there are loads of individuals that are 20+ that are matured because they've had hard life lessons at a younger age, but there are loads that also haven't. At 22, living a very privileged life and making videos that very clearly display an extremely immature young adult, it's a safe bet to say Logan hasn't had those same life experiences that teach people maturity. His actions aren't excused by his age, it's just a way for people to point out that he's still at a point in life where he hasn't learned to be a mature adult. He's likely never known or experienced the type of loss associated with a death, let alone a suicide, and doesn't understand how devastating and painful it is, so he doesn't immediately think to be sensitive about it. No, this doesn't mean what he did was okay, but it is an explanation that should be heavily considered when deciding whether or not to forgive him. IMO a part of maturity is also recognizing immaturity in others and instead of saying the person is a horrible human that will never change, recognize that they are still young and learning and allow them a chance to grow. It's up to every individual whether or not to forgive his actions, but insults no longer help anyone.
The part where Jenna is talking about "you already have the attention of so many...just calm down every once in awhile and be yourself" Kind of thing. People already like/love you. Just be a person and live your life.
My younger sister is a Logan Pauler or whatever "Logang" and has purchased merch - the whole shebang. I tried talking to her about it and his crap excuse for an apology has her actually believing he "didn't know how to react". I'm very concerned about the following that stuck with him because they now think this behavior is okay. Parents who don't monitor their children should be going research and try to guide, and idk PARENT THEM??? This situation had me frustrated because I've had personal experiences with suicide, and while I don't wish that on anyone it helps to have perspective. I agree that some youtubers/vloggers have been consumed by the black hole of entertainment and their minds have now clouded the line of right/wrong. Thank you for this video, I will be sharing with my family & sister hoping she can understand and reevaluate her decisions of watching him. Also - I have a basketball game tooooomorroww.
Some kids in my class (I’m a senior in high school) made the same argument to me that he didn’t know how to react. Which I believe is true, but he could’ve edited that out. He should have turned the camera off the minute they saw the body and should have at least not shown the body or talk about it like that. That body was not a prop, it was someone’s father, husband, friend. I also said,”what if that was your father or your grandfather? How would you feel?”
Tell them to imagine if it was someone they knew and had loved hanging there. That he might have had kids. That he's an adult and he should know better.
Parents should absolutely monitor their kids!! Oh my god the amount of parents who just... don’t is disturbing. Example my son is only four (almost 5) but I will put Netflix and stuff on for him and there are shows he’s picked before that I’ve let him watch but I’ll watch it too if I’m not familiar with it and after a bit I’ll decide if it’s appropriate or not. Like there was a show that seemed kid friendly but when I watched it properly I was like mhmm no not for my 4yo and he was saying inappropriate things. So I told him he can’t watch that now, maybe when he’s older but it’s not appropriate. I let him pick the things he watches but I limit his choices to things that are appropriate - Disney movies, kids tv shows I am familiar with or that I’ve seen enough of to judge whether it’s appropriate. We let him watch a Jurassic Park movie because he LOVES the Lego Jurassic world stuff and first we showed him the trailer and he wasn’t scared so we let him watch it and watched it with him. But I monitor it all and make sure it’s ACTUALLY kid friendly. I am really scared of what’s going to happen when he’s older and works out how to use the internet. You better believe I’m gonna be monitoring the shit out of that and if things are having a negative effect then yeah nah I’ll put my foot down. You have to sometimes! Sometimes as a parent you just have to say sorry this is not okay to watch - and explain why so they understand. I like my kids to be happy but I’m not going to just let them do and see whatever the fuck they want so they’re ‘happy’. They need to be taught what’s right and wrong and what to support and not support and when they’re old enough then hopefully they can make good decisions about what content they consume etc.
Anyone else feel like there was more outrage and action taken by parents when they found out their kids watched "13 reasons why" than with this situation? Apparently depicting adult situations in a show is crazy but a real life suicide victim's body is fine.
This is so fucking real. The best part about 13 reasons though is that people, especially parents, were allowed to make a stink of it and it sparked so many conversations. Selena Gomez, the actors, and everyone involved acknowledged that response and welcomed those criticisms and conversations. And to Jenna’s point, we in our communities need to keep those conversations going especially to those who are young and impressionable, when UA-cam is seemingly blocking it.
I think parents aren’t as involved in their kids internet use as they should compared to Netflix . Most people typically see the internet as a need, so they forget the damage any website can do. UA-cam to a lot, is either educational or stupid entertainment for kids; nothing in between.
I think it's like Jenna said though, most parents don't know what youtubers their kids are watching so they have no idea of Logan's video even existing, let alone if their kid has watched it or not. Whereas 13 Reasons was all over the news.
Around the time when I was a newborn, my dad had to travel to Japan multiple times for work. Later in my life (About 11-12) I became very invested in the culture. My dad told me that he'd stayed there for work. I absolutely loved it. He began telling me how much the government trusts and respects their citizens. How much they respect each other. How much the citizens are trusted to not commit crimes. And they don't. (It obviously happens sometimes, but ya know what I mean.) He told me, the only place that there are lots of cops, is Tokyo. This is because it's a huge tourist spot. The ONLY PLACE where there swarms of cops, is where there are many American tourists. If that doesn't open up your eyes to this US bullshit, I'm not sure what will.
aaaaaand demonitized
Jenna Julien Yesss
dink dink demonetised, rip
YO FR nooooo
I'm so upset about this
Jenna Julien wtf UA-cam you guys are speaking the truth...can you say CENSORSHIP
the part where Jenna goes off on Logan and looks right into the camera made me feel like I was getting yelled at by my mom and my dad was just like "yeah, that too"
Maris
Me too except this time I agreed with mom
@@geekwithglasses2897 Lmao True.
Maris hey omg ive loved your channel for like 4-5 months and its so cool to see that we love the same people
i felt this
Yass get it Jenna
I'm glad there's a corner of the internet where this exists. Jenna and Julien, you two are such beautiful humans inside and out. We need more people that aren't scared to have informative conversations with out any BS. Thank you!!
you should really check out christian delgrosso's video, it explains logan paul's view and personality from someone who was a friend of his and also talks about the stupid things that youtube is doing. (im not defending him btw)
A fucking men dude
Ricky Somborn I think this might be the best comment I've seen about this whole topic. I applaud you 👏☺
I watched it a few days ago. I never really watched Christian's videos due to thinking "all viners were the same" but after watching his video about Logan I have such a different view on him and I subscribed just because of that. :)
This is the internet I signed up for!!
it’s been over a year and Logan Paul is still popular, yet UA-cam demonetized this important video by two of the most grounded, mature content creators on the internet. What a sad world.
True, it's disappointing 😔
Very
They only demonotized videos talking about Logan Paul because one, they were embarrassed that they allowed such an inappropriate video make its way onto trending and two, they were paranoid about more advertisers leaving as it was the fourth scandal in a series of 4 scandals that caused the addpocylopse, the others being pewdiepie’s “racism” scandal, adds appearing on pro terrorist and racist videos, and the #elsagate scandal on yt kids.
You and Julian deserve the goddam world, I'm so proud of you.
sardonic yess
sardonic my thoughts exactly. Thank you for putting them into words
SAY IT AGAIN FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK
Your comment sums up my thoughts perfectly ♥
Katie Badger yes girl I agree🤗
I think people sometimes forget that she is incredibly intelligent. She does silly stuff but she's by no means stupid.
You're absolutely right. She has a Master's degree. That isn't easy.
isnt the masters degree psychology no less?
Aleah Rippeon I'm so sorry
Im so sorry. My heart breaks for you. 🙏 You are stronger than you know.
How kind ^^ Thanks xoxo
I'm really really sorry for your loss, well said. X
I'm so sorry, my condolences
I think we should just take a minute to recognise how hard it was for them to make this podcast. They're speaking up against their employer. They could lose a lot. I applaud their honesty and ethics!
That's why I have huge respect and admiration for Philip DeFranco. He saw this shit show from youtube coming years ago and built an infrastructure where he can afford to say "Fuck you" to UA-cam as many times as he wants.
well said, never thought of this!

Honestly they shouldn't even have to talk about it, because UA-cam fucked up and let that video get posted.
Jenna has a masters in Psychology, I never forget how smart she is
My husband and I honeymooned in Japan.
I guess.
I love this. How respectful. I wish America could be more like that.
rchcc122 That’s too funny in an ironic sense. The thief was CONSIDERATE enough to leave the apartment key?!?! Smh🤦🏻♀️
TemeryN yeah he's basically a gold mine for UA-cam right now
Sucks for Pewdiepie. I was never a fan of his, but the disrespect of content creators by UA-cam and Yt's preference of Viners and Celebrities is disgusting
Don’t they demonetize anything now that has cursing like the F word and b*tch?
Kindra Criado seriously
They are so pure. Literally, Jenna made a 45 minute video apologizing for buying the wrong fish tank, while Logan Paul writes an apology on his Twitter that he wrote in his note section on his phone. It just shows the difference between a role model and an amazing UA-camr, and internet trash.
I know this comment is over a year old, but you could barely call his apology an apology as well. It was basically him going on and on about how great he is and how great his channel is.
@@mikeyjamieson4715 yeah he twisted the situation to be about him

The fact that in 2018 we need to have these types of statements is sad :(
Yes it is so true! best statement I ever heard.
its so fucked that we even have to clarify that :/
I asked my son to unsubscribe from Logan Paul and he said, “Mom, I’d never watch him. He’s a douche.” I’ve raised a smart kid with a questionable vocabulary. 😁
Yes Mum!!

She is so mature. She has the mind of a 97 year old lady...

Tom Harlock i loved your Logan Paul apology video, you seemed so genuine 😂😂😂 it’s kind of disturbing because you were acting as Logan, who was also acting in his apology, but Logan is so far removed from reality that he doesn’t even know HOW to apologize. Keep up the amazing content mate, we love you 😘
thank you! appreciate your kind words x
That was my exact response when I started this podcast, I’m so happy you enjoy Jenna and Julien and listen to their opinions through this podcast! Also, I really enjoy your videos and content, good job!! :)
Tom Harlock loved the apology video you remade better than the original. Love you boo
ugh i love you
When Jenna was talking about Logan losing his soul... I felt that. She explains herself so gracefully
SunnyDumpling95 Fukin same I was like wow
Yea cuz a bitch educated and got her diploma 👏👏👏
Whenever Jenna gets really passionate about what she is talking about, whether she is excited or angry, the whole room disappears and its just her. Like wow. I genuinely enjoy listening to them because you can tell its SO real. They actually care about the future and wellbeing of UA-cam, other UA-camrs, and their fans. You two are the most humble and selfless content creators I have come across. Thank you for speaking up about this in such a professional and respectful way. Much Love.
Meghann Derocher I agree. Jenna has such a powerful voice.
jenna would make a fantastic lawyer
jenna and julien are probably the most mature, level headed and logic-minded UA-cam legends. of all the videos, this one’s the best structured, most comprehensive and the level of reprimanding is completely adequate on both ends. absolutely fantastic response. i salute both of you. ❤️
jenna is so fucking intelligent she's both book smart and street smart and its so inspiring that even though she's mad she still is able to give logan real advice on how to fix himself and paired with julien's excellent diction I'm so happy that i am on this platform just so I can watch y'all
"If all you want in life is money, you'll get it and you'll get nothing else." That's a damn good quote right there.
Kyra Vergho if only we can all just boycott UA-cam until they get their shit together
Preach. 🙌🏻
I scrolled through the comments of Jenna and Julien's post and they updated us that they managed to get it monetized again :)
Megan J Oh thank God
I felt like she was digging into my soul but I can’t believe how smart she is wow like crazy impressed by the both of them
I agree so much with you. Even watching this now, it’s crazy to think about how crazy this world has gotten.

I hope she’s okay, that’s hard for a person of any age to see.
I mean children will find a way.
morana Lea
That was a really mature decision of your cousin to make on her own.

I have no respect for Logan

Mariah Stanley I forget that Jenna actually has a masters degree all the time which is amazing!
Awkward Channel yeah. In psychology.
too true!! theyre so different when theyre serious, theyre actually fantastic
Well said.
I couldn't agree more
He was fucking laughing...that's disgusting.
Jigøku Shøjø agree ×onemillion
@crash, why would mentioning his name in the title do that though? Like why doesn't YT want that? Sorry I'm really behind.
And here we are, 11 months later, AND LOGAN HAS A SEASON 2 WITH UA-cam RED. HOW??
ive genuinely never seen such well spoken, intelligent, kind people ever. you guys are so amazing
Cindy Guentert-Baldo very well said
I'm 28 w/o kids.
However my mom who is now 60 had to deal with *the cellphone/computer* age
My mom had no idea what AIM was. Or group chats.
MySpace came and it was a huge concern.
The only thing she could do was keep a way of communication open.
She wanted to learn texting so I taught her. She wanted to see what MySpace was so I showed her..eventually it went to Facebook and I got her involved with her HS friends from the 70s
It can be a good thing, the unknown.
But the line of communication. Should always stay open.
I found that when my mom ( she was a single parent at the time as my father passed when I was 6)
The most important thing was wanting to learn and understand.
Just like share the video on my Twitter and just tag them and say “I would like you both to watch this whole thing and hear what they have to say and take something out of it” should I?

yo im legit crying, the reason why jenna is still after all these years one of the top youtubers is bc aside from being a memelord she is a genuine good person who is intouch with her emotions and its actually mature, so i've always look up to her and listen to these podcasts while doing other stuff bc i think her ideology always shines thru these conversations and im fucking crying over that subject they spoke about of how money wont make u happy if youre not happy beforehand, it felt like my mom whenever she is teaching me a lesson (im latino) i come from a very poor family, growing up a good day was when we had even a full meal to eat so the thing to reach for was always money, money to be able to rent our own place so we didnt have to sleep at an aunt's floor out of pity and money to be able to feed ourselves, i lived frustrated and stressed 24/7 not bc i was ungrateful but because i know my mom was hurting everyday for not being able to give me and my sister a comfortable life so that used to upset me bc i couldnt do much to help her.
money became the only thing on my life to the point i completely lost everything else, i was very young skipping school to go do small jobs and evn when we were grown and our financial status got better and stable i still was only focused on money, didnt make friends didnt want to go college, just work work work... and i kept wondering even like a year ago when we had all the basics to live i was still empty, because i didnt fucking had anything besides that, when payday came i was happy but after paying all the bills my happiness faded because it depended on something as elusive as money.
i know it sounds cliche but is not like money is gonna make u miserable but if its the only thing you want, youre gonna live a life going up and down because money aint a stable thing, así como viene así se va (as my mom says) (the same way it comes, the same way it goes)

Damn. This part is deep:
Jenna: *...They've forgotten how to be a person.

Japanese variety or game shows just show how fun and silly Japanese people are Logan Paul is a little overprivileged shit

Atlas Catawba Jenna is so amazing. I’m so glad that a person with such a powerful voice like her is on a platform like this.
Atlas Catawba why did I think it was in kinesiology lol
Danita Ramos what? lol it’s a masters in sports physiology and counseling
Jenna is incredibly intelligent, love hearing her perspectives :)
nada sports psychology not physiology
This is a white hot searing analysis. Jenna you are so smart and so sharp and so dead on about everything you say. It is refreshing to hear this.
Damn Jenna... the rant about "if all you want is money" rant made me cry. I need to go lie down and reconsider my life.
Eva Lore seriously same. I feel like I have become the stereotypical lawyer she mentioned that just throws themself into their work and I really need to make a far greater effort with my family & friends! Jenna&Julian are so incredibly wise and #goals in so many ways.
That's how you know it was a good podcast! They always make me reconsider my life.
same! the lone wolf part, feel personally called out lmao
it's a good rant but also like gurl... i know i'd be way happier if i didn't have to worry about bills so lmao (which wasn't the point of the rant aha)
"Someone who has been putting entertainment first so much that they've forgotten how to be a person." Well said Jenna.
You felt overwhelming guilt for endangering fish. He laughed and mocked a hanging dead body, then gave a selfish non-apology all while defending his actions.
That's the difference between genuinity and bullshit.
Jenna's hair looks absolutely gorgeous in this video, unrelated but true
I have SO MUCH respect for Jenna and Julien. This was an extremely well-put conversation.
Damn, you hit the ball right out of the park with this response!
Well freaking said.

Also, Jenna, I would love love love for you to do a video on your education views and why you push it so much, especially as a content creator. I'm a student and I often forget why I work so hard. thanks love yall.
Haley Hunzicker yes! I agree. And then during finals when I want to give up I can come back and watch said video
Absolutely. That's such a good idea for a podcast! Then we can get a longer video
That would be interesting.
I really appreciate you guys considering the Japanese side of things during this discussion. I'm someone who has studied Japanese extensively in college and has lived abroad in Japan, and watching this whole shitshow play out felt especially, personally despicable knowing intimately how respectful and polite Japanese society and culture is.
japansace weeb
I lived and worked in Japan and I'm so glad Jenna & Julien spoke about the Japanese side of things. Logan Paul had been acting like a racist idiot from the moment he set foot in Japan. It's obvious he treated the "foreigners" like objects for his amusement.
I really hate UA-cam's actions of supporting that racist a-hole and demonetizing anyone who criticizes Logan Paul (including Jenna & Julien!)
🙏🏻
I can’t imagine how hard it is to parent a teenage in this time. Hope he appreciates you.
As another mom I think you did the right thing. And the minimalist look is way cooler.
I applaud your decision and actions here! We need more parents to look at the situation and react the way you are. Thank you!
Thank you, I appreciate that, I often wonder if I'm doing the best, so this helps , ty.
The video was posted one the 1 year anniversary of my sister's suicide. I know how you feel.
Yeah, I lost someone to suicide few months before the vid was posted as well. I know this is 2 years later, but stay strong!
Thank you to you all of checking on me! Two years later, I've lost one more person to suicide but I'm doing ok!
I'm more sorry than I can say. My heart goes out to you.
Jenna is so goddam eloquent thank you for existing

"If you're not happy before you get money, you won't be happy after"

Can I say it? UA-cam let that video stay up and let the apology video trend for so long because the scandal made national news and UA-cam turned a blind eye so they could cash in on the publicity. They let us down for the almighty dollar and yet they're holding you to strict standards W... T... F...? I feel really let down as a viewer. Your content makes me comment too much. And just leave the door open, we don't want the cermet to cry and Peach, she's a natural. Marbles is OG
Theresa Pittman 🙌
yes yes yes.
It never would’ve been taken down at all if it wasn’t for the negative outcry. His fans loved the video and it got tons of views so UA-cam definitely turned a blind eye until they couldn’t anymore.
It made international news.
Michelle Woolfolk good kid!
I think it's because youve raised your kid correctly, prompts to you Michelle
Thanks guys. I am super proud of her. I just wish that some of these youtubers remembered that there are a lot of kids looking at them and emulating them. They have to do better as people not just role models.
That is how you know that as a parent you have done everything right. What a wonderful thing your child has done
Michelle Woolfolk why is your kid on youtube if she is not 13 yet? are you aware of Elsagate? why are you an irresponsible parent?
Gosh Jenna is so well spoken and thoughtful. I'm always impressed by her when she gets serious.
Be aware of what your people are watching.
going off title, it’s INSANE to me how a video titled “logan paul” gets demonetized faster then logan paul’s video titled “WE FOUND DEAD BODY IN SUICIDE FOREST” gets taken down
bri tellez The worst part is that it wasn't taken down, he deleted it... Sad
Allison Hindman ME TOO!
HELL YEAH
Honestly when they address issues, it’s the best in my opinion
Well said 👏🏼👏🏼
Allison Hindman hell yeah
So fucked up
That's freaking ridiculous! I'm sorry that happens to you
Pink Poodle Crafts I can't even monetize yet lol!
LitAfuseiCantStop good on you for admitting and changing!
Honestly, good for you for being humble enough to own up and courageous enough to put this on YT as a comment! I'm glad you were able to grow up a bit and effect change in your own prejudices/wrong mindset!
I’m feeling like a proud mama, and I don’t even know you! 🙂 Love and respect.
Rainiepie we need to have young adults take responsibility for their actions not have an excuse because of their age!
" We the Logang, dab dab dab!!"
Sorry that was just really funny hearing Jenna say that!! 😂😂😂
Mac Spen it’s just scary when Logan Paul says it
Ikr!!! Lmao
I love you guys
you’re so great dude
hi drew
Yo go back to making videos and useless ass merch❤
Drew Gooden I Just posted my video about Logan Paul go check it out if you could‼️
Nina W what's up drew
The part where Jenna is talking about "you already have the attention of so many...just calm down every once in awhile and be yourself" Kind of thing. People already like/love you. Just be a person and live your life.
Ms. Alex 👏👏👏👏
Mad respect for you guys for speaking out, in a brutally honest and unfiltered way, despite the risks.
Macy Boudreaux that’s so crazy. My friends little sister said the EXACT same thing
That he went there specifically looking for that
Parents should absolutely monitor their kids!!
This podcast needs to be trending
Skye Captør AGREED!
Skye Captør youtube wouldnt let that happen, they're trying to protect Logan (he makes them a lot of money).
Sadly I know all too well UA-cam would never let this hit trending
Anyone else feel like there was more outrage and action taken by parents when they found out their kids watched "13 reasons why" than with this situation? Apparently depicting adult situations in a show is crazy but a real life suicide victim's body is fine.
Hufflepuff HotStuff I completely forgot about that, but you do have a point.
jessica gonzalez thank you. I know it's apples and oranges really but felt like something to touch on.
I know it's really hard but we appreciate when you do talk about these kinds of topics. Thank you! 😊
I mean I agree with you on certain areas, but not all or even most, I would say, Americans are not inherently bad or selfish people
@@JessieJ93 i would actually like to respectively argue your point if you are open to it
