Can this be used on a tiny pin dot of rust on my new vehicle safely? The tiny chip was present and already showing rust when we bought it. I would really hate to disturb the rest of my perfect factory paint, which is exactly what will happen at a body shop. This small spot will end up being a foot round sanded area and feathering in. Therefore, could I safely use this to remove the rust and then use a paint pen to protect from further damage?
I'm wanting to use this on my side by side frame. In some places, I won't be able to wrap/cover it very well, if at all. Can I just put it on extra thick and get the same result? I know it will use more but I'm more concerned about getting the rust off than using more if it will work.

I have brake rust from the rotors on the wheels and sides of my car. Will this product be safe to remove the rust without damaging the paint or clear coat on the car? Looking for something easier than using a clay bar.
Hi Derrick, yes Metal Rescue Rust Remover GEL is safe on paint and will not harm your clear coat. Just make sure you wrap the GEL with some plastic wrap so it doesn't dry out. I eagerly bought this stuff for a gun restoration. Tested it on a piece with only light rust in a couple spots, but to be safe i covered the entire piece, a bolt body. Came back in the morning to great surprise as it was now covered in about ten times as much rust as before. Explanation? I still have another container of the gel but dont know if i have much use for an agent to promote rusting.
But, hey, I also bought your drycoat product and it doesnt seem to promote rusting. Small win I guess.
Hi Noisy Bandit, we have never heard of this issue with our GEL. Our GEL is designed to remove rust, there is nothing in the formula that would promote rust. I have rust very near to a rubber seal, will this hurt the rubber?

No, you must remove the product first and then apply the primer.

Hi Michael, Metal Rescue GEL is safe on paint. We suggest removing any loose or flaky paint before applying our GEL.
