Riley International Rescue Call 25/05/2024

Hello & Welcome to Harnetty Railways
In this video it's Riley International Rescue theme as we see Ian Riley's Black 5 44871 stand in for West Coast Railways's 34067 Tangmere on The Annual Northern Belle dining train.
Tangmere was booked for this trip but she was withdrawn for maintenance work so 44871 stood in to work the train instead.
Due to engineering works on the WCML & rail replacement bus services running between Oxenholme & Carlisle via Shap.
44871 only did 1 leg of The Northern Belle which was south bound over The Settle & Carlisle.
However it did create a rare chance to see a loco & support coach move going northbound over the S&C.
Here we see 44871 head north with support coach through Langcliffe to Carlisle in readiness to take over from diesel haulage which was bringing the train from Darlington via The Tyne Valley route earlier that morning.
We end this video at Birkett Common as we see 44871 work The Northern Belle during the climb to Ais Gill with no assistance from 57601 Windsor Castle on the rear apart from supplying power to the electrics & Central Door Locks to the rolling stock.
We would like to apologize for the sound quality on the coming towards shot as we had the extension cable fitted & mounting the microphone on the wall to act like a shield as prior to 44871 coming into view the wind had picked up & unfortunately it hadn't worked so once again we would like to apologize for this.
