I'd estimate that 80% of paid mods aren't worth the money, if we got something like Sim Settlements for Starfield, that'd be worth paying for, but these are just... bad.
Hi Crimson! Thanks for the content, think I am gonna start dropping by here daily before checking creation club or nexus :) get a review of the mod prior to installing :) Thanks
Coffee time. Well, uh, yeah. Might as well set fire to 6 bucks. Thanks for the video, great review, you’re doing a great job keeping the community from being fleeced.
I'm not exactly the kinda cat that has extensive fast food service experience, but brother i gotta believe your new boss handing you Prison Scrubs is NOT a positive sign as to how happy this new job will make you =)
I’m glad I can just experience this through you instead of having to buy it lol. I’m always curious about these kind of “immersive roleplaying” mods but would only pay if it’s something I really want to do. I don’t _really_ want to be a line cook in Starfield so this would’ve been nice as a freebie but I get there’s a lot of ground work involved. And lmao at 6:48 😂
The quality of the Creation PAID Mods is getting worse and worse. What we see here is that Creation Club is being exploited as a scam and Bethesda doesn't care. The worst thing... There is no rating system to warn the community about all these bad PAID mods.
I agree 💯 its crazy the shit thats been dropping and how broken most of them are. Its also bullshit that we have to manage load order. Its also bullshit that i have to exit save go to creations and turn them all off to exit game and have sound on relaunch nothing like taking 25 min to start a single player game on every reload and using quick resume will break your saves as it disables mods if the game disconnects from the net while playing mods can also crash your game. Its complete and utter trash.
I was a line cook once. Why anyone would pay 6 bones to do that is beyond me. Also is there an option for adding your “special ingredients”? Yes I mean that. Have a nice day😊 ps those dishes aren’t going to wash themselves.
Thanks to @LySofDev for the mod and @Crimson for the commentary. First, thanks for saving me 600 Quatluus on this mod. You would think the galley/kitchen would operate like the benches and research lab, draw inventory from the pantry (food storage). I’d be going postal if all I made was grilled cheese or ham & cheese sandwiches, especially after spending a point in Gastronomy!
I think I have better ways to spend my Starfield time. I'm glad you showed this mod. It's about what I thought it would be....boring. Just my opinion maybe it appeals to others. I wouldn't add it for free to be honest.
"But I don't want to be Mickey Caviar! It's bad enough working for Xenofresh, and that let me make Aurora! Now all the authorities give me a cold, dead stare when they find huge quantities of Chasmbass Oil on my ship. " 😤 For completion sake I would have put a point into Gastronomy to see if it unlocked more food orders, and if those food orders paid more for being a higher "tier". All in all this mod feels restrictive for my tastes.
One issue is how orders are handled-it feels clunky and doesn’t fit with Starfield’s lore. A more immersive approach could work like the Ryujin Industries mission line: allow players to apply for jobs at a kiosk, with higher gastronomy perks boosting earnings. In the kitchen, orders could be announced via loudspeaker, adding urgency with timed tasks. Players would check a tablet for each order, prepare dishes within a set time, and drop them off at a designated port to complete. This would make the experience smoother and more engaging, fitting better into Starfield’s world. Thanks for fhe review!
I want that little Neon restaurant that (with the dude you can have a conversation with) feels like cut content, to be turned into a repeatable Job of hunting down exotic meat and ingredients for him and as a reward you get new, useful buffer-food and drinks or your choice of money. Would be super fun on its own, and feed into exploring and scanning planets.
It would be nice if it rewards you with unique gear or clothing if you cook certain amount of food in each location. Something like if you cook 100 food in Kay's House you will get this armor, weapon or clothing. Cool mod, but yeah, a bit pricey
I LIKE the mod. I DON'T LIKE the price 💰💰💰 Economy and explorer mods have made my early game very hard therefore I still may find a place for this. also the "lip sync" has been fixed so it could be a good time to try it
Robot wait staff would negate the need for the terrible AI voice and facial expression. Those little wheeled security bots with a tray rack on top, for "Order- ups." Orders show up on the counter with a "ding", and a timer starts until the meal is placed on another counter and the player dings an Order-up bell. The robots could take the food, place it in their tray rack and go. Actual unique uniforms for each establishment are definitely a must for the investment. Orders pace should sporadically fluctuate during a shift, making for some frantic days on occasion. Crafting more difficult meals at work should grant the ability to make those meals without perks. Pay should be after 7 or 14 days with taxes based on location and employer imposed deductions based on player performance and a fee for the uniform deduction (wait time or some such). Sticking with a single kitchen should grant reputation and small wage increases over time and open opportunities for higher class establishment employment once a set reputation is gained. If people want to make money selling mods, they should maybe put a little effort into it. I think the concept of this mod is pretty solid, but that's all it is. There's no progression or gameplay loop. I don't see anyone enjoying this after a day or two. 600 credits? Go play a Kinggath mod and get a sense of what quality is.
This mod doesn't really catch my attention all that much, I mean anybody can make a sandwich.. anybody can slap two pieces of bread and cheese together, where is the immersion? We're not making five star meals? 😅 It would be great to see more complex recipes and each restaurant you work at should have a set pay, and the more recipes for Meals you complete, the amount of credits you received for your work should increase by a slight amount each time.
This is a very cool mod that does do something different and tht in itself is very cool but i think this is a missed opportunity by the Mod Author to make money Im sure the mod creator would have banked the download if only they would have charged 200 points or $2.00 selling this at such a high price point is just going to hurt sales. Selling anything this is always something to think about.
I’m glad that you reviewed this. You saved me from buying it.
I'm playing a game for fun, who wants to play a line cook for fun? This would be a cute free mode.
Me, I shall now live the same life in the game as I do now

All in for a sim settlements mod, only reason why I played fallout 4 for years

Brewed some Tea 🍵 instead.

Four meals and you earn 2000 credits, this is apparently a non-profit organization. =)
Great review!

It would also be good if you warned against such scams at the end.
I love the idea in principle but every time I recognize artificially generated voice acting I recoil.

It will be great as a free mod or only 100 credits. But 600? No.
Looks like it functions pretty well and is good for roleplay
It is, just a little pricey, hopefully yhe mod author adds some more content to better match the price

These mods are getting worse and worse... My faith in Bethesda is at an all time low.
How are you going to make ratatouille if you have no points in gastronomy
I was taught the ways of cooking from a snail
Can you try the elder star system Magnus?
Hello there
None of these should disable achievements
Uhhh ... no.
Hell no.
Thanks for the warning.
sheesh!
