It's likely because the 3DS system has better and more robust WiFi capabilities, which makes getting programs and files that much easier.

I fr stumbled upon someone who complained that it’s still a crime even if Nintendo doesn’t support it and he called video games a “luxury”. That guy was an idiot.
@@Youcrab-jx1jtI don’t get how games are a luxury for him but also dont support piracy for certain parts of the world especially Nintendo games.
Joke aside, where I live, nobody gets sued for modifying their hardware, software, downloading games, nor for emulating unless they SELL copyrighted products.
It is always presumed the responsability is on the distributor to not infringe on copyrights by selling what they have no licence to do.
@@familhagaudir8561 to my knowledge I don’t think anywhere people get sued for modifying their console if the judge isn’t awful. It’s like selling a house but forbidding the owner to change a door in said house.
I have a 2DS coming in this week, I fully plan on modding it and installing all the "Educational Programs" I would ever need

I absolutely love how the community keeps the 3DS alive and everyone is using it like a console made for modding, which almost feels like the 3DS is public domain or something like that lol
Some extras: Wumiibo, let's you mimic amiibos, Reverse let's you use miiverse, and CTGP7 lets you mod mariokart.
Honestly, modding a 3DS is a must after the eShop and online gaming shut downs
I love my 500gig micro sd card where I managed to cram every single 3ds and ds game I ever wanted to play out of the entire library. It's feature complete. I also really like the background changer that I have set to randomly swap between some awesome homebrew backgrounds, making it feel fresh every time I pick it up. :D Jailbreaking it was the best thing I ever done.

I modded my 3ds (well 2ds) over a year ago and I didn't know about some of these educational platforms thanks 😁
I became very educated about my dual IPS screen, new 3DS XL with a Samsung pro ultimate 256 gig SD card.
And also my second one.
On side but still serious note it’s been a lot of fun modifying them and learning how to 3-D print grips and stuff like that .
I haven’t done anything like soldering in USB mod, or replace a top screen, but I’ve done pretty much everything else and it’s been really neat to just kind of learn about how these things look and how they work.
Started me down a rabbit hole of thinking maybe I should repair more things that break and modify things to make them cool and unique as well!
The more effort and love you put into something, the more value you get from it
I wanna get a 3DS and mod it so that I can install this educational game called “New Leaf”. I heard it is really good and that you can actually learn a lot about nature in this game!
FTPD is also useful for when ur friends want programs or folders to distribute files like nintendo ds (twilight menu) and 3dsx (hb launcher) but doesnt have a pc

Me too. Why did all the good videos about yo-kai watch meta come out around when it was dieing and get me excited for something I could never experience
Although with how things appear to be going for the project right now unless somebody passionate about the series joins the team(and knows what they're doing in order to help) even starting work on yo-kai watch is probably a year away

I finally discovered HB with my 3Ds this year and I feel like I've opened a door to a new world. I want to go get a wii or wii u and push its limits too. Love the HB community so much.

Ftpd was the first thing I looked into as I used it a ton of my switch, got my 3ds a couple days ago, spent 30 min setting up cfw and instantly added ftpd.
How do you use It? Do you have to install It on PC too or something likes that?
@@meestasermorto1523 yes you install an app. Look up on UA-cam how to install ftpd on 3ds. Once you get it installed and use it the first time it's really easy to use again
@meestasermorto1523 When you run the ftp software on the 3ds it will tell you an ip and a port (ex: 192.168.1.1:5000). On a Windows pc I go to the file explorer and right click the address bar, then edit, then put: ftp://192.168.1.1:5000.
The H-shop actually comes in clutch for providing updates to my recently imported out of region games too (I mean I could have gotten the games themselves from there too but sometimes its nice to have a physical copy) seriously I can't count the number of times I've booted that up just to install updates for games I own legally at this point it probably starts to rival... well I probably shouldn't finish that sentence

I won't mod my 2DS XL just yet though. I don't want to give big N a reason to prematurely lock me out Pokémon Bank. But once that's dead too I will mod the hell out of the thing.
I got mine modded and Pokebank still worked. I use PKSM now but it’s still there
My 3Ds has been modded for years and I've used pokebank just fine.
Save data backups are too important for me to ever not mod a 3ds the instant I get my hands on it
Fred I seriously the best. One thing to note is that some folders won't show up, like the saves in with the nds rooms for the twilight menu. So keep that in mind.

I just modded 1. Ran into I think 2 errors that were EZ to get around by reading recent documentation.
Jailbreaking doesn't break what you currently have. It just opens your device up to way more options. I recommend it on any console past its support life 😅
The hshop is really good, but it lacks the charm of the OG eshop. If background music was added I’d be really happy.

my crappy dsi, smashed 4 seperate times and 20€ worth of sd cards still alive
The funniest part is that I still prefer playing my DS games on my R4. The only downside is the support for only microSD. No HC or XC so max 2GB 😭

It's not even just the pc, with cx explorer you can do it via your android devices
i wouldn't call it a feature since it is a common protocol in the Networking space
Now that i can pla- LEARN mk7, I can FINALLY get my bachelors degree or whatever
You don't need an additional program to move files on your 3ds and with your computer. Just go to settings and file management, under SD Card settings it should let you connect to your wifi network and move the files on your computer
That's exclusive to the New 3DS, New 3DS XL, and New 2DS XL. For the 3DS, 3DS XL, and 2DS, FTPD is the only way. Granted, they do have a "New" model...

Yes!
Although going from no streetpass DLC(aside from stock/slot car) to all the streetpass DLC is quite overwhelming even if the only one your streetpassing is other 3ds's you own I can only imagine how much more so it would be if I finally took the plunge and set up net pass
And also every time you use the regular e-shop the dlc uninstalls so you have to install it again and sit through the minute long look at this game you just unlocked thing again

I crashed my memory card twice trying to mod my 3DS.
My only fear of modding my 2ds is accidentally screwing up and bricking my ds.
surprisingly detailed instructions with little if any chance to fail. Just get a good SD card
Btw the hShop can cause some issues so you can just download the files from the website and install the game manually.

i bought new 3ds ll region unlocked since it was cheaper than usa models. decided its already modded might as well download the mii plaza and themes i had using hshop. ended up paying for the games if i could

Absoluuuutely you can! It doesn't take much time at all, and I've even got a bunch of 3DS mod tutorials on this UA-cam if you're interested in checking them out! Just look for the 3DS Modding playlist!

I think that the hardest part of modding a 3ds is getting a 3ds. Because those prices are way TOO HIGH. Like man people think that the 3ds is worth 100$ more just because a online store shutdown?

I certainly only use my modded 3ds for EDUCATIONAL purposes and would never use the hshop for anything but EDUCATIONAL content
