Your videos are the best I have seen. For working on motorcycles. You explained everything you need to know and get to the point. I have a 2022 Rebel 1100. I only have 2500 miles. But plan to put a lot more on this year.
I'm 80 yrs old. Just replaced the plugs and air filter. I recommend Gus for a Pulitzer , "Illustrated Reporting and Commentary". Well done, great video quality and description. No wasted words. I used new NGK plugs, identical to the OEM plugs in the bike. Less cost than Honda brand. The gap out of the box matched factory specs. It took me a while to finish, but well worth the time. Thank you for all your work for us in the 1100 community.

@@AmerSheikh I'm so sorry to hear that brother, I know exactly how that feels! Regarding the rebel 1100 DCT, after changing the seat, adding risers and windshield, it is ideal for my size, 5'7. How nimble and easy it is relative to a goldwing or big adventure bike is surprisingly a great value! Fyi, a friend of mine just went all the way to CA from the east coast on a rebel 1100 manual!

@@AmerSheikh I have been experimenting with seats for the past year, and the winner is the Corbin, I can't recommend it enough for long distance! The stock seat will start causing pain after 20 minutes, while the Corbin has zero pain after 2 hours before stopping, I even did 560 miles in one day with zero pain at the end of a 12 hour riding day! I'm not worried about the limiter as the speed limit is below that and the cops are everywhere, besides my track days are behind me and I'm looking to enjoy each journey. I'm sure they will make a touring screen for the rebel 1100 in the near future.
Nice video boss. I miss the old days. Throw an S^S motor in a bicycle frame and make a beer run. Just a little nugget for ya'll. I recommend adding a film of vaseline jelly to any and all black rubber grommets, hoses and clamp connections to keep the rubber from cracking and getting hard.
Great great video I have over 13 thousand miles going to change plugs and air filter bike doesn't want to start first time after sitting a few days but does start ,so I figger I would change plugs along with the air filter once again thanks for the video! I can do anything if someone shows me how plus the torques, a lot better if you do it yourself !! Piece of mine !
Oooffff If not mistaken the spark plugs are IRIDIUM type. To me they look good to go for a long time further. I wouldn’t replace them as often as decribed. Most cars use IRIDIUM spark plugs nowadays - have seen Chevrolets doing 200000 miles on them. Also I have IRIDIUM spark plugs in my bikes - no need to replace in many years. Lastly I think many owners of this type of Honda will replace the outer plugs only - and call it a day.
I added some grease to the gromets to make working on the bike later easier later on, also you may want to take that exhaust off and recoat it, starting to look like its wanting to rust ? Or maby thats dirt ? Great video as usual :).

I just put my laptop on the workbench and play & pause at each step. And, if a difficult procedure arises, I can back up and watch it again. I honestly think Honda should consider paying you for these maintenance videos. They make mediocre mechanics such as myself much more confident to go ahead and tackle these procedures. Thanks again, man. And I hope you keep making these videos. You are saving us hundreds, and maybe thousands in shop labor costs. I learned one thing: The inside plug will never be changed. Not by me, not by the dealer - they will not go true this hassle just to change the plug. RIP inside plug! lol
11:28 On my brand new (200 miles in) 23’ 1100, I have a leak coming from the hose your hand is on (I think something with the evaporative emission system), specifically from the bottom clip. This video was helpful in identifying the hose so thanks again!! Curious why i’d have a leak here, thinking of removing the tank and air box to reinstall a better clamp.

I'm sorry to hear that bro, but don't be too concerned about it bro, go to 22:33 to see me reinstall it, you could remove it and reinstall it properly with the clamp in the right place to ensure a snug fit. That's the easiest thing to do before taking the tank and airbox off. do me a favor, check to see if there is a little oil in the breather tube on the other side, if there is oil in the breather tube, we now that the system is working as it is supposed to. this is how to check the breather tube ua-cam.com/video/ESnzd3q_Uak/v-deo.html
Wow thanks. Yeah i’ll try removing the side cover and ignition coil first. Breather hose has maybe 3-5mm of liquid in it. I can drain that but it definitely doesn’t look full. Concerning for only 200 miles? Thanks so much!! You’re awesome

That means that there is no obstruction for the oil to flow to the breather tube, what's left is to make sure the hose is seated properly and the clamp is holding it tight enough. Nothing to be concerned about, it's just the seal between the plastic and rubber that isn't tight enough. I've seen other reports similar to yours but on the other side where the oil collects in the tube. 🤙

You should always use some thermal paste or anti seize paste on the threads when with aluminum heads, before installing new spark plugs, to prevent galling.

Wow, and here I thought that changing the plugs on my Suzuki Boulevard was a p.i.t.a. I can't believe how complicated it is on the Honda Rebel 1100. I guess that's one of the drawbacks of the parallel twin configuration vs a v-twin....or maybe it's just Honda's way of overcomplicating something that should be a lot easier. Great tutorial, nonetheless!

Bonjour Ange, merci pour vos gentils mots. Ne vous fiez jamais à l'écartement correct des bougies d'allumage, vérifiez toujours à nouveau. Je préfère utiliser les bougies d'allumage choisies par les ingénieurs Honda, c'est mieux à long terme. J'ai remplacé le filtre à air par le filtre à air K&N, mais je ne l'ai pas documenté dans cette vidéo, mais j'ai une vidéo séparée expliquant comment changer le filtre à air. Mon vélo bénéficie d'une garantie prolongée de 5 ans, un entretien régulier n'annulera pas la garantie, couper les câbles électriques ou démonter le moteur peut annuler la garantie. Il est recommandé de documenter le moment où vous effectuez l'entretien programmé dans le carnet de garantie et de conserver les reçus des liquides et pièces recommandés par Honda.
I have a question, not necessarily related to this video, but, in the gas tank, do you know if the gas gets sucked from the bottom of the tank or an intake attached to the float. If it sucks from the bottom of the tank I think it would be better because if you got contaminants in the tank, they would get sucked into the filter. If the intake is on the float, contaminants would accumulate for a long time and then all of a sudden, you have an 1/8th of junk sitting on the bottom of the tank and have problems.
Hey great video on how to change out breather but all the warnings you give about protecting your paint seem like you had a learn by doing on yours. I’m sure you were pissed when you put the scratches on yours. It will keep me and hopefully others that see it more focus on raping tape for any thing done to it so not to scar up my bike.
I noticed that you don’t have the Corbin seats any more. They weren’t as expected or you don’t recommend it ? Btw great video and great content on your channel
Hi Edwin, good eye brother! I am testing both the Corbin and the mustang seats and will have a video review in the future, the bottom line is that the Corbin turned out to be more comfortable for me but sacrifices reach to the ground and bars 🤙
Hi There Doom3crazy, good to hear from you!! There are several signs to look out for such as: the gap, how dark, how light, how wet, how dry etc... in my case i opt to replace them since it is more trouble to check them vs replace them....
so in a normal situation, you'd probably suggest that I should just wait until I hit 16k miles to "inspect" them but really, if I am going through that hassle, at 16k miles I might as well replace them, correct? @@ontherebel11
Hi Tomas! I've read that the second spark plug works at over 4,000 rpm which is why you feel the bike deliver more power right at 4,000 rpm. The reasoning might be for better fuel economy at lower revs? i'm not quit sure...
So, that doesn't look like the Corbin seat you showcased, and it isn't stock, is that a mustang seat? Details!!!!! (and thanks, this will help as others have said, great video!)
You are correct, this is the mustang rider and passenger that I'm currently testing and comparing to the Corbin! I plan on making a review in the near future. But after several thousand miles of extensive testing, the Corbin wins the butt comfort battle. 👍
@@locumClown don't get me wrong, the mustang is night and day different than the stock seat! It depends on how long you plan on being in the saddle, for me I want a seat that I can be in for up to 12 hours on a ride as my rides are always over 200 miles. If you are taller than 5'9 the Corbin will be better.
@@ort7374 hi ORT, the Corbin raises you up slightly, pushes you back, and has a wider front that affects the reach to the ground. If you plan on ordering one, make sure to talk to them and tell them your height.
Even if you pay a dealer to do this job, I guarantee 100% they will change just the outside plug and tell you they changed both! No way dealer will go true this headache, they will just lie to you....

Mon vélo bénéficie d'une garantie prolongée de 5 ans, un entretien régulier n'annulera pas la garantie, couper les câbles électriques ou démonter le moteur peut annuler la garantie. Il est recommandé de documenter le moment où vous effectuez l'entretien programmé dans le carnet de garantie et de conserver les reçus des liquides et pièces recommandés par Honda.

I have a question, not necessarily related to this video, but, in the gas tank, do you know if the gas gets sucked from the bottom of the tank or an intake attached to the float. If it sucks from the bottom of the tank I think it would be better because if you got contaminants in the tank, they would get sucked into the filter. If the intake is on the float, contaminants would accumulate for a long time and then all of a sudden, you have an 1/8th of junk sitting on the bottom of the tank and have problems.

Hey great video on how to change out breather but all the warnings you give about protecting your paint seem like you had a learn by doing on yours. I’m sure you were pissed when you put the scratches on yours. It will keep me and hopefully others that see it more focus on raping tape for any thing done to it so not to scar up my bike.

Hi Edwin, good eye brother! I am testing both the Corbin and the mustang seats and will have a video review in the future, the bottom line is that the Corbin turned out to be more comfortable for me but sacrifices reach to the ground and bars 🤙

A little silicone spray will make it easier to assemble the rubber pieces. I would not recommend WD40 as it gets gummy with age.

The new plugs should be Iridium so you do not have to do this again for 50,000 miles, yes they last that long. Gapping them before install is a must.

Hi There Doom3crazy, good to hear from you!! There are several signs to look out for such as: the gap, how dark, how light, how wet, how dry etc... in my case i opt to replace them since it is more trouble to check them vs replace them....
so in a normal situation, you'd probably suggest that I should just wait until I hit 16k miles to "inspect" them but really, if I am going through that hassle, at 16k miles I might as well replace them, correct? @@ontherebel11
why does the engine have 4 spark plugs? What is the purpose of this?
Hi Tomas! I've read that the second spark plug works at over 4,000 rpm which is why you feel the bike deliver more power right at 4,000 rpm. The reasoning might be for better fuel economy at lower revs? i'm not quit sure...
So, that doesn't look like the Corbin seat you showcased, and it isn't stock, is that a mustang seat? Details!!!!! (and thanks, this will help as others have said, great video!)
You are correct, this is the mustang rider and passenger that I'm currently testing and comparing to the Corbin! I plan on making a review in the near future. But after several thousand miles of extensive testing, the Corbin wins the butt comfort battle. 👍

@@locumClown don't get me wrong, the mustang is night and day different than the stock seat! It depends on how long you plan on being in the saddle, for me I want a seat that I can be in for up to 12 hours on a ride as my rides are always over 200 miles. If you are taller than 5'9 the Corbin will be better.
What's the reasoning for the taller than 5'9 for the Corbin? I'm 5'5 and exploring options too.
@@ort7374 hi ORT, the Corbin raises you up slightly, pushes you back, and has a wider front that affects the reach to the ground. If you plan on ordering one, make sure to talk to them and tell them your height.
