I had a fz6 as my second bike. Was super fun. I sold it and now i want back into riding and the r7 seems to be the route i want. I want something sleek and sporty but not too fast. Something i can cruise on.
R7 is no where near a ninja 650. R7 is way faster both top speed, and acceleration. Yes it has a parallel twin. But you forget to mention it's a cross plane motor. Cp2's are very, very torquey. I can snap my fz07 up at 60 no issues in 3rd. Tops out at 140... tune, exhaust, and intake...
@shiftingflames1014 the 650's are not considered Supersports. Both insurance and the actual description from manufacturers do NOT call a 650 a super sport. Now, the cbr650r I am not sure of. But the ninja 650 is not a Supersport

Somebody with sense. This is probably the worst beginner bike considering how much torque you get instantly. Other 600-700s you have to work for the power up in the rpm but this freaking thing explodes when you give it good amount. Not something you’d want as a beginner. But pride lies deep.
@@FJ1903 most people who start on bigger bikes are fine, it’s the skill that reflects and makes it dangerous and not worth it. A smaller bike teaches you more while a bigger bike just makes you scared and timid towards it. It really shows when you see dudes on big bikes that don’t know how to downshift or shift smooth in general or have the confidence that a person on a smaller bike has. It’s really dumb cringe when they don’t even know how to balance the bike at turns or even at stops. An r7/mt07 regardless of how it’s ridden will not teach you like an R3 would or similar bike, just facts
I think R7 isn’t a bad bike but I beliave if certain rider are going to transition I honest say a grom is would better beginner bike to learn wheelies most people grew up riding dirt bikes or pit bikes before they got into super bike .
I've owned a 636 and a zx10r. I figured the r7 would be a good bike to behave on.. I knew it was gonna be slower but I'm kind of disappointed it the engine performance. The bike handles like it's on rails but lacks power. Yamaha claims 143 top. I can't find a road long enough to get over 130. Wish I would have just went with a true 600 class
You went from a 1000 to a 600 pretty much sums it up I don't care whether they claim 700 or not 636 tuned kawi will run with this bike all day. Once you get use to speed the speed your use to becomes slow. It's a chase that will never satisfy the last thing you should have ever done is go backwards in the speed and expect satisfaction! JS

Kinda dissapointed that the r7 isnt as playful as the mt07 but im not entirely surprised either. Just sounds like the mt07 is the all around better deal. I feel like the only time youd really want an r7 is if you wanted to compete in super twins and just dont like the gsx8r, ninja 650, cbr500r, or the rs660.

@@koki_9248r6 has a much higher rev range and high end power. The power band in an r7 is much more linear with good low end torque. Lot better for city and street riding and a little better ergonomics
I’m getting a bike in the near future, I thought about the ninja 400 but what is stopping me from getting the bike I actually want (R7) is the maneuvering, and I guess that doesn’t really matter what bike I take because it’s something I’ll have to get used to but my question is, is the R7 a good first bike? This guy lol down grades the R7 a little too much in my opinion in sounds the best and looks the best and its fast and quick at acceleration and another bike i love the looks and sound of is the MT-07 that bike and the R7 are my 2 favorite bikes when it comes to sound and looks with being on a budget and $10,000-$11,500 is not a lot of money for any motorcycle brand new especially when you compare it to my dream bikes which are the Yamaha R1M , Ninja H2, S1000rr, GSX-R1000R, turbo Busa 😂😂❤❤

I guess if your going in a straight line like this you and never turning it'd be good but to each is own. Not sure why people give advice on bikes with only freeway pull experience, then crash. Probably not the best advice or image for new riders, but your not forcing anyone to smash on the freeway it's up to them at the end of the day. Ride safe.

On the other hand you also have people saying “Start on a 600”. So I really don’t see the problem with starting on an R7

Telling people what bike to get as a beginner based off speeding on the highway ain't it. Go hit the track and give a full review not just a freeway or group ride running in a straight line. Those who say a 600 or anything above a 300/400 are wrong. You have to learn how to walk before you run. A lot of new riders are stubborn and get whatever bike they want, they’re going to get. 400/600/1000. Doesn’t matter. My input doesn’t matter. But I do firmly believe someone CAN start on the bike. Not everyone wants to be a track star. That’s something you have to learn as well, there are people that want to just chill and get a sporty looking bike that isn’t a death trap… like the R7.

I personally would not put a beginner on Ninja/Z 400 even unless they had at least had some experience on a small dirt bike or moped. For reference I have worked in Bike shops and been a trainer.

All the 650s are also litre bikes broski that's why a 650r CBR is slower than a 600rr cbr

I been riding a rebel 500 for two years and want to get into sport bikes would this be a good bike to get into?
If you want something more tame yes, but if you want a pure sport bike feel.. I’d go with an inline 4. ZX6R or R6
