Fantastic reaction, interpretation and analysis. I highly recommend the whole album. It is amazing. Really happy you enjoyed this. Nowhere near enough people give this album a chance.
This album reminds me of my grandfather. He was on a B-24 Liberator Bomber. He never talked about it and eventually got divorced. My grandparents got remarried in the 90s and my grandfather finally got counciling about PTSD. He tore the curtain down! My father was a teenager from Albanian avoiding the Nazis and my grandfather's bombs! He was captured many times throughout Europe. When he came to the states in 49 he went to college and went to work as a teacher, soccer coach and double agent for the CIA and FBI. Fighting communism. I remember walking into safehouses getting past shotguns in the hall, literally. It ruined his marriage but the Berlin Wall fell and he won. Job completed.
This album followed The Wall and often gets overlooked because how can you follow something like that? It reminds me of Around The World In A Day by Prince (that I also feel is underrated). That album followed Purple Rain which was huge here in America. Can't wait until we get around to Astronomy Domine. Thanks again!
not now john was the only song the band actually did as a group and it was recorded live from the wall tour. Roger put this album / cd together on his own from clips and tape from previous recordings .
I don't think it's about suicide - I took it as 'tearing the curtain down' - revealing his inner feelings...(a la The Wall) Instead the phone rings and he puts the 'mask' back on...
I appreciate your reactions to my favourite band. Your insight and reactions seem to nail the essence of the song especially for a first time listen. I love the depth of the songs they can mean different things to different people at different times of life. I wish I could unlisten to Pink Floyd to get the chance to listen to all the songs again for the first time. Some essential songs to review Echoes (Studio Version first) Dogs Atom Heart Mother Welcome to the Machine Wearing the inside out Also pink Floyd songs are ment to be listened as an album to fully understand the story. I look forward to more pink Floyd reactions and you have introduced me to new music that I never gave a chance before
Great song from the Most Underrated PF-Album. The sound in this video is terrible, dont know what happened. But i love you and this reaction. Please go on like this.
Hi you guys another great reaction use nailed the emotional content of the song the man in the song was a secret service soldier like a hit man for the military then he flashes back to his teen years to show he was a normal person once then it jumps to him returning home from his military life haunted by the things he's done scared of what his wife would do if he told her his story ends with a little hope for his Senate when the phone rings stopping him from comiting suicide
this song is in no doubt connected to the wall, i always think this shudda been part of it, great song if you want to delve into someones being and soul.
I've always thought of this song as an alternate ending to "The Wall". Get rid of the trial and end with this song. This song is Pink at his most gut-wrenching vulnerability. The Final Cut starts by describing the the wall of defenses and protections he has built up around himself. Behind that wall are his fears and vulnerabilities. As much as I came to dislike Roger Waters for breaking up The Floyd, this song really made me feel for the guy.
Good reaction, As mentioned Roger Waters was one of Pink Floyd's driving creative forces, his lyrics and music really make you stop and think. I'd like to see you react to Roger Waters What God wants ua-cam.com/video/wtq1_peTXbw/v-deo.html I don't think you guys will be disappointed with that sledge hammer track
jamistay my Indian compadres, uhh might want to pick another pf tune, that one is what we all refers to as esoteric, more for the hardcore Floyd fans, keep the faith and I dig cows too🐮🤔
Great reaction, this album has some of roger waters most intense writing, a true genius
Fantastic reaction, interpretation and analysis. I highly recommend the whole album. It is amazing. Really happy you enjoyed this. Nowhere near enough people give this album a chance.
Roger's vocals in this whole album is real and his heart was poured into every lyric. Masterful
You guys are so ready for Shine on you Crazy Diamond now. There's no way around it. It's everything Pink Floyd packed into one song.

I’ve always loved this song. Some heavy lyrics here!
This has such a comfortably numb feel to it, it is a beautiful song.
Thank you. Roger Waters, for sharing your musical genius, and for your honesty. God bless you.
