Sweet. In the last month of my dad's life we listened to a lot of music together. Sometimes his, a Beethoven piano concerto for example, sometimes mine. One night I put Dark Side of the Moon on. He smiled and said "I like this." But the really important thing was that he had a brain tumor and he had already been having trouble communicating. It was easy to guess that he was just totally out of it. As we listened to DSOTM we were holding hands... when the voice comes on saying "I ain't afraid to die; I can go anytime" (paraphrase) my dad squeezed my hand. Me and my mom/sisters knew he was going to die already, but me knowing that he understood this meant so much.

Pink Floyd (from begining of 66/67 to mid 80's) and Hawkwind (from 1970 to mid 80's especially) have both writeen and played the most powerful music and lyrics of all. I think, and I could be wrong, that they once were great and had a good time with that greatness but went in the wrong direction in '76-'77. Of course they have still managed to come up with some great tunes but really? the Floyd at their best went from '69-'75. That's about it. Move on; everything else is negativity and craziness. I left the north of Pakistan in 1989 and made my way to Chapora in Goa-which in those days was no more than a small villagefor a much needed rest having had amoebic dysentery in northern Pakistan. It was an awful journey but when I finally got there someone was playing Obscured by Clouds in a cafe and just as I gazed at the first beach with coconut palms on it that I had ever seen ,the track Absolutely Curtains' started. Whenever I play that track it all comes back to me......What a great album.
50 years ago today, this album was released. Definitely the middle child, between Meddle and DSOTM, but undeniably an underrated gem in the line up. Happy 50th, Obscured By Clouds!
@@mgronda410 “The Wall” is tenth rate compared to “Obscured..”! Don’t get me wrong, the good stuff on “The Wall” is as great as they’d ever done, but it’s overwhelmed by far too much dross. There’s about a third of that album that’s pure genius, and 2 thirds dreck. “Animals” was the last 100% classic Floyd album.
I don’t know why people keep saying that this album doesn’t sound like the rest of PF. You can absolutely hear little bits of what would eventually be songs like: Shine On, Brain Damage, Us and Them, Time, and even stuff from The Wall. It’s an amazing piece of history leading up to one of the most legendary album runs of any musical act ever.
If you listen to pre Dark Side Of The Moon, this is definitely Floyd through and through. I also suggest listening to the only two Barrett solo albums he wrote after getting booted from Floyd. Very much like early Floyd, understandably. (Those two Barrett albums were helped along by David Gilmore and Roger Waters and also produced by those two guys.) Check out PInk Floyd "Atom Heart Mother" and compare the similarities to this excellent album.
I remember when I was introduced to Pink Floyd, as a teenager in the late ‘70’s. It was dark side of the moon, meddle, and obscured by clouds. I instantly took to this music… Played it endlessly. Still love it❤👍☮️🎸
This album fits in perfectly when examining their amazing evolution from their earliest albums, on up through Meddle, Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals and The Wall. I feel blessed to have grown up alongside them!
i love this album but kind of disagree... I find it very odd in between Meddle and DSOTM... I think their soundtracks are a separate category unlike anything else they did
@@martyconroy3786 Yes....with OBC they were still evolving and yet maintained the groove allowing, like Meddle, the PF sound to stand out. Unfortunately, the album was not given the credit it deserved. Bloody hell...just listen to that opening track: Monumental!! Once they made DSotM, they moved into a new era. To many, they became the 'new' band. To those who were with them from the very start, it was simply their next progression. To me, when Wright was allowed the attention he deserved, they were Pink Floyd
this album is something for many people. for me, it is being 16 years old, walking to school, my friends houses and work with headphones on playing a steady rotation of this album, atom heart mother, dtotm and 2112 by rush. all on cassette. amazing walks. i had grown up with a lack of foundation and a love of music. discovering pink floyd and rush at 15 was transforming to me. it showed me that music can take us away, it can inspire us, it can impress us. it can cause us to critique that which we can not come close to making and there was a lot of pain in some of it. today, i play guitar, good enough to probably bang this song out in some form. i never really saw that coming, as i never aspired to be like the musicians, except neil peart.
If someone asks how they went from Meddle to Dark side of the moon, this album is the answer. They already found their sound, but with this album they acomodated their sound to a much comercial vibe, the key of their success.
@markrae1317 I remember during the 70s this album was hardly noticed after the release of dsotm and wish you were here etc and after that was virtually forgotten apart from the real Floyd fans who knew a lot of the early stuff was absolutely classic up until around the early ninety's when the world really got into the Floyd sound. I was there mate trust and real talent from all the Floyd members gaurenteed that Floyd was always destined to be the legends they are now. Thanks for the interest. Craig. Lifelong Floyd fanatic

Hey there, Craig. I am glad knowing you have found it! Even though it was a soundtrack it is more song oriented than some others and really quite rocking! I got it the year it was released and am sure I have listened to it more than any other PF album. Peace, brother!
This is one of my favorite pink Floyd albums. 💗 have it on vinyl since the 70s I always heard the magic. And loved the album title Another great from a legendary band. THE FLOYD. Peace love ☮️ ❤️ 8888
Think I bought this one in 1988 at 19 yrs old. Always loved it. Not long ago, a friend and I went on a trip, figuratively. He, having very little experience, turned on the TV. I watched the smile drop from his face in seconds. I started digging until I had assembled enough equipment to play an actual record. The 5 minute miracle I call it. Pulled this out and within minutes my friend was weeping with joy. Complete 180 degree about face. He had no exposure to anything like the ethereal melodies contained herein. Experience saved, another sole enriched. Pure bliss.
Show
Uma boa forma de não menosprezar outras bandas é não colocar PF na categoria "rock progressivo", já que isso faz da categoria uma competição injusta, Pink Floyd é de subgênero próprio
Yes a film soundtrack..but wow..a great album written around DSOTM. When Floyd were at their peak. David Gilmours guitar is all over this album. Brilliant and very underrated. Stunning piece of work.
You know what's overrated? David Gilmour. He wasn't even a part of the band until their 4th album, and he was barely on the last Syd album, apart from a few guitar licks. Now apparently the entire band was about him.
@@duckswearinggloves305 He definitely did. He's an ok guitarist, but the way he plays definitely fits their sound very well. Not skilled, but for sure an excellent fit and an iconic sound.
The only down fall with 8 tracks was when the head turned over in the middle of a song....but it didn't matter cause you were in control of the music in your vehicle....
'cause his carreer as a guitarist is much more remarkable... His singing is incredibly beautiful, but the way he play his guitar is absurdly outstanding, soothing, touching, mind blowing, mesmerizing and orgasmic if you allow me to say it...
@@Ralph_River His guitar playing is reptilian; bypasses your ears and goes straight for your soul instead. That's what makes him totally unique to me. Have loved this music for the last fifty five years. It's my religion.
I personally think this is the best Pink Floyd album ever! Not to take away from their later albums, but this one just gets me. It was written as a soundtrack for a French movie "The Valley" but the band fell out with the film company, prompting them to release the soundtrack album as Obscured by Clouds.

So underrated. I was 13 when I bought this album. I had only owned Beatles and Stones albums before this one. Floyd's Obscured by Clouds was my doorway into so much more great music.

Lyrics: Obscured by Clouds: (Instrumental) When You’re In: (Instrumental) Burning Bridges: Bridges burning gladly, Merging with the shadows, Flickering between the lines. Stolen moments floating softly on the air, Born on wings of fire and climbing higher. Ancient bonds are breaking, Moving on and changing sides. Dreaming of a new day, Cast aside the other way. Magic visions stirring, Kindled by and burning flames rise in her eyes. The door stands ajar, The wall that once were high. Beyond the gilded cage, Beyond the reach of ties. The moment is at hand. She breaks the golden band. The Gold It’s in the…: Come on, my friends, Let's make for the hills. They say there's gold but I'm looking for thrills. You can get your hands on whatever we find, Because I'm only coming along for the ride. Well, you go your way, I'll go mine. I don't care if we get there on time. Everybody's searching for something, they say. I'll get my kicks on the way. Over the mountains, across seas, Who knows what will be waiting for me? I could sail forever to strange sounding names. Faces of people and places don't change. All I have to do is just close my eyes To see the seagulls wheeling in those far distant skies. All I want to tell you, All I want to say is count me in on the journey. Don't expect me to stay. Wot’s… Uh the Deal: Heaven sent the promised land Looks alright from where I stand 'Cause I'm the man on the outside looking in Waiting on the first step Show me where the key is kept Point me down the right line because it's time To let me in from the cold Turn my lead into gold 'Cause there's a chill wind blowing in my soul And I think I'm growing old Flash the readies wot's... uh the deal Got to make it to the next meal Try to keep up with the turning of the wheel. Mile after mile Stone after stone You turn to speak but you're alone A million miles from home you're on your own So let me in from the cold Turn my lead into gold 'Cause there's a chill wind blowing in my soul And I think I'm growing old Fire bright by candlelight With her by my side And if she prefers we will never stir again Someone sent the promised land And I grabbed it with both hands Now I'm the man on the inside looking out Hear me shout 'Come on in. What's the news and where you been?’ Cause there's no wind left in my soul And I've grown old Mudmen: (Instrumental) Childhood’s End: You shout in your sleep Perhaps the price is just too steep Is your conscience at rest if once put to the test? You awake with a start to just the beating of your heart Just one man beneath the sky Just two ears, just two eyes You set sail across the sea of long past thoughts and memories Childhood's end Your fantasies merge with harsh realities And then as the sail is hoist You find your eyes are growing moist All the fears never voiced say you have to make your final choice Who are you and who am I to say we know the reason why? Some are born Some men die beneath one infinite sky There'll be war, there'll be peace But everything one day will cease All the iron turned to rust All the proud men turned to dust And so all things, time will mend So this song will end Free Four: One, two, free, four! The memories of a man in his old age Are the deeds of a man in his prime. You shuffle in the gloom of the sickroom And talk to yourself as you die. Life is a short warm moment And death is a long cold rest. You get your chance to try In the twinkling of an eye Eighty years, with luck, or even less. So all aboard for the American tour, And maybe you'll make it to the top. But mind how you go. I can tell you, 'cause I know. You may find it hard to get off. You are the angel of death And I am the dead man's son. He was buried like a mole in a fox hole. And everyone is still on the run. And who is the master of fox hounds? And who says the hunt has begun? And who calls the tune in the courtroom? And who beats the funeral drum? The memories of a man in his old age Are the deeds of a man in his prime. You shuffle in the gloom of the sickroom And talk to yourself as you die. Stay: Stay And help me to end the day. And if you don't mind We'll break a bottle of wine. Stick around And maybe we'll put one down, 'Cause I wanna find What lies behind those eyes. Midnight blue Burning gold A yellow moon Is growing cold I rise Looking through my morning eyes, Surprised To find you by my side. Rack my brain To try to remember your name To find The words to tell you goodbye. Morning dues Newborn day Midnight blue Turn to gray Midnight blue Burning gold A yellow moon Is growing cold Absolutely Curtains: (Instrumental with wordless vocals)
Aquí empieza el subidón, un año antes "Meddle" y madre mía lo que venía a continuación, música eterna que a día de hoy tiene la misma vigencia que cuando fue grabada.
This album honestly fits perfectly between Meddle and The Dark Side Of The Moon. The sound here is almost identical to Dark Side, however it still has an evolution of theme present just like Meddle. Dark Side is essentially this album with an overarching theme and made denser musically
Yes. You can appreciate there are a lot of raw elements in this that would be used to create the more fully developed DSOTM. Looking back it seems rather obvious but I suppose at the time it was released people couldn't know what was to come and thus this album didn't create any headlines.
I was 15 yo when I bought "Obscured by clouds" in 1972-73. It was the soundtrack of Barbet Schroeder's film "La Vallée" with his very pretty wife Bulle Ogier. Incidentally, this movie gave me the New-Guinea fauna virus, for the rest of my life. At 18, I made my first solo trip to PNG. Back then, Port Moresby was already a cut-throat. I then visited Lae and Bulolo but I missed Popondetta. Most of the time you had to fly Air Newguini. The road to Mount Hagen being just opened, I travelled to the Highlands by truck. Then Madang, Wewak and Vanimo. After my PhD, I made more trips to New Guinea, and ended up working in rural development for the next 25 years in the western Indonesian part (Irian Jaya). "Obscured by clouds" is actually the feeling you have in the pristine primary forest when you wake up and see networks of valleys downhill covered with white mist under blankets of dark clouds announcing the next rain. A wonderful soundtrack anyway. Popol Vuh also composed the music of "Aguirre, der Zorn Gottes", one of Werner Herzog's masterpieces. A must-see, with a magnificent Klaus Kinski. As to Klaus Schulze, he made "Body Love" (Blanche), a very nice record for a trivial porn movie. May our dear KS rest in peace. Amen.
Oddly this is my favorite album. It takes me back to when I was in Louisiana for a few years and my brother scored a few peyote buttons. We still had everything in boxes and I dug out the record player ( Google it if you are lost) and laid on a couch with the boxes towering over me.
I found this album quite by accident one late night. I was listening to Music Choice on cable several years ago. when the title track was played. I looked for the album online and ordered it. Pure gold! It's and underated album that is for certain. Awesome music!!!
I will say it again.... Nick Mason. A drummer like no other for painting mood and 'space' with percussion. Such a good album for him in particular. Long time not heard. There's a lot to be said for lockdown.
Pink Floyd developed such a unique trippy mellow vibe that just became more and more brilliantly polished by Dark Side of the Moon. Much of this lesser known soundrack stuff is just as enjoyable to listen to, especially after already being familiar with the more popular material, it's like bonus greatness!
Just before The Dark Side of the Moon and the PF explosion that came after it. From The Piper at the Gates of Dawn all the way to this album PF played a unique style of psychedelic rock and then they went to the moon with Dark Side, IWYWH, Animals, and The Wall. Absolutely incredible!!!

Listening this masterpiece somewhere in the Atacama Desert.. can't describe the air, the silence and the morning clouds above me. Thanks Pink Floyd
Just looked up "Atacama Desert" on Google maps. Wow

Damn bro, sounds like you've had an interesting life. Tell me some more?
Pink Floyd por siempre ! La mejor banda de rock progresivo del mundo!
Pink Floyd have been the soundtrack of my life since first hearing them in1970!🎶🙌💙
Likewise:)

Mine too 😃
Here i am, just turned 65 on the first and listening to this Lp again. 😎🎶👍🏻🎉
Hi there, im 68 and i heard this album in 73 on my 1st acid trip
50 years ago today, this album was released. Definitely the middle child, between Meddle and DSOTM, but undeniably an underrated gem in the line up. Happy 50th, Obscured By Clouds!
Here here …always loved this album more than most
I love this more than The Wall. Make no mistake, I love that album too but Obscured by Clouds trumps over it.
One of my favorites, maybe the first Pink Floyd album I ever bought

Exactly. Couldn't have been said any better.
Sometimes I can't stop listening to Pink Floyd!❤🎶
I listen to them every day. have for decades...♥

Assolutamente unici
I bet if Chef Ramsey showed up at your house, you'd pause the Floyd to see what the hell all that was about.
Not sure what chef Ramsey has to do w/ anything?
This was the first album by the Floyd and I’ve been listening ever since! I’m now 68 and ❤️Pink Floyd!
FIRST WAS PIPER AT THE GATES OVE DAWN
Seems people forget about UMMA GUMMA.
It's their seventh album, but it's so good. It's almost forgotten.
You mean "the first album I heard by them", right?
It was the first album of the Floyd I listened to and I was hooked!
Definitely have cigar vibe my guy
even some songs similar to other bands in that era . surprised their's no copyright infringments
Best
Fair, but let's not forget Syd Barrett
In my opinion Dave's voice is one of the best vocalists in rock business, strong masculine, honest.
I remember when I was introduced to Pink Floyd, as a teenager in the late ‘70’s. It was dark side of the moon, meddle, and obscured by clouds. I instantly took to this music… Played it endlessly. Still love it❤👍☮️🎸
It's absolutely fascinating hearing David Gilmour arrive at his iconic soaring guitar style on this album.
Exactly! Well spotted sir.
I think their soundtracks are a separate category unlike anything else they did
@@pabloj4104 compare this to meddle, it is very very similar but it does seem a bit closer to their classic sound in dark side and WYWH
@@belladonichaze3213 totally agree, it's a complimentary album to Meddle.
Listen to Burning Bridges again... then tell me this doesn't fit into Dark Side perfectly.
Ich war 1973 oder 74 auf einem Pink Floyd Konzert in Toulouse (Frankreich), da haben sie diese Stücke aber nicht gespielt! Die sind ja nur GEIL!!!!
Today is 50 years since the album was released. Shine on you crazy diamonds!
It's amazing how many Pink Floyd 'fans' I've spoken to, who have never heard of this, and also "More" - another great and under-rated album.
Watch the movie more I have everything they have put out
I bought this cd years ago. And LOVE IT to death!!!!!!
I am one of those. Meddle and Dark Side are my faves. Some how I never heard this though I knew of it. 50 years later I am enlightened
don't think many readers know about 'More.' but they do now....
my 1st taste of this band was '
If someone asks how they went from Meddle to Dark side of the moon, this album is the answer. They already found their sound, but with this album they acomodated their sound to a much comercial vibe, the key of their success.
Absolutely brilliant album and criminally underrated
Not underrated in the slightest!
@markrae1317 Also this album was actually the soundtrack for a film called la vallee and not a regular release
Childhood's End

You shout in your sleep
Perhaps the price is just too steep
Is your conscious at rest
If once put to the test
You awake with a start
To just the beating of your heart
Just one man beneath the sky
Just two ears just two eyes
You set sail across the sea
Of long past thoughts and memories
Childhood's end your fantasies
Merge with harsh realities
And then as the sail is hoist
You find your eyes are growing moist
And all the fears never voiced
Say you have to make the final choice
Who are you and who am I
To say we know the reason why
Some are born some men die

There'll be war there'll be peace
But everything one day will cease
All the iron turn to rust
All the proud men turn to dust
So all things time will mend

Two hits of Windowpain, a set of headphones, this record and BLAST OFF! Good times. Thank you Floyd
Not to be a nitpicker, but- "Windowpane". I was always partial to Goony Bird or Clownface, but whatever floats your boat. :)
Windowpane...but who cares about semantics?

Easily my favorite Floyd album. And that's saying something.
Easily my bro, just let it burn!
Not my favorite but so underrated. A great "spacey" album. One of Floyd's greatest qualities.
good call!
It's not my favorite but there is something so pure, timeless and emotional about this album. I love it.
OMG, first time I've ever heard of this album and I'm over the age of 50. Listening to the first track has got its hook into me. Those keyboards are quite nice on track 2. Going down the rabbit hole, and I'm loving it. I'm really loving Pink Floyd so much more in my older age.
Lmao bro. There is alot more unknown Pink Floyd stuff out here. Keep looking and enjoy
Hey there, Craig. I am glad knowing you have found it! Even though it was a soundtrack it is more song oriented than some others and really quite rocking! I got it the year it was released and am sure I have listened to it more than any other PF album. Peace, brother!
So much cool PF music between 1967 & dark side;
This is actually my favorite Pink Floyd album

I'm 70 and your comment rings true in my life also.
PF ‘s albums are complete experiential territories constructed out of pure musical talent . Obscured by the Clouds takes us to …precisely the clouds
This is one of my favorite pink Floyd albums. 💗 have it on vinyl since the 70s
I always heard the magic. And loved the album title
Another great from a legendary band.
Pure bliss.
Show
também acho, ainda é o meu favorito .... eu tinha em K7.
VOZ SYD FAZ FALTA
Uma boa forma de não menosprezar outras bandas é não colocar PF na categoria "rock progressivo", já que isso faz da categoria uma competição injusta, Pink Floyd é de subgênero próprio
Childhoods end …what can I say , it really does take me back to the good times …forever grateful ❤️
Minęło 50 lat od premiery i nadal czuje jego moc, siłę, piękno muzyki - genialny!
@@BeardedDubstep can't deny that after Syd left the band's style changed quite a lot. And it's also undeniable that Gilmour makes you feel every chord
I watched “The Valley” knowing this album was the soundtrack. Kinda weird, not bad, but definitely carried by the Floyd soundtrack.
@@BeardedDubstep lmao the most popular stuff they put out was with Gilmore. I wouldn’t say he was the main member then but certainly had a big impact.
@@duckswearinggloves305 He definitely did. He's an ok guitarist, but the way he plays definitely fits their sound very well. Not skilled, but for sure an excellent fit and an iconic sound.
I remember playing this on 8 track in my 68 GTO i love this album!!! I forgot that every song is stellar on this album !!!
The only down fall with 8 tracks was when the head turned over in the middle of a song....but it didn't matter cause you were in control of the music in your vehicle....
What a sweet ride that would of been.
Ah! The tragedy of having to splice favourite tapes
David’s vocals are so sweet and soothing……I’ve always wondered why he gets no love in the pantheon of lead singers……..
I've never listened to this album! Masterful, delicate and beautiful! Thank you for sharing ✨
For me this is the most complete and coherent of PF's early albums, also the most natural and easiest to listen toover and over.

I personally think this is the best Pink Floyd album ever! Not to take away from their later albums, but this one just gets me. It was written as a soundtrack for a French movie "The Valley" but the band fell out with the film company, prompting them to release the soundtrack album as Obscured by Clouds.
I saw the film once, rather strange but the music was great.
@@davidfay5683 Awesome!! I figured it would be strange, but the music is unparalleled. Only the "Wish You Were Here" album touched me as much as this one did, and still does.

Lyrics:
Obscured by Clouds:
(Instrumental)
When You’re In:
(Instrumental)
Burning Bridges:
Bridges burning gladly,
Merging with the shadows,
Flickering between the lines.
Stolen moments floating softly on the air,
Born on wings of fire and climbing higher.
Ancient bonds are breaking,
Moving on and changing sides.
Dreaming of a new day,
Cast aside the other way.
Magic visions stirring,
Kindled by and burning flames rise in her eyes.
The door stands ajar,
The wall that once were high.
Beyond the gilded cage,
Beyond the reach of ties.
The moment is at hand.
She breaks the golden band.
The Gold It’s in the…:
Come on, my friends,
Let's make for the hills.
They say there's gold but I'm looking for thrills.
You can get your hands on whatever we find,
Because I'm only coming along for the ride.
Well, you go your way,
I'll go mine.
I don't care if we get there on time.
Everybody's searching for something, they say.
I'll get my kicks on the way.
Over the mountains, across seas,
Who knows what will be waiting for me?
I could sail forever to strange sounding names.
Faces of people and places don't change.
All I have to do is just close my eyes
To see the seagulls wheeling in those far distant skies.
All I want to tell you,
All I want to say is count me in on the journey.
Don't expect me to stay.
Wot’s… Uh the Deal:
Heaven sent the promised land
Looks alright from where I stand
'Cause I'm the man on the outside looking in
Waiting on the first step
Show me where the key is kept
Point me down the right line because it's time
To let me in from the cold
Turn my lead into gold
'Cause there's a chill wind blowing in my soul
And I think I'm growing old
Flash the readies wot's... uh the deal
Got to make it to the next meal
Try to keep up with the turning of the wheel.
Mile after mile
Stone after stone
You turn to speak but you're alone
A million miles from home you're on your own
So let me in from the cold
Turn my lead into gold
'Cause there's a chill wind blowing in my soul
And I think I'm growing old
Fire bright by candlelight
With her by my side
And if she prefers we will never stir again
Someone sent the promised land
And I grabbed it with both hands
Now I'm the man on the inside looking out
Hear me shout 'Come on in. What's the news and where you been?’
Cause there's no wind left in my soul
And I've grown old

All the iron turned to rust

Free Four:
One, two, free, four!
The memories of a man in his old age
Are the deeds of a man in his prime.
You shuffle in the gloom of the sickroom
And talk to yourself as you die.
Life is a short warm moment
And death is a long cold rest.
You get your chance to try
In the twinkling of an eye
Eighty years, with luck, or even less.
So all aboard for the American tour,
And maybe you'll make it to the top.
But mind how you go.
I can tell you, 'cause I know.
You may find it hard to get off.
You are the angel of death
And I am the dead man's son.
He was buried like a mole in a fox hole.
And everyone is still on the run.
And who is the master of fox hounds?
And who says the hunt has begun?
And who calls the tune in the courtroom?
And who beats the funeral drum?
The memories of a man in his old age
Are the deeds of a man in his prime.
You shuffle in the gloom of the sickroom
And talk to yourself as you die.
Stay:
Stay
And help me to end the day.
And if you don't mind
We'll break a bottle of wine.
Stick around
And maybe we'll put one down,
'Cause I wanna find
What lies behind those eyes.
Midnight blue
Burning gold
A yellow moon
Is growing cold
I rise
Looking through my morning eyes,
Surprised
To find you by my side.
Rack my brain
To try to remember your name
To find
The words to tell you goodbye.
Morning dues
Newborn day
Midnight blue
Turn to gray
Midnight blue
Burning gold
A yellow moon
Is growing cold

Aquí empieza el subidón, un año antes "Meddle" y madre mía lo que venía a continuación, música eterna que a día de hoy tiene la misma vigencia que cuando fue grabada.
One of the best Pink Floyd albums, especially for David Gilmour.

Eine ewige Band mit Liedern für die Ewigkeit
Another beautiful piece of Pink Floyd music that "takes-meh-home" every time i listen to it . . .
Been a favourite of mine for years. No.1 band since 1977
I was 15 yo when I bought "Obscured by clouds" in 1972-73.
Amen.
This album was an inspiration and influence I use to listen to this album on cassette tape or on friends vinyls when I was a kid or teenager ❤❤❤❤❤

I always wished they had done an extended version of Obscured by Clouds (track1). I could listen to that groove for a half hour or so.
There is a live more psychedelic version of it on UA-cam. It's crazy amazing. Ricks on fire.
hour or so is fine luckily we been for over almost 50 years or so.Those dudes knew about frequencies like magicians.
By far one if not the most underrated album they made
This is my favorite floyd album...these 4 guys are brilliant and each song here is a masterpiece thanks for a stellar quality album
One of their best and only a few of know it. Here are some of us now.
Hugely unheralded album.
And Mudmen. Closet Classic.
This is a magnificent album.. V innovative and some fine Mellow tracks thrown in
انا من عشاق بيك فلويد . انهم يبدعون في الموسقى التي تسافر بالروح إلى اقصى المتعة النفسية والسكون الميتفزيقي.🎉
You nailed it live at Pompeii
Still to this day I remember that concert my twin brother and I.
In memory of a young man grown old.....I must CARE for this One...I remember all he's been through. I Can And Will Care till the end. Pitiful to WATCH....😢
GIVESS MEEE SO CHILL TO LISTEN THIS ALBUM WHILE TRIPPIN ON ACIDDDDDD
Clássico eterno, melhores tempos, quantas saudades
Pink Floyd is such a great band. I can't understand why they are so underated?? Their music is so dynamic, intense, thought provocating and beautiful. I can't believe all the different albums they have that I am just now discovering at 62. Thanks to UA-cam and all the great contributers who upload them.
GOD bless you all. ❤❤
Never a disappointment with them, all their music is a wonderful adventure I never grow tired of their music/sounds
Fifty Years Ago:
Listened to this album on 8 Track in my customized '66 Chevy half ton pickup--door to door carpet. bucket seats, five speaker stereo with dual headphones jacks, chrome reverse wheels with 60 series tires. Now those were Great Times!
