It is the town Pripyat 3 km from Chernobyl that people were evacuated from a couple of days after the accident on april 26th 1986. Nature has reclaimed a part of the area and some roads. Buildings are falling apart due to the lack of maintainence . I was 15 at the time. This video also makes me emotional. I enjoy watching your reaction videos.
Hi if you’re from that area I’m sorry for the loss of life of many people. I was a teen when this happened and I saw many sick kids that were placed in Cuba and hospitalized in Havana. I could see the faces of many of them every morning through the Hospital windows. Those images from that city past/present brought me back many memories and tears. ☮️☮️♥️♥️♥️
@@omaramador4669I was not aware of that part of the history of Chernobyl, moving some of the casualties to Cuba? Was that part of the Soviet way of covering up the numbers? Terribly sad.
Also this is the abandoned city of Pripyat, Ukraine, where the Chernobyl nuclear station was. AFAIK it's the real place, it's not immediately life threatening to go there (if you don't overstay) and people have been known to go there and film. Hell, Top Gear did it. Loved how little time this one took to take you to tears haha
Pripyat is still hot in some places, a friend of mine filmed there a few years ago and they had to be careful stirring up too much dust and dirt because it was still very radioactive where they were at
"Marooned" is another one of David Gilmour's and Rick Wright's timeless songs. It was a statement that Pink Floyd could continue without Roger Waters. The sound was reminiscent of their legendary performances, where all emotions were let loose. When "The Division Bell" was released, I couldn't afford the vinyl, so I bought the cassette tape, which still had amazing analog quality. That evening, my perspective on life changed. I remember it like it was yesterday. I knew Pink Floyd was recording a new album, but I couldn't believe how incredible this song was! It's still one of my favorites, even after 30 years. Time flies by quickly. David Gilmour's talent is out of this world, he's just one of a kind. Cheers and thank you, Stacey! You took me back in time since I have not heard it for a while. Sometimes the best things are not for everyday! Again, thank you!
I turned 65 years old a few days ago. It is good to see you in tears in 2024 listening to my favorite band from the time I reached 17 years old. This is not music that will ever be obsolete or old. This band has carried me though so many years and I hope to be listening to "Sorrow" live when I pass on. (eta: and Comfortably Numb, if there's time!)
David Gilmour is a mind blowing, soul bending maestro... he's virtually flawless and one of the most emotional, melodic guitarists on the planet, ever. Also, this is a David Gilmour/Richard Wright piece and sounds like it. They were magic together.
Young Stacey, seeing you fighting back the tears is starting to become a habit, don’t ever be ashamed or embarrassed at really feeling the music. After all you’re a pretty lady and should show your feelings. No one here will belittle you. It’s a privilege to be allowed to share those moments with you.
This is the first time I've seen a video with this song. The "Division Bell" is perfection IMO, the songs take you on a journey. My wife and I loved to play this start to finish in while taking a back roads country setting drive in a '78 TransAm equipped with a custom sound system...many great memories! Thankyou Stacey, this made my day for sure! "Marooned" has new meaning now that she passed 5 yrs. ago.
First time I heard this song, when it came out, I was going through a recent breakup, and it reduced me to an emotional pulp. The Great Gig In The Sky was there when cancer took my mother and Echoes when my grandmother departed. Pink Floyd is entangled in my life, for the good and the bad.
Stacey, this is one of the greatest instrumentals of all time, and a track that stands up to any instrumentals Pink Floyd has ever done. You should react to Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield. He writes beautiful instrumental music and songs.
Dave said that Rick and himself did almost all this on his houseboat one evening. We are marooned on this planet and this video is a reminder what can happen. No better pair of song writers. Glad someone requested, which I knew why the whole you tube thing maybe copyrights.
The morning I found out my grandfather had passed, as I drove to his house, this was on. It's a short drive, and only took a little longer than the length of the tune, but even now, years later, it's so incredibly cathartic.
i love the fact that you feel Pink Floyd. that just shows they are timeless & today people dont take the time to "Listen" they can't handle a 12 min song etc. Pink Floyd is For the Mind & Soul. and damn girl you tear up a lot! 8-) love your channel
This instantly became my favorite reaction of yours! I haven't heard this song in a long time and had almost forgotten how amazing it is. It's so beautiful and soothing. I started to tear up a little myself and love to see David's playing affect others as it does me.
It's actually the town of pripyat evacuated because of Chernobyl. They evacuated 70 to 80,000 people overnight! This song really does make you feel like you're in space!
This is the very first time for me also.Think of all those little children they too are little islands emotionally marooned from guidance throughout their lives . Davids playing is a long hopeful , tearful insightful look at society's own marooned dis connect . I thought it to very educating for me .

In 1973, after Dark Side of the Moon was released, all four members of Pink Floyd became notorious for not giving interviews. This continued all the way until the late 1980's when each one started talking to the press again, mostly regarding Roger Waters leaving the band. Even though there was no Pink Floyd release in 1978, it was still a pivotal year. David, Rick and Nick would all three release solo albums while Roger was developing what would become the Wall. What is obvious when listening to the first David GIlmour solo album and Rick Wrights Wet Dream as well as the Wall is that with the gigantic success they had reached, each man was incredibly isolated. I would like to recommend you react to David Gilmour's "There's No Way Out of Here".
So happy you listened to and enjoyed this song. It's one of my favorites. I knew you would love it because your love of his guitar playing. He is a true artist. Especially with this one. Words with no Words. Beautiful 💗
As someone who grew up with Floyd at the perfect time, (a teen in the 70’s) I’ve always been a fan of Roger Waters to this day. His recent Tours I’ve attended are similarly massive and as impressive as David, Rick and Nick’s Tours were after Roger left. Sat front row center for The Pulse Tour and will happily take issue with the purists who have disrespected the later albums produced without Roger. Momentary Lapse, Delicate Sound, Divisions Bell, while not Dark Side, Wish and The Wall, are no less impressive and musically important to The Pink Floyd Catalog. Their consistency of the highest quality of music over these many yrs remains astonishing. Marooned is a perfect example…..✨
This song always hits right in my heart. I were listening to this song when my mother came into my room telling me that my best friend since kindergarden were dead, ever since that day this song always reminds me of that day and of him. Check this song out when David played it during the 50TH fender anniversary, that is the performance i listened to during that moment.
Sometimes David Gilmour doesn't need lyrics to make you cry, just six strings and his job is done! Bless the people that suggested Marooned for you to react, Stacey❤
Hi Stacey i watch a lot of reviews on Pink Floyd you are the only one that feels the music and hears the wonderful lyrics and that's why you get emotional listening to them can you imagine me when in the 1970s Pink Floyd came into my life. Love to watch your reviews Stacey so good xx
You're journey of Pink Floyd music has become addictive to watch by many of us who lived through it when it was new. I am very impressed that after hearing the songs one time, you hit the nail on the head with what they were trying to convey in their music and lyrics. I am so looking forward to your listening to the entire album of Dark Side Of The Moon.

You convey exactly what a PF fan feels when listening to these masterpieces. I'm rediscovering these songs with tremendous pleasure, thanks to you, Stacey.
Nice to see you listening to Pink Floyd again. It's been a long time since you listened to the Pulse concert. There is still the opening song for the entire concert to listen to: "Shine On You Crazy Diamond". And some other songs from Pulse are still there to listen to as well. Good job, keep going. 😉
Never apologize for having emotions after experiencing Pink Floyd, Stacey. I would imagine they've left every fan in that state at some point. I understand that this is the only PF song that has ever won a Grammy - 1995 for Best Rock Instrumental Performance :)
This is one of the most unique Pink Floyd songs imo and you feel David’s guitar especially emotional in "Marooned"! Yeah, the second part of the video was filmed in Pripyat, the city close to the nuclear power plant in Tschernobyl. Such a sad fait the people there had to go through back in 1986. Another Pink Floyd suggestion of mine would be "Poles Apart", which is the song that is listed directly before "Marooned" on the Division Bell album. "Poles Apart" is so atmospheric and has one of the most beautiful and guitar solos in the end of the song imo! 🙏🏼🫶🏼🥹🎸
😅😊🤗❤️ It is an absolute pleasure for me to be able to watch you on your PF journey Stace 😊🤗 And now you're saying it... "I hate to interrupt a David Gilmour solo!"😅 I have never heard this song before! 🫤 That guitar didn't even sound like a guitar during the space scene. That man's guitar is the speaker of his soul!!! You said something at the end that made me sad at the thought of it Stace! You said, "I don't think we'll have another David Gilmour again!" 😢 Who could replace him once he is gone??? There is no one even close!!! I'm not looking forward to that day 😪 Another AWESOME reaction Stace 🤗❤
David and Rick playing together is pure magic. Their music makes you feel things there are no words for. That's why we are speachless. They are actuallya live show of this song. Pretty awsome
So enjoying your Pink Floyd reactions - Hope you know David Gilmour is releasing his latest album today 6th Sept. Will be great to see you react to his solo stuff as well- he's a genius.
I am glad that you reviewed Marrooned. David is a true artist. Some artist use a paint brush to paint a picture. David's paint brush is his guitar. David is truly our Michaelangelo or Rembrandt
Love Stacy,s reviews so emotional and honest her reactions to Pink Floyed is priceless I wish David would invite her to one of his shows or to meet him and his family .that what be a memorable part of her life .
Gilmour is the Exalted Master of emotionally charged guitar playing. Richard's contribution to this is as great as David's. The main theme as stated by the piano part, is unquestionably Richard's. Think "Us and Them." David takes off from Richard's melancholy chords and blasts it into the stratosphere. That sounds to me like Peak Floyd.
Love your emotional reaction. A beautiful instrumental song for sure. This was me and girlfriend’s passionate song. Unfortunately she passed away. Now it’s kinda hard to listen to this song. This was the first time hearing it since our last time. Thank you so much for your reactions. Since you love David’s work, I highly recommend On An Island in its entirety. You WILL get emotional. Gilmour plays the sax 😮
God! So well said on every spectrum of your entrpritation of David & the state of musicians today. Your Soul is gorgeous for the love of music. Never stop. Peace & Strength
Another comment, sorry. You might want to look up some of the longer interviews on youtube with Gilmour. Watch the long ones. You get to feel what kind of a person David is. The interviews of Richard Wright and Nick Mason, and even Roger Waters, are all good to watch. But Gilmour reminds me so much of my dad....a kind of modest, intelligent and gifted person. My mom and dad are gone, as Dad left us in 2019, mom earlier. Both of them really enjoyed the album Dark Side of the Moon, which I played one stormy night when the electricity went. We gathered in the den, with a fire, to wait it out. I had a "boom box" and slipped in the cassette. My parents were both mesmerized. It's one of my favorite memories, and no words were necessary.
Saw this live on the Pulse Tour, they are one of the very few artists who don't need lyrics, their musical skills ate so off the charts. Nice cut and review, brownie points to you for mentioning Chernobyl, something that Generation Z might not be familiar with, Millenials are more likely to be aware of it. You Rock Stacey, you are the sunshine in my days. Enjoy! 🔥🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶🔥
Great reaction, Stacey! You're right... there will never be another David Gilmour. Pink Floyd was one of the greats... like Bach or Mozart. People will still be mesmerized 100 years from now.
Something cool to know about this solo - He's using a whammy pedal which allows him to transpose his notes a whole octave above by pushing on a pedal which is why he's getting such high pitched notes
Can see how much you now love PF and especially the guitar work of DG..its a joy to see how emotional you get ,,as im a 55yr old guy and feel the same deep down,,love watchin and listening to your assessments Stacey, keep up the good work❤
Hiya Stacey! Another wonderful and heartfelt reaction! Question for you....Have you ever explored the music of Kate Bush and the role David Gilmour played in the development of her career? You may want to check out a Kate Bush/David Gilmour performance of 'Running Up That Hill' live from The Secret Policeman's 3rd ball, 1987 at some point.....Please carry on with your Floyd reactions, you've still a long way to go....which is great!
Hey Stacey, love to see people my age keeping bands like pf alive. So thank you for what you do; I also enjoy seeing how their music touches your soul too. If you take suggestions from comments, I'd love to see you react to On an Island from David Gilmore's solo stuff!
I saw Pink Floyd 4 times and two concerts with David Gilmour one concert in Vredenburg Utrecht in 1983 where I saw David in de bar en start talking with him and we drink a beer together. That’s something I never forget.
Awesome reaction Stacey! If you listen to Marooned with your eyes closed you’ll feel and see an albatross flying around an island as Davids guitar soars you thru the heavens. Also, another PF musical track without vocals you’ll love is “It’s what we do” off there last album The Endless River. It’s incredibly beautiful.
This song always gets me, ALWAYS! I have listened to it for like a million times and still David and his guitar make me cry...The only artist in the world of music that can make that happen. Yes, I'm very emotional when it comes to music.
This is real music. It moves you, it talks to you, it brings up emotion, it takes you on a journey. David is one of the best to ever do it. And give it up for others band members, who add the perfect pieces to accompany the guitar.
Easily a Top 5 Floyd song to me, and one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written. It almost hurts your ears to listen to because the guitar sounds so sharp, it just pierces you. This is just one more reason why no other band competes with the Floyd, they can make you feel such emotions with no lyrics at all... that's just pure musical genius.
Great pick: Richard Wright and Nick Mason are also part of why David Gilmour's guitars shine and stand out on this track! If I'm not mistaken, I think this song won Pink Floyd its only Grammy. There's a guitarist, Steve Rothery, from the band Marillion (himself a fan of David Gilmour) whose solo album Pripyat (named after the town near Chernobyl) is also quite powerful!
I absolutely love your emotional reaction to this masterpiece. I can't hold back my tears either, always with goosebumps. BTW, the town is the actual abandoned village of Pripyat near the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine.
David Gilmour doesn't plug his guitar into an amp. He plugs it into his soul! Simply beautiful song! ❤

Not to be a neek but it wws in 1994 i think it is

😅😊🤗❤️ It is an absolute pleasure for me to be able to watch you on your PF journey Stace 😊🤗
And now you're saying it... "I hate to interrupt a David Gilmour solo!"😅
I have never heard this song before!
I'm not looking forward to that day 😪
Another AWESOME reaction Stace 🤗❤
David and Rick playing together is pure magic. Their music makes you feel things there are no words for. That's why we are speachless. They are actuallya live show of this song. Pretty awsome
I knew this would be your favorite album. A bottle of wine Division Bell and someone to love is a complete life. 🌻
Always like when Nick's drums come in. So deep, rich , and bassy
Gorgeous instrumental from Division Bell. David and Rick took us into the stars. Magnificent.
The video has been filmed in Pripyat near Tchernobyl.
Probably the only Pink Floyd song that I will ALWAYS listen to with my eyes closed and ears wide open.
Love Stacy,s reviews so emotional and honest her reactions to Pink Floyed is priceless I wish David would invite her to one of his shows or to meet him and his family .that what be a memorable part of her life .
Two of the most elegant sounds in my world are Pink Floyd and your narration of songs
You are such an emotional person I love this about you. You feel the pain of the world such a beautiful quality don't ever change.
Stacey, this track means a lot for me, a total jewel from David & Richard, the only Grammy in Pink Floyd´s history belongs to Marooned, awesome!!
God! So well said on every spectrum of your entrpritation of David & the state of musicians today. Your Soul is gorgeous for the love of music. Never stop. Peace & Strength
This is one of their most mesmerizing instrumentals. And I am just so excited to go see David Gilmour in MSG on November 9th.
I have November 5th :) What a treat it will be !
Omg. Is he touring? I’ll have to check locations if he is
@@helenespaulding7562 Luck and strange tour. Starting in US.
Caught the MSG show on the Rattle That Lock tour. Prepare to be enlightened!!
@@pierreboulet1853Yoooo same. Enjoy the show, friend!
You are so right Stacey, “Pink Floyd is the answer”. ❤️🏴🇬🇧
It's from the album Division Bell. Poles Apart, take it back, what you want from me and lost for words are amazing songs as well.
PINK floyd is the ultimate tranquillizer
Quite the opposite actually. They touches the soul and the emotions that provoke aren't what I'd call in that way.
The healing journey continues 🥰
I absolutely love your emotional reaction to this masterpiece.
I can't hold back my tears either, always with goosebumps.
BTW, the town is the actual abandoned village of Pripyat near the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine.
Damn
I feel sad and hopeful at the same time when I listen to Pink Floyd, and I never want to leave.....
"Pink Floyd is the answer." Amen Stacy!
This video was filmed in Ukraine about 10 years ago. Unfortunately there’s even more wreckage now
Such a beautiful song
David's new album is released here in the UK tomorrow morning SMOKINGGGGGGGGGGGGG ❤
