Geoff is such a freak of nature in the best possible way! He held that B0 for 15 seconds! And then hit it twice more throughout the song. Crazy! This Viking epic has us all shook! For recs, if you wanna see a completely different side to VoicePlay, try something like "We Don't Talk About Bruno" or "I Can't Make You Love Me." If you want more epic, go for "Hoist the Colours" or "Dragonborn Comes." Really, you can't go wrong with any of these. 🤩
Awesome reaction. Everything by Voiceplay is perfect. Geoff Castelucci, the bass, has his own channel with a bunch of fantastic videos as well. His latest he released Friday... Man of Constant Sorrow. He clones himself 3-4 times for harmonies. Each with their own name and personality. Jeff, Jeoph, Goff and Daryl. In Man of Constant Sorrow he clones himself 4x. So we get 5 Geoff's.
They did such a fantastic job on this one! Gets you so hyped up. I think you'd really like their cover of Hoist the Colours if you are looking for more vp songs to watch. Or maybe anything from geoff castellucci, the bass, solo channel 😊
Great reaction! The Bass, Geoff said in a live chat that he had to sit in his studio for over 5 hours to lay down his vocals and it was brutal. They filmed this in studio full of led screens. Eli the rock tenor in this, did all of the 3d visuals on the screens. The beatboxer Layne is the one who did the arrangement.
Thanks so much for another great reaction! Yeah, out-of-body is an apt descriptor, lol. Being a metal-head you'd probably like their cover of Carry On (My Wayward Son)!
Just subbed hoping for more VoicePlay! Favorites: Hoist the Colours (EPIC), Wicked Medley, Warriors, Golden Hour, Carry On Wayward Son, Queen in 5 Minutes, Bang, If I Were a Rich Man, We Don't Talk About Bruno, Kiss. All totally incredible!
Fun fact: the Vikings (and the Scots) before they went into battle had a tradition called "flyting" where they would compete with their enemies by exchanging vulgar verbal abuse/insults in a "poetic" form... so essentially they invented rap battles 😂
Before Nothing Else Matters came out, Hoist the Colours (Pirates of the Caribbean 3) was considered the best cover Voiceplay did. If you like see a wide range of what Geoff does (outside of his own channel) Oogie Boogie from Nightmare Before Christmas will make you wish voiceplay was cast in the movie. There is some incredible voice character singing in that too. Hall of the Mountain king is one of their best Halloween themed pieces and remarkable since it is all instrumental from the original.
You were talking about the human voice and how amazing what they are doing is. Layne's beatboxing is truly phenomenal! I have to remind me every time I hear this that J is not really crashing through a creaky wooden door. It's all Layne, all the time!! I'll suggest that you try them with a completely different genre. Go for their cover of I Can't Make You Love Me, it will tear your heart out. Then try the one that wil have you falling out of your chair laughing - In the Hall of the Mountain King. It's orchestral, so there are no lyrics. Voiceplay creates a trollish world of pranksters with an hysterical story line!
I second all of what you said. 🙂 And then let's go for another round trip through "The Dragonborn comes", "Carry on wayward son", and "You're a mean one, mr. Grinch!" 😀
Love your reaction. The bass Geoff is amazing as is the whole group. What I love about Geoff is that you can actually understand what he is sing. There is alot of basses out there, but you can produce that quality of sound.
I love Voice Play, especially love their version of The Oggie Boogie song from Nightmare Before Christmas. The bass singer has his own channel and I love his version of Far Over The Misty Mountain Cold from The Hobbit.
Nice! Thanks fer da great reaction! Other Voiceplay "Power" songs include: "Hoist the Colours" (Pirates of the Carribian), "Dragonborn Comes" (Skyrim), "My Mother Told Me" (Vikings again!), "Halo Theme" (obvious... lol), and others. If ya want yer mind absolutely pasted by a wordless song give "In the Hall of the Mountain King" a whirl. Have fun and enjoy, new sub earned...😁
And please note: keep listening to make sure their isn't anything after the song is over. For instance, the Halo theme has a very important and heartfelt message from their guest/former member after that should not be missed.
Some of the best songs from this group include In The Hall of the Mountain King, Hoist the Colours, If I Were a Rich Man. They also do a lot of really cool Halloween stuff, good to keep in mind when October rolls around. Also, Geoff (the bass singer) has his own channel, where he multitracks and harmonizes with himself, which is also worth checking out. You wouldn't know it from Valhalla Calling, but in addition to bass, he can also sing baritone and tenor.
This is epic. Miracle of sound gave them 10 alehorns out of 10. My Mother Told Me is actually the prequel to this one. Also, Geoff has his own channel, his 2 newest are Sound of Silence and Man of Constant Sorrow. Great reaction, and Welcome to the Voiceplay rabbit hole!!
For more along the epic side of things, try Hoist The Colors. For more theatrics, give Oogie Boogie's Song a go. But basically you can't go wrong when it comes to Voiceplay. They always perform to a consistently high level, and their skills just keep growing over time, when it comes to the singing for sure, but also when it comes to arranging, lighting, costuming, makeup, video production, you name it. They mostly do everything themselves.
Hi, if you want, begin with hoist the colours, then my mother told me: if you prever Halloween: grinning Ghosts, this is Halloween, ooogy booogy, and others, they have so many good stuff, but the masterpiece is now this song "VALLHALLA " . Have fun and be inspired, greetings from Germany
I absolutely love this group and I have them on my Spotify playlist. I hope you are doing well and I’m hanging in there. I hope you and Michelle have a great day.
Geoff and Eli seem to be on a reciprocal - the lower Geoff gets, the higher Eli pushes. He's up in Whitney territory with his rock grit still full force. Voiceplay members have no lanes🤣
Geoff is amazing. There is a video where he does do some throat singing but i can't remember which one. You should definitely check out his solo channel where he clones himself and covers all the harmonies. Love your reaction just subscribed 🥰
Great reaction! These guys are just phenomenal. If you liked this you should check out, my mother told me, hoist the colours, enemy and warriors. Welcome to the rabbit hole.
I'm not quite sure what 'throat singing' entails, but that B0 that Geoff hits and the "spears" note at the end of the phrase 'shields and spears' is done using a subharmonic technique. It involves engaging your so called 'false vocal chords' which reside above the usual ones. Doing so causes a change that effectively lowers the note that you are singing down an octave. There might be some similar techniques involved with throat singing, but I'm not sure. It's a technique that Geoff has been actively working on for a number of years. It's one thing to just be good enough to do a single subharmonic note when you want to, but his ability to move easily back and forth between subharmonics and his normal (if abnormally low, LOL) chest voice is what really blows me away.
That low sustained note you hear from Geoff right at the beginning is a B0 sustained for 15 seconds. That means there is only one white and one black key left on the end of a piano keyboard. It's flabbergasting. This is their best so far, IMHO, but I'd also recommend Dragonborn, Carry On My Wayward Son, I Can't Make You Love Me, Little Mermaid and/or Oogie Boogie, Eleanor Rigby, and Boy Bands in 5 minutes just to give you a cross section of what they can do. They also do a fantastic Queen medley and then a back to back story line with Trapped (Billie Eilish) and Panic!. Watch those together to get the full message. For their best Broadway tune I suggest Wicked. There really isn't a genre they can't do and just kill it.
Great reaction. 😊This is in my top 3 Vp songs/voids. They just get better and better❤🇬🇧
They've done my Mother Told Me, Dragonborn Come from Skyrim, Hoist the Colors (masterpiece!) and so much more. Enjoy the rabbit hole😅
Miracle Of Sound gave them 10 Ale Horns out of 10 on their page. Geoff Castellucci the bass just released his cover of "Man Of Constant Sorrow".
Jeff is actually one of the best Bass singers .. His Voice control is Awesome..
I think you would like their cover of Carry On Wayward Son. It is SO good.
They did "Dream On", you should check it.
Geoff is such a freak of nature in the best possible way! He held that B0 for 15 seconds! And then hit it twice more throughout the song. Crazy! This Viking epic has us all shook! soooo... about that throat singing thoughts you had... you should watch "Voiceplays - my mother told me" :D
Awesome reaction.

You need to check out their cover of "my mother told me". Geoff imitates a war horn perfectly!
Just as FYI , Van Canto is a heavy metal group with 6 vocalists and a drummer. Pieces of Eight was their last album.
that first low note after the "me" was a B0 Subharmonic note, the B0 note is one key away from the end of a piano (A0) which is absolutely insane!!
They did such a fantastic job on this one! Gets you so hyped up. I think you'd really like their cover of Hoist the Colours if you are looking for more vp songs to watch. Or maybe anything from geoff castellucci, the bass, solo channel 😊

I heard someone say that Geoff would be a great Marvel villain. They are all kicking it. I subbed hoping you’ll do more Voiceplay
Thanks so much for another great reaction! Yeah, out-of-body is an apt descriptor, lol. Being a metal-head you'd probably like their cover of Carry On (My Wayward Son)!

Geoff Castellucci is also a beatboxer
For a softer side, True Colours is just phenomenal.
@@stephaniecolpron6379 And "Can't help falling in love" as well 🙂
@@DavideBaroni definitely agree yep.
Though right now, on my way to work and listening to Mr Blue Sky, puts me in happy mode 😁.

If you want a true throw back check out their "Phantom of the Opera" or just pure humor "Road Trip" 😅

Love this song and love your reactions. Yet again, another great reaction my friend :)
THANK YOU!
My Mother told me. First part of Valhala calling
It's too bad you didn't like it. 😆😏 Thank you for reacting to VP. I'm subscribing for that.
Guess I'll just have to keep checking out their music. Maybe, one day, I'll like them. 😁😁 THANK YOU!
The Dragonborne Comes and the Halo theme song are also very well done. You should definitely check those two out
Hi, if you want, begin with hoist the colours, then my mother told me: if you prever Halloween: grinning Ghosts, this is Halloween, ooogy booogy, and others, they have so many good stuff, but the masterpiece is now this song "VALLHALLA " . Have fun and be inspired, greetings from Germany

Thanks man!
Terrific reaction!

Great reaction as always!

You might find the Oogie Boogie Song from Nightmare Before Christmas - I did a quick look but if you have done it yet, I missed it.
Great reaction! These guys are just phenomenal. If you liked this you should check out, my mother told me, hoist the colours, enemy and warriors. Welcome to the rabbit hole.
🤘
Hoist the Colors and Carry on Wayward Son would be two I'd listen to. If you want pure vocals, they did a version of the Halo theme that was amazing.
❤❤❤🎉

makes you want to sharpen an ax and launch the longships.
OWOO OWOO OWOO!
Check out Hoist the Colours!
You need to watch all the way to the end sometimes that information at the end of the video
You should try Voiceplay …Oogie boogie❤❤
Human voice yes, plus some stomping and chest slapping. Basically no instruments. If that doesn't stir the blood nothing will.:)
