There are a couple common souces of clunking, banging and rattling from the front suspension of your car or truck: ball joints, control arm bushings, and sway bar links! In this video, Sue shows you where and how to check for wear on these components that can lead to clunks, bangs, and bumps!

A lot of these repairs I can't do on my own. No shop. No ramp. Living in an apartment complex, no private garage, no electrical outlet, no storage for equipment or tools, but good knowledge in the videos for future reference or to bring up eith my mechanic. I like the mechanic in the video. She sort of speaks in layman's terms, so I understand what she is explaining. Very knowledgeable. 👍.
All you need is a jack , jack stands , a socket set few wrenches and your good too go maybe a breaker to help loosen the tire lug nuts

You're literally making excuses. I live in NYC in an apartment and keep simple tools to do all the work on my car myself while freezing my ass off on the sidewalk. You don't need a garage, electrical outlet, no private garage, etc. All you need is the determination to do the job.
Try to find a spot in your neighborhood you can do some work at and not bother anyone.. unless it is against the rules of the neighborhood and they enforce it.
Sue is my favorite tech. She does a great job explaining things in a way that just makes sense. Just subscribed to see if she will be on more often :D

Another outstanding video from you guys. I just redid the entire front suspension on my crown vic. All went well but the Pittman arm was a bear. Had to cut it and drive a chisel in it to get it off .

I have 2 foresters like the one in the beginning of the video and have always had slight wobble at high speeds. I always saw the control arm bushings were dry but Mechanics told me not to worry about it. Great info👍
Foresters are notorious for control arm bushings to go bad.
I have a 2010 forester 123k miles does the same but mine is bumpy too.

Thanks so much for your video!! Losing my mind trying to figure out what was causing the strange wum-wum-wum loud road sound in the front end of my 2001 Silverado ext cab 2WD. Was considering the wheel bearing assembly might be to blame. Still have to wiggle the wheel and test for that. Tires are showing a little cupping.. been making the sound for about a month or so now. Just this week it started that nasty creaking sound you so clearly demonstrate in your video. Got to jack the thing up tomorrow and do some investigating. Thanks for the wonderful information!!
Those control arm bushings sound exactly like mine so pretty sure that's my issue, thanks so much my usual mechanic just said everything looked fine when I asked him about it

I had a control arm start to come apart from rust. I was surprised because the car was in really good shape with low mileage. Fortunately I found it before it found me. I got new parts from this channel. She’s been good since.

This is very helpful. I just replaced front struts/shocks on my odyssey, now the steering shakes over 60 pmh. Now I know what to check for.

Good video. I had a rattle in my Volov V70 recently, and it was sway bar links. Done my control arms 3 times. Doing tie rod ends right now - I have sounds when I make left turns - left inner one is bad.

For a Taurus/Explorer/Flex, its not easy to replace a lower control arm bushing, need a heavy duty press, easier to replace entire arm assembly. Another great video
Yeah I have a bad bushing on my passenger control arm need too change before this road trip from Florida to Ohio. Change many things the clunking noise won’t go away give my second thoughts bout driving that far
09 scion xb.. both tie rod ends are ripped letting debris get it. These guys are legends with these kids man. Props always. I'm getting mine done..

My sway bars clunking BAD on my passenger side in the front . I was glad to find out it was cheap and not a major life threatening issue
