to my health journey! My name is Katherina, and I am documenting my journey after undergoing Gastric Bypass Roux-en-Y surgery on December 22, 2022. Follow along as I share my experience and progress. From my highest weight of 356 pounds in January 2020, I've been determined to improve my health and overcome conditions like diabetes, hypothyroidism, high blood pressure, and endometriosis. As a stroke survivor, I'm committed to preventing another one. I'm a proud mother of two boys and a stepmother to a wonderful young lady, and with the love and support of my family, friends, medical team, and the strength from a higher power, I'm dedicated to conquering my food addiction and overcoming binge habits. On this channel, I'll share both my struggles and successes, hoping to provide value, motivation, and encouragement to those facing similar challenges. Join me on this journey to achieve mental and physical well-being. Welcome! In this video, I discuss my sixth month after Gastric Bypass Surgery, providing insights into my weight loss progress, inches lost, and the foods I consume during this post-op stage of my journey. Being one year post-op is a transformative experience, as the body adjusts and the results of the surgery become more apparent. The initial weeks after surgery can be challenging, with strict dietary guidelines and the recovery process. However, as time passes, you'll witness significant weight loss and improved overall health, reducing the risk of obesity-related diseases such as diabetes and heart disease. In this video I share my strugglers with the Pre-Op Bariatric Liquid Diet meant to shrink the liver prior to surgery. I hope you enjoy !

I had my gastric bypass surgery 1/1989. 35 years ago when it was fairly new. They didn’t make patients do the liver shrinking diet, meet a nutritionist or therapist. You just went in to the hospital, had surgery, saw the surgeon one more time afterwards and you were done. I’m so happy that things have changed for the better. I started at 310# and today I am 144# and my knees appreciate it. Good luck to you. You’re doing wonderful and a great inspiration to the new generation of weight loss candidates.

It was honestly the hardest part of the process. I am now 14 months post op and it seems like a distant memory now. I just released a video today, reflecting on the journey. I can't believe it's been 14 months! What about you? Have you had the operation? Are you considering it?

I am just doing the diet now! Started today. I am doing meal replacement shakes and the one I had this morning was nice. Hoping it stays that way and my taste doesn't change

I start my pre-op liquid diet in 8 days! I don't have to have Opti-fast brand, but basically it's 2 weeks of protein shakes, milk, broth, sugar-free pudding and jello, unsweetened applesauce, and light yogurt without any pieces. I'm going to use my ice cream maker to freeze premier protein chocolate shakes for a different texture and pretend it's a treat!

Tomorrow is my last day of the Modifast diet, and I hated it. I have never been so obsessed with food as I have been the last two weeks.

OMG YES! It's sooooo true! The more you can't have something, the more you want it. Where are you now in your journey? Did you already have the operation? Keep me posted. I just released a video where I look back at the different phases and I can't believe it's been 14 months already. I am wishing you lots of patience and success xoxox

Hi there, I am starting the liquid diet for surgery on Wed next week. They have me using Boost high protein instead of Optifast, for some reason. I hope I can stomach 5 containers of this for 28 days. Yes, my liquid pre-op diet is 28 days long.

Oh man.... I don't envy you. I hated that stage but looking back, it tough me how to persevere and deal with my eating disorder and learned to find other ways to cope with myself. In my opinion, this stage was the hardest so keep pushing through, it will get easier afterwards, I promise. You're going to do GREAT. Keep me posted :)

I’m on day 3 of my preop diet. I work from home so it’s not hard so far but my cycle started the same time 😂 So I am actually retaining fluid like crazy am craving a nice steak. I was given the option of my own protein powders and shakes as long as they fit the parameters. I actually found a chicken soup powder that taste good warmed. So I’m not overwhelmed with sweet.

On day 6 of my 2 week liquid diet. Allowed 4 shakes a day, 2 cups of broth, 1 cup of raw vegetables and water (allowed tea and coffee but I don’t like neither). It’s going good. I’m a little hungry, but not craving too much. I am very emotional. I have my gastric sleeve surgery April 18th. Kind of scared. Should I be ? lol
