    You want a common seam in the middle of the walls.

      Common seam. That was the word I was looking for

      If a walls length is such that it does not require any cut blocks. a common seam is not necessary. Some people plan their wall sizes so that there are no cut blocks, so no standing seems are necessary. But that level of planning is not the typical case, so yes, common seams are more typical.

    What keeps the blocks on the snapped outside Lines?

      The friction between the foam and concrete keeps it in place. Some expanding foam under the blocks will work also to glue it in place
