🎉 Happy New Year 2023 for every one who loves this music !!
Searched for this piece that was included on a Emile Chabrier cd. I love the passion and energy of this Lalo composition. Yes, this piece should be played in live performances. Exceptional !
I saw The Merry Wives of Windsor in Detroit Opera House . Love this Overture . I cant get enough of it . It is beautiful . Thanks .
Always inspiring and so memorable that it reminds me of Carl Maria Von Weber up-tempo Overtures.

Beautiful!
petar g otto Nicolai was truly a one-hit wonder, but...what a hit!
One of my favourite overtures. I will take up Ratty Woof's recommendation to look up Nicolai's Te Deum.
start at 0:14.
Not much of Nicolai's music played these days, more's the pity. Have a listen to his 'Te Deum' written when he was only 18.
Imagine what he could have done if he hadn't been taken from us so young.
