More About Batman Beyond: Batman Beyond (known as Batman of the Future in Europe, Latin America, Australia, and Asia) is an American animated television series developed by Bruce Timm, Paul Dini, and Alan Burnett and produced by Warner Bros. Animation in collaboration with DC Comics as a continuation of the Batman legacy. Depicting a teenaged Batman in a futuristic Gotham City under the tutelage of an elderly Bruce Wayne, the series began airing on January 10, 1999, and ended its run on December 18, 2001. After 52 episodes spanning three seasons and one direct-to-video film, the series was put on hold for the Justice League animated series, despite the network having announced plans for a fourth season.

Would love to see a live-action Batman Beyond movie with Michael Keaton as Old Bruce.
No Clint Eastwood as old bruce
And Robert Pattinson Batman beyond!
Michael Keaton and they just act like forever and batman and Robin never happened... get Tim burton back too

Batman Beyond is an underrated show that was ahead of its time. I love the series and Batman Beyond: The Return of the Joker.
I swear I need to find the time to watch this masterpiece of a show
@@wolfgang6442
When it comes to Return of the Joker, watch the unrated version.
this was my shit ended to SOON and last episode was a damn cliff hanger like wtf
I want. A new justice league series with terry has Batman beyond i hope static will be in that series
Can someone explain to me Batman Beyonds’ mouth? I mean, I can’t be the only that asked about his mask. It seems like it’s fully covered yet you see his mouth
"You know this guy? He says his name is Beyonce" lmao
Didnt catch that as a kid
Static: "Where's Batman."
Terry: "I AM Batman."
Static: "And I'm Beyonce."
As soon as I heard that I came to the comments and this was at the top lmfaooooo
Ahead of his time
😅😂
lol same
I’m 21 and I LOVED this show. I still remember all these early 2000s DC shows. They sit in my subconscious constantly without me even realizing it.
Underrated Early 2000's things people did and realized as young adults today. Examples include, Batman Beyond, TOOL, Rush, Anime, Free Jazz, "old school rap" Really just the golden age of rap, Groovy Blues, Counter Stike 1.6, Strategy Games, Red Alert, Did I mention Dragon Ballz??, Tuner Culture, Early Stages of Streaming online, CPU/GPU advancement, Daft Punk, Punk Rock, alternative culture, atheist growth/refinement culture, welding robot technology, cinema technology advancements, aviation advancement, weapons development, and wireless networking. All that usher's in the epitome of underrated topics without realizing it.
Did you go back and watch it. You would be like 1 when it came out lol.
The early 2000s had alot of good cartoons that didn't get alot of attention.
@@7kudos you hit the nail on the head. Early 2000s had a great pop culture we weren't able to appreciate at the time. It was pretty much the pioneer, and beginning of the modern era we know now.
@@7kudos stop
As Terry described in the part two of “rebirth“, synaptic controls, neuromuscular application, and flight. It amplifies your strength from 10 to 1. By the time Terry got his hands on that suit it was already 20 years old and it’s still on the cutting edge technology. Good old Bruce.
This show needs to be brought back
It's a comic now
I know that. I’d rather have the show back.
Please no they will ruin it.
They'd probably force a bunch of political garbage into it
Neb the Barbarian There was always politics in it. Grow up ✌🏾
Batman Beyond is legacy done right! An awesome show ahead of it’s time with great storytelling. Fine new villans to with Spellbinder being a highlight!
Imagine a live action version with Michael Keaton as an old grizzled Bruce Wayne, that would be amazing.
Or even Clint Eastwood back in his Gran Torino days. That snarly gaze
ESCAPE LIFE Oh yeah, Clint as old Bruce had been epic. Perfect casting right there.
Sorry didn't see these. Yeah Eastwood would be awesome. Keaton would be good as Max though
Keaton would be great the man´s 67 years old so he´s getting there Clint Eastwood might be good but the man´s 88 years old, i think his acting days are close to being done.
Even Christopher Lee´s scenes in the hobbit movies had to be done in a separate studio as he was getting far too old to fly around.
I think Keaton´s the "safer" choice here he is old, but not so old that he can´t still be on set to do his parts.
We also need to see this from an investors point of view lets say they do a Batman beyond and its a huge success and they give the green light for s sequel.
Well in the meantime Clint Eastwood who played Bruce Wayne in the first movie has died of old age, that means they will either have to spend enormous sums of money on recreating his face and voice digitally or hire another actor, which can also be devastating for a movies potential profit.
Here Keaton is a much safer choice, he´s old but not too old, meaning that he can play the part of old Bruce way for at least 10 13 years or so, before he too might have to call it quits.
So i think Keaton will be the better choice in the end.
4 old; (Bruce Wayne' picks) off of looks and voice alone would be... (Peter Simonischek, Ed Harris, Robert Englund, or Eric Bana)
We need a revival of this great and underrated version of Batman
You want Underrated?! Watch batman the brave and bold
This was my Batman back in the day. Great writing, soundtrack, cast, and atmosphere

Im 28 and never heard if cyberpunk until i saw Keanu trailer. What is it?
Heroes like Bruce may grow older and weaker with time in body, but their mind and spirit will always remain the same.
Not true. The whole reason Batman Beyond’s plot happens is when Batman retires because he was on the brink of his spirit being broken. To be fair, the reason his spirit nearly broke was his body growing old and weak.
Bruce "He claimed this was all in my sub concius but he kept calling me Bruce" Terry " so what do you call yourself?" Bruce " Think about it..." Terry " Oh... but theirs a Problem, ..That's my name now!" still funny.

The Jokerz ≠ Internet Trolls.
The Jokerz = 2016's Clown epidemic
Batfreeze nail on head
To be fair, there's a lot of crossover between those two categories of people.
The Jokerz = antifa
Conroy and Hamill are the Lennon/McCartney of animation
Since Statick Shock is canon in Batman Beyond then there are different alternate endings cause in Static Batman episode Tim (Robin) seems to be a little older(doesn't like being called Boy Wonder cause he says he is getting kinda old for that ) and by Batman's second appearance on Static Batman tells Static that Tim is with the Titans and he will meet them one day .....but in The Return of the Joker he stopped being Robin after he supposed attempted to be on his own and couldn't cut it so he quit ...... Most things become canon from these animated shows but like the word "fetch" never stuck I don't think the DNA storyline where Bruce and Terry are blood related stuck nor did the Bruce Timm shipping of Batman and Batgirl as canon in 99% of the comics , most Bat-fans found it kinda creepy. But when it's all said and done this show was awesome :)
Being a part of another team doesn't mean that he was on his own.
I agree with you on the part about the whole "dna" thing. It kind of ruined the story for me, batman shouldn't be a blood legacy thing I viewed the show as anyone could be batman.
Timm did get to consummate the Batman Batgirl ship as of Killing Joke film. It's not technically DCAU, but it did use Conroy and Hamill which puts it in the neighborhood of close enough for plenty of folks. Also, still icky
And Terry being Bruce's "son"/sorta clone is still a part of Epiphany, so yeah kinda hard to say it didn't stick
@@popburnsy3207 Prepare to have your mind blown further: If Terry is Bruce's son/ clone then so is Matt (Terry's younger brother) Last I checked, DNA rewriting was a kinda permanent thing. :)
@@prophetofrage3099 - Yeah. The whole Court of Owls arc in the comics shows that the bat men have always been made, with calculating precision. That said, cloning Bruce may have fit in with the Court of Owls plan in that universe, since the events that led to the downfall of the court obviously never happened in that world.
"Everything you didnt know"
Goes on to give you surface level details you would remember if you watched the show
the justice league beyond episode was the best.

that opening is on par with xmen's. timeless classic.
Bruce does put on the bat suit one more time when he did fight with ink
Sure did
"Jedi"? You seem to deliberately avoid using the example of Logan.
Robert Pattinson: Terry Mcginnis
Micheal Keaton: old Bruce Wayne
If DC does not capitalize on such a perfect storm I'm going to have to shelve DC for good
Better pack it on the shelf then
Only filthy casuals jumping on the latest bandwagon want Pattinson as Terry. He should be played by Dylan O'Brien. He actually looks like Terry and starred with Keaton in American Assassin. That movie was basically Batman training his replacement.
Josh Yearwood Should be directed by Tim Burton...to complete the trilogy🦹🏻♂️
@@estebanrobles4234 nah, he's lost his touch
You need a more robust-looking elderly Batman than Keaton. We've had too many relatively scrawny ones. I'm not talking about an Arnold Schwarzeneggar robust, but one with at least a square jaw look.
Robert Pattinson: Terry McGinnis
Michael Keaton: Bruce Wayne
That would actually work very well. Good idea
My best friend was say something about this.
This i can actually agree with!
No, Dylan O'Brien as Terry.
Pattinson is playing a younger Bruce Wayne (unfortunately).
Terry was In high school rob like 30
Idk why they still haven’t brought Batman beyond back that high tech bat suit is cool
Still waiting on the points that I don't know about the show...
A better title would be "Things you should already know"

Here goes the line of people who already knew everything in this video? Thanks.
Yall knew what the theme song was called and the guy who animated the opening cause I didn't
Big brain Brian over here
Definitely the best animated superhero cartoon. As a little kid, I was completely blown away by this show. It was so dark and gritty.... melancholic in a way. Total Batman style, but elevated into new heights :)
"blade" kicked off the superhero boom
Then how do you explain Batman the animated series being created years before Blade the movie?
wasn't nearly as popular as it would've been had it came out 10 Yrs later
I watch Batman Beyond (really, any and all Batman related items) to cheer myself up. :)
Everything you mostly already know about batman beyond
Yes I agree nothing was said that I didn't already know
They didn't even include how Batman Beyond has had multiple comic series over the years and that it's still going even 20 years later. Not bad for a spinoff!
100% this. There was nothing included in this of any worth or knowledge. It was just a lady randomly babbling about self important psychological bs. Heck, I probably know more about the series than she does and I haven't seen it since it aired.
Yup.
Thanks for saving me time. Idk why i was hoping to find something new.
the soundtrack for this series was awesome...and you can still find it throughout the internet

Not mentioning Dwayne McDuffie is an insult to his legacy. He was one of the writers and creator of Static Shock

@@bruceluther5738 he wrote for all of the the shows that Bruce Timm and Paul Dini had as well. And he was the creator of not only Static in comics, but the Static Shock show as well. He was one of the creators of the Milestone imprint as a whole
All true for the DCAU.
For the Jokerz remember in 2017 when all those people where walking around in clown suits.

Well there are 4k blurays. So technically discs are still alive. And used in some fashion.
Wal-Mart has the entire series on DVD @ $34.99. This is the only Batman series worth watching.
This was much more pleasant to watch than most Cartoon/comic breakdowns on UA-cam.
I never liked that Batman clone/son add on. Takes away from Terry as an individual and shrinks the universe to overly connect everyone like that.
He's not a clone. Warren McGinnis had Bruce Wayne bullets in his love gun.
The episodes purpose seems to be more about how Terry isn’t bruce no matter how much like him he is, and he can do things differently.

Daniel Henderson I love Tom Selleck, and he has a much more imposing figure that better matches the physique Bruce had in the show. Clint can more naturally portray the grumpy nature of the character, I’d say. ;)
I was hoping she would say that the only thing that hasn't changed is that criminals are a superstitious bunch
We need a Live action Batman Beyond movie. I'm just sick and tired of the constant reboot of Bruce Wayne. It's time for Terry McGinness to hit the big screen in all it's glory.

Batman Beyond was amazing. Unfortunately I don't remember it being too popular when I was a teenager, unlike some of the other WB cartoons (which I also loved, I lived for Saturday morning cartoons). The intro song is AMAZING too, one of my personal favorite intro songs into a TV show ever.
This video was awesome keep it up

13:15 - The orderly sounds vaguely like the Young Justice batman. I wonder if it's him.
I watched this show as a small child. Now in my early twenties I can say the only damage it did was set my standards for TV wayyyyyyyy too high
It really was an awesome show not just a kid show it would appeal to people of all ages because the story lines were deep and well written. And can we talk about the badass theme song to this day it's still my ringtone
Nice clickbait, you should change the title to "Everything anyone who's ever had a passing interest in Batman Beyond already knows"

I still can't get over how good the intro was. The music is just......I can't. All those years and I still listen to it, and the intro itself just compliments it so well.
I'm still waiting for a movie, series reboot or something...but it will never happen.
Great presentation made by a great presenter! I loved Batman: the Animated Series as a kid (which has aged terrifically - STILL ahead of its time) but didn't have cable when Batman Beyond was airing. I look forward to finally watching it all now, in the second half of my thirties, thanks to this video!
you say you got too deep but i beg to differ considering you only went over whatever was animated in the BatmanTAS universe minus the Batman Beyond short, there's still the comics that ran alongside the tv series that you didn't mention and the 2010 and forward comics used to both continue the story and connect Batman Beyond to the DC Universe as a whole. In turn i would say with this, there is much you would need to learn. you barely scratched the surface.
I think the only thing that was really missing was resolving the Ten/Terry relationship. It also would've been nice to get a proper finale in the series, not Justice League (Unlimited) or the movie.
"Epilogue" was their proper finale, since the show got canceled. The movie wasn't the finale either since it was released while the show was still in the air.
@@maybetoby "proper finale in the series,"

It's fking stupid that you have to watch a completely different show just to get a proper ending to the Batman Beyond series. That was the whole point of my initial comment. If you don't understand that, learn English.
@@encycl07pedia- I know, it got canceled. The only DCAU show at the time that had a finale was Superman. Batman TAS didn't get one. The New Batman Adventures didn't get one.
Fast forward, they treated Starcrossed as a series finale because they didn't know if they would get another season. They did. Fast forward again, Epilogue was treated as yet another series finale. This time for the overall DCAU, Batman Beyond in particular.
Batman Beyond was not renewed, and that threw out their plans for the series. The cloning aspect came from the planned second DTV movie after Return of the Joker. Epilogue was their opportunity to use those abandoned plot points
In the words of Bruce Timm and Dwayne McDuffie, it was Beyond's finale. Let it go, Elsa.
