Been waiting for someone that actually knows what there talking about when it comes down to cam lean!
Thank you.
Your posts are always deserving of reader's attention, based on clear, precise and well explained advice. Please continue providing shooters with this sort of useful information some manufacturers
omit, but ends up improving their shooting performance.
Thank you! I appreciate your support.
Just got some GAS strings for my r29x. I did not know about this process and I thank you for saving me a headache ahead of time.
No problem! Be safe and have a good one.
Awesome video!!
Thank you
I commented on the original video you did of this, and my comment must’ve been deleted.
If you’re going to adjust anything on the cables, you absolutely do not want to remove the unserved loops from the cam posts, what happens when you do this from that end is that you take a chance on damaging the string fibers, or even unknowingly breaking them.
Always remove the served loops that go up by the brass grommets, make your adjustments, and then reattach.
It wasn’t deleted I reposted the video with some changes. Your comment was on a video I removed. Thanks again for your input.
Good job Zumba.👍you know what you are doing and explained to easily understand.. question..I understand top & bottom cam should closely match so, does the both left & right cams have to read the same My left cam is .0250 top & bottom but my right cam is top.026 & bottom is .0245… Txs Jimmy b
I make sure they are as close to center as possible on each side. The goal is to ensure they are centered between the limbs per side. The difference you are seeing side to side is not an issue unless it is extremely different. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the informative reply..! Once my Ravin bow press arrives I will adjust my cams & string..also I agree with your comment about archery shops know very little about xbow repair/maintenance, however, there are always happy to sell ..
Can you play with cam lean to tune fixed blade heads similar to a compound? Or just basically make sure they are completely level and your good regardless of broadhead? Also on the ravin factory bolts say you have a flyer. Can you rotate the nocks and try different vane down orientation to achieve better flight? With a compound that is how we spine index without a ram spine tester.
So. As for the cam lean to compensate for tuning, I personally haven’t done it. I make everything as close to symmetrical as possible and then mess with the arrows and such. Rotating the nock to check the shaft would be helpful… I bought a high end billet fletching jig to make my arrows identical. Then I identify if the shaft isn’t true…. Hopefully this helps.
Is there a reason you couldn't just twist the cable from the post and not the cam end?
No. You can make the adjustment from either side. I showed my preference.
You know I don't know why everybody wants to try to be so super precise on this and making things a lot more difficult than it really needs to be as long as the the cams are in time between the two dots there wasn't really that much of a cam lean in my opinion to even worry about it as long as you don't see such a bad lean to wear the strings are actually going to come out of the cam I think people ought to just leave well enough alone you start messing with something here and there and first thing you know you've got it all messed up I'm sure when you go to a archery shop and if you don't know how to do it and you have your cables and strings replaced they're not breaking out stuff like this and measuring the cables to the they're not doing none of that they throw it on there they cock it they look at it they make sure everything looks good and you leave they're not going through all this Precision I don't think Raven expects anybody to be making their cams that precisely
I agree with you to an extent…. For standard use out to 60 yards you are 100%. If you wish to really push the capabilities to the max it all becomes relevant. Its the same in everything… you can own a mustang that goes fast but if you want it to out perform others you need to tune it.
Having said that…. Most shops do not have the level of expertise to make these adjustments, further keeping your equipment finely tuned with prolong its life.
Thank you for your input and thanks for watching.
I want this type of accuracy for target shooting. I would never shoot an animal from more than 20-50 yards. Zuma has some of the very best helpful hints for us target shooters.

Thank you!!
Yeah but you know most people don't do a whole lot of Target practicing with a crossbow unless you're a tournament shooter all I'm saying is there's going to be a lot of people watch these videos and they're going to make a lot of mistakes and they could get hurt by doing something that they shouldn't be doing to begin with I didn't really mean nothing by this or trying to offend anybody in any way that's all I was trying to say if you're a Target shooter and you want to take these steps that's on you
@Don Wilson they shouldn't get hurt if they follow these very precise and detailed instructuons. Anyway, happy New Year and I hope the universe keeps on blessing.
