    Thanks for this tutorial! Would be nice if you did at least one tutorial in Quixel in a month!) Being not-at all-an-expert I've struggled to make a personalised herringbone pattern for tiles in Quixel and after 2 days trying I surrendered and did it with paint masks manually... But! I'm sure to do it one time procedually. I'll find a way. Your video gave me some thoughts about it. Thanks again!

    Good content!, I'm kinda bummed out that not many people do tutorials for quixel, it seems it have tons of potential

      I think Quixel has a ton of potential as well! There's a ton of great tutorials on the Quixel channel but not as much user-generated content. I do hope to see more upgrades and development updates to Quixel though. If I could ditch the Substance suite and use only Quixel, I happily would.

    Amazing! Please make more mixer videos! Especially on stuff like authoring materials. Just not enough content on that in mixer.

    Hi can you please show us the application process as well. 1) creating it in Quixel, 2) exporting 3) use the trim in Blender on a mesh.

      Hey I don't have any plans for projects to show us the application process currently but in-case you're still looking, PolygonAcademy has a great series for creating and using trimsheets. He uses different software for it but there's a lot of overlap between using a trimsheet in Blender vs. using it in Unreal.
      The short version is that you basically want to export your trimsheet textures out of the software and then import the textures into Blender and create a material with them. You can then UV any number of meshes and lay out your UV's on top of the trimsheet to project the texture information to the mesh. I hope it helps! I'll include links to some useful videos if you want to see more trimsheet information!
      ua-cam.com/video/qODD-79i5_4/v-deo.html&ab_channel=GameTextures.com -> using a trimsheet inside of Blender and texturing models with it
      ua-cam.com/video/DipfrjCgYW8/v-deo.html&ab_channel=PolygonAcademy -> part 1 of a multi part series that cover creating and and using a trimsheet and how to approach it
      I hope these help!

      I haven't used Mixer in quite a while but I will take another look at how much it's changed since I posted this video and I'll either make an updated video or add a note here on where to find it

    Yet another video that doesn't account for the update. I don't get the blend ability for Opacity Masked. Can you tell me how to apply that Blend Mode in the current version.

    Can these masks be imported out to other programs like PS?

    • @aaeriam
      @aaeriam  3 роки тому +1

      I believe so, yes. Quixel has their own video on how exactly to export custom masks from your layer stack out of Mixer and then you can make that mask into any other engine and continue to use it there.
