    As always, excellent instruction Mike! For hacks, I prefer wider stance, toes slightly outward, lighter weight, controlled…nothing else feels proper..

    I’m new to the hack squat ( the gym I attend just got 1 )
    I’ve been doing just the sled no weights attached and focusing on technique and exhaustion
    Holy smokes this machine is a game changer
    I’ve added weight but lose the connection so I go back to no weight just added reps and sets
    Tomorrow I will add literally only 20 pounds and go from there as opposed to 90 lbs
    I will slowly and with good form work my way up
    Thanks for the pointers

    Fun story: From day one in 1989, until 2009, I was all about big poundage’s for legs - working up to 4-6 rep max outs. My legs were strong, but never got that sweep or volume that I was looking for.
    2009 I detached my left patellar tendon. 6 months post op rest and functional rehab later and it was time to start rebuilding what I lost. But I was shit scared of going heavy and re injuring, plus my knee was not what it was, so it hurt to push heavy.
    So I traded poundage for lighter weight slower tempo, higher reps and higher volume.
    Within 3 years my legs were bigger than they ever were when I was leg pressing 450kg for 5.
    So I am living empirical validation of Mike’s observations here.

    I truly wish I could come get a proper training session with you. I've spent good money on trainers that I felt nothing, and have done your technique on exercises I thought I was doing correct and realized how wrong I was.

    I used to lift heavy weight thinking that would get me bigger muscles, all it has gotten me is some strength and a couple of shoulder, knee, elbow and back pain ,I now much rather lift a weight that allows me to execute the exercise with a good technique and ever since lowering the weight on leg press,shoulder machine, dumbbells etc I've been feeling better and looking better!!!!

    True . Mike I spread the word you speak the truth . People have no idea how the body works .. down generate energy .... Up release energy .. what's that special tendon again.. Gogi tendon? It's like how explain the bench press .. as a 3 stage rocket..weird .
    Bottom ..middle and lock out ..and each muscle used in general .. cus some people have no clue why their anterior Delts hurt for some reason and their triceps stall out but their chest is huge ..can't press 2 plates .. 😮

    I picture the bottom of most movements like I'm setting the ball in volleyball. you let you fingers fall back with the ball before changing directions...you slowly catch the weight with the muscle(s) you are trying to work and then transfer it.

      @@vlatkonikolovski2265 i feel my forearms i fiddled around with it alot but i cant confirm if its fine until i get a dumbell but i think it should be good idk why but even if i push even a bit on my wrist with a bent elbow my forearms activate alot the hammer curl muscle dont remember the name i would like to hear what u would do if i still had the problem?

    • @mohammedaun6266
      @mohammedaun6266 Рік тому

      @@vlatkonikolovski2265 i think the issue is probably my forearms being dominant (even tho they small af lol) always felt my forearms more on all curls even if i dont curl my wrist inwards from the start of the curl i feel more forearm than bicep i tried keeping the palm open and not gripping the machine at all it still didnt connect i tried the back chest and tricep ques fucking amazing using half the weight on every exercise got a better pump and connection than ever but biceps werent the same
      idk y

    • @vlatkonikolovski2265
      @vlatkonikolovski2265 Рік тому

      @@mohammedaun6266 so at first i also used to feel the same as u more in the forearm than the biceps and "the pain" from doing curls was mostly on the lowest part of the biceps the part between the forearm and the biceps i forget the name in english, but i fixed that problem then i also had the same issue with only my left hand, for some reason it wouldn't connect the same on curls. So my questuon first would be r u cracking elbow as Mike would say, cause most people start curling without putting the weight on the biceps they start curling up and it goes on the forearm a lot, so how do u crack elbow, instead of stretching your arm fully pull the elbow back very slightly before u curl and then squeeze the weight up on the biceps instead of just curling it and then the elbow itself will move to the front just a bit but don't push it too far to the front or u'll just put it all on the front delt, this is mostly for dumbells i would suggest try this single hand first and when u sort of master it u can try barbells. U should also using this form try to determine if u have the same strength in both arms big issue for me too i could curl 15kg with my right and 12kg with my left for the same amount of reps, so careful when doing two arm curls cause u may not realize it but one arm is always doing more of the work.
