Positioning is very crucial in this game, so find good spots where you can't get surrounded easily. Learn how to bash. Bashing is so good, you can insta-kill trash zeds if aimed at their heads and it also staggers enemies. Learn to master reload- and heal cancelling. When you reload or heal yourself, the actual heal/reload is faster than the animation. You can cancel the animation with a bash. Also you can immediately start shooting after bashing. Learn your perk role and priority. Some perks are better at dealing with certain zeds than others, so you should utilize the most out of it. For example: SWATs are amazing at clearing trash zeds, so you should kill them first if you can. And lastly, learn how the zeds act in HoE. The zeds have more speed and damage, also there are more special zeds like Rioters or Gorefiends. Use this knowledge to know how to deal with your current situation. That would be everything so far, hope this helps.
