Winter is creeping in and the calves and cattle are being fed straw and silage outside. But I need to do a little conversion job to make it easier to feed the calves.

The IBC hay/straw feeders work for young cattle but keep an eye on their tags. If two calves put their heads into the one feed slot they can pull a tag off against the hard plastic when pulling their heads back out iykwim.
It might be no harm to put a couple of metal hinges on top of the tank incase the plastic starts to crack Kieran. Just a thought. I made a creep feeder for lambs years ago with an IBC tank. Great job 😅
Love the idea of the IBC Kieran. I think there maybe another way for you to do it that may make it easier in the long run. It'd probably be more time consuming to make but easier to use 👍🏼 Its just an idea i have.
Do you reckon the dacia is a good job for farming. I have a landcruiser which is great but serious hard on fuel. I would only pull an 8x4 trailer and a 2 cow box a few times a year.
The Dacia is 1.4d and does the job for me but I’d only be pulling a car trailer the odd time. A 2.0d Dacia would probably be a better job for pulling anything bigger

You could use that tank all year round when the calves are out, great idea. Wet hay is horrible.

I just fill it with straw or hay through the holes they feed out of keeps the top watertight

Its just an idea i have.
Just leave the 4 corners of the ibc and cut out the middle bits then they cant get stuck
