in my question Ast2 come more than Ast1 is it possible? concrete area come 1138.2 and Ast come 1956.16. Mu 240, Mulimit 101.56. so beam will be double reinforced beam.
If d' for tension side is 55mm and compression side is 40 mm then for finding fsc at compression stress what is the effective depth??
Then d'/d= 40/d
Effective depth = D - 55, always calculate effective depth considering Tension reinforcement side.

Nice question friend, you are correct finding Mu we call it as a analysis problem, but if you see here in this problem Mu is already given and they have asked to calculate area of reinforcement, i am not calling this problem as a design problem because, in design problem we calculate Mu and for that Mu we find area of steel and we apply all checks for design problems, here only ast was asked that too with given Mu that is why i am not calling this problem as design problem, i hope your doubt is cleared, thanks for commenting and keep supporting us

Also I am facing a problem in this particular design (beam design) sir.
I am asked to design the beams subjected to Two-Way Slab, starting from load calculations. And the condition is that Mu must me greater than Mu(lim) but my value for Mu comes out to be smaller than Mu(lim), tried and changed the beam sizes, yet unable to satisfy the condition of BM.
Sir could you please help out? Where is the design going wrong?
