Honestly I completely commend your passion and dedication to your channel and guns and suppressors for you to put in as much work as you do and try and teach everyone you can it’s really the attitude of trying to help and pass information to people like this that’s gonna change the world sorry if that mad no sense but I just had to thank you for your work and dedication to the cause
Since you've tested so many suppressors, I think a cool video would be a comparison of your favorites per caliber, or what you perceive are the quietest. Also could throw in runner ups for each caliber, or what seems to be the best performance for the price. I have an obsidian 45 and am curious how it continues to stack up against newer cans. Great video, tons of information here!
I've shot a handful of. 45 supressors on various host, Osprey, ti-rant , octane, mated to an xdm 45, 1911 (forget the mfg), and an FNX 45 tac. And to the ear the ti-rant was undoubtedly quieter on all host. This was also done in Oklahoma around June of '18 at or around 90°F.
Definitely do a quietest, ease of use, best overall and best for the money for each caliber. I know this video is old but I just came across it. Took a break from social media for a while and trying to catch up on the latest and greatest toys.
Well that answered a lot of questions i had. I am looking at a AKV and was curious about what it takes to get a can, and the more i looked into it the more confused i was. This video cleared up a lot of confusion. Thanks!
Awesome job on this video, Adam! A long time ago I found out the expensive way on my integral AWC MK9 Navy suppressor for the S&W 76 why NOT to ultrasonically clean & lube it. It needs a new coating of black now. I am hlad that you mention it in this video. Great reminder and a heads up for those who did not know that.
Wow, 9 months to get a suppressor and I thought UK firearms laws were difficult! I live in the UK and legally own 4 rifles. If I want a suppressor I can just walk into a gun shop and buy one. All I need to do is provide proof of identity and address. However, if I want to fit it to my rifle I need to get a variation on my Firearms Certificate (FAC) to include a suppressor for that individual rifle. This process, where I live, only takes about a week. The odd thing is that the UK police (who handle firearms licensing) encourage the use of suppressors and will usually add a suppressor to the FAC application or variation for rimfire, centerfire and even air rifles used for hunting.
Thanks for this. Planning on building another AR9 to be a suppressor host after trying a buddy's suppressed AR9. Just starting to educate myself about suppressors. This was very helpful. Subscribed!
Adam...Adam..... to see that beautiful MK25 host with the excellent Liberty Mystic X setup (I have a Mystic X Vibratited onto my MK25) shot with the hideous AE 147 hurts my feelings... Lol.. a couple of years ago that was the only sub 9 that I could get by the case in Alaska as I haven't set up my new reloading bench since I moved... It seemed OK but I was always disappointed unless I let someone else shoot and I listened and even then it just didn't seem to be quiet, I remembered my setup being quieter in my former city when I reloaded with 20 year old Israeli heavy 9's that were actually swaged (swedged?) .38 bullets squished down to 9mm .. Then I finally found S&B, PPU, IMI 158 grain ammo and I'm happy again! Just got my hands on some Remington green box 147 that is as quiet to our ears as the others and is way cheaper. I hope the case ammo dealer hasn't made a mistake. Great history video!! Going to have my son watch it later on today. I missed this one when it came out.
I need to move out of douchbag Hawai’i. Restrictions are unconstitutional for sure! Thanks for all the great content. It’s the closest I’ll ever get until I move. Aloha!
Great video! I noticed that you didn't mention flow through technology such as the OSS suppressors. In my research, they are the quietest at the shooters ear and have much less back pressure/gas in your face. EDIT: But I cant prove that for another 5 months
Thanks so much for making this video! Though I knew much of this info already, this video will be very useful for sharing with friends and family that aren't as knowledgeable.
Paul Harrel (I believe) did a video on suppressors and chronoed 20 and 16 inch ar15s. If my memory serves me correct, the variation in velocity is within deviation of one round to the next, and has negligible effect at 223/556 speeds
Thanks for the "Everything you need to know about silencers" video. One thing I did not learn from this video was which recoil spring I needed to use in my 9mm handgun to eliminate casing stove piping when I shoot with a silencer. My 9mm came from the manufacturer with a 12-pound spring. Do I need to replace it with a 10-pound or a 14-pound spring?
The over regulation of owning /using a weapons suppressor by the A.T.F. is totally ridiculous and absurd . It should be under the same background checks and licensing as ANY firearm .
should have the same regulations as an automobile muffler/ silencer. you can get a ticket for NOT HAVING one. in the UK where all firearms are severely regulated and highly controlled they allow mufflers even on .22's for hunting red squirrels, as seen on a PBS Special @ grey squirrel foreign invasive species.

I would argue that a suppressor is a safety device designed to protect the hearing of the shooter and any bystanders in the area, and every gun owner should be at least allowed if not encouraged to own one for each of their firearms! Indoor range owners, employees, and patrons would love to be able to have easy access to suppressors! 😀
My very first can is a Maxim 9. I went hard into an integral for my first, now I'm trying to find a .22 direct thread can. I will do some integral .22s later, but for now a direct thread makes the most sense.
This video is great! Alot of great info. My only problem is I still do not which one to get. I am just getting into silencers. I have a ar10 6.5 creedmoor adjustable gas block, and a 6.8 spc. I am looking at a dead air sand man, and the vox. I am open to suggestions though. I want quiet at the ear and reliability, built tough. Dead air has always stood out to me and I was looking at the S, now I see the nomad is a great option but I want the keymo so I can swap between the 2 rifles until I buy another silencer. Any help on this. Sandman seems cost effective because it comes with the mount and muzzle device.
This was a great video. I would love to see you do a vid and compare all the different can's and what company has the best can in each calibers. Who you think has the best 308 can out ?
I own a suppressor for a 22 pistol and I enjoy shooting it and making a little less noise. However, I did not know all of the technical details surrounding the design and workings of the item. Thanks for the operating details and principles involved.
I was wondering if somewhere down the road you could possibly follow up with a little test to see how much if any accuracy is effected with the use of the wipe...? Thanks...
Wow! Wanted to learn a few things about suppressors. Great video I appreciate your time 👍 as simple as some of that was I am new to it all and take in knowledge like a sponge. I watch videos hoping to find ones like this and dont always get what I'm looking for so thanks for making this video you time is appreciated my friend 👍
How far away is the meter away from end of suppressor? When they say at ear that range definitely could vary. Decibel x app is actually decent on iPhone. Niosh also has a decent one. But you can buy a db meter that's pretty accurate to 140 for 20 bucks now days
If your Form 4 isn't approved ? The Silencer travels back to the dealer and you get your cost for the Suppressor back? Or are you out the cost of it as well as the $200 tax stamp?
You mentioned the form 4 process right? I’ve always wondered, you have to do a NICS check when you buy a gun, do they do a background check at all when you buy a suppressor? Or do they just want you to pay the tax and know you have it? I work at a gun shop so I know we don’t run a NICS check on the customer, but does anyone else in that 9 month process do it?
You seem to be really impressed with the Kraken 9. I'm stuck trying to decide between the Kracken 9 and Omega 9k for my first suppressor on a scorpion evo 3 s1. Help!!??
Interesting video. Despite the very strict firearms laws in the UK there is no charge for having a suppressor or delay, they just need to be listed on your firearms certificate (with a justifiable reason for having one, of which hunting is one). Firearms certificates are renewed every 5 years and cost either 62 GBP or 65 GBP when renewed at the same time as a shotgun certificate. I suspect this is the ONLY rule that is less strict in the UK!!!.
If you form 1 a suppressor can you use a wipe as part of the build? If yes could you legally change them as they wearout? Thanks for the informative video.
I am in the market to buy a suppressor and started researching it including this video. I live in one of the 42 "suppressor legal" states. This is the first I'm hearing about a $200 tax stamp.
Funny thing is that here in the UK we have suppressors on everything without special paperwork. Just about have to for most hunting situations. You cant hunt on Crown land or Forestry Commission land without one.
@Craig Scott No we cant. Nor can we have pistols anymore. My point was just the irony that in the most restricted country in the world firearms wise, we can have suppressors without paperwork. My point is not about a dick measuring competition, but to show how stupid firearms regulators are EVERYWHERE. There should be no reason to regulate suppressors in the USA anymore than to ban pistols in the UK.
That depends on what you are using it for. Rimfire is very dirty. Center-fire pistol is less dirty. Center-fire rifle basically requires no maintenance because of the extremely high pressure that blows most ofthe carbon and other contaminants out the front end of the can. I suggest you go to your favorite search engine and do a quick search. You'll find a wealth of information.
Important question: you bought your frst silencer... so what do I have to do to not be a criminal for the rest of my life? With SBRs you have to ask permission to cross state lines, notify then everywhere you move forever... anything like that for silencers?
The one thing I wish I had know was the blow back issues and increased cycling rate. I would have bought an OSS flow thru based on these issues. I still will buy one but wish I had known earlier and could have saves a few bucks. Not really a complaint because hey you can’t have too many silencers!
Adam, I made a comment in your Mod9 review video as well. I've got a few buddies in the same boat but we're all looking to get into suppressors. Which, thank you for your videos they are super informative. I think you convinced me CGS cans are the way to go btw along with the GBRS guys. Do you still offer discounts on their cans through Patreon? Would you mind letting me know when you get the chance? Thank you ahead of time!

The laws change so much it's better to call local authorities and ask. Also you do NOT have to send a notification letter to ATF when crossing state lines with silencers.
I’ll probably get a suppressor one day. Mainly for the cool factor. 10 cent ear plugs have served me well for decades though I do have a great set of muffs too. Gotta protect those ears. I’ve not had a reason to get one but I feel they should not be regulated. Government run amuck and all that. But this was a good video. Thanks for posting.
Glad to have you onboard EJ! Are you coming to Suppressed Fest by any chance? We are doing a Patreon meet up! Make sure to catch up on all the posts on Patreon!

Wow great video I just recently purchased a PSA dagger and wondered if you had any ideas which would be the best kind of suppressor for this gun
Awesome video!!! Really well done. Thanks for putting this together and dropping all that knowledge!
Good day sir.. do have silencer for Glock 17 gen 4.. how to buy? What will be the process import from other Country
This was a great video. I would love to see you do a vid and compare all the different can's and what company has the best can in each calibers. Who you think has the best 308 can out ?
Best 7.62 suppressor? The VOX is hard to beat.
NFA Review Channel yeah it looked that way from your vid on it. Wasn't sure if you were gonna go with the new OSS.
Thank you. You have answered A lot of questions I had. I would have liked to have heard one with a bolt action rifle
Plenty of suppressors used on Bolt Actions in my other videos :)
As far as function goes, if I'm understanding, baffle system is just better than monocore? What's the benefit of monocore besides cleaning?
Great video. Please do a comparison video by caliber and type (rimfire, pistol, rifle, center-fire, 30 cal, 556, special etc.).
Thank you for making this video, it really helped me

Wow! Wanted to learn a few things about suppressors. Great video I appreciate your time 👍 as simple as some of that was I am new to it all and take in knowledge like a sponge. How far away is the meter away from end of suppressor? When they say at ear that range definitely could vary.

That is an awesome video. Very informative!
You seem to be really impressed with the Kraken 9. I'm stuck trying to decide between the Kracken 9 and Omega 9k for my first suppressor on a scorpion evo 3 s1. Help!!??

Repeal the Hughes Amendment! Hell, repeal the whole damned NFA!!
And get rid of the DEA and their purse snatchers while you're at it.
Interesting video. Despite the very strict firearms laws in the UK there is no charge for having a suppressor or delay, they just need to be listed on your firearms certificate (with a justifiable reason for having one, of which hunting is one). I suspect this is the ONLY rule that is less strict in the UK!!!.
That's because they're so much damned trouble, expense that they figure it'll discourage even more gin ownership.
If you form 1 a suppressor can you use a wipe as part of the build? If yes could you legally change them as they wearout? Thanks for the informative video.
That's a very good question my friend. I don't have the answer though...thanks for stumping me lol. Bastard. lol
Great video. So it's 200.00 per can?
I am in the market to buy a suppressor and started researching it including this video. I live in one of the 42 "suppressor legal" states. This is the first I'm hearing about a $200 tax stamp.
Have you done the video about free bore boost yet because that would be a pretty cool video for sure!!!
Funny thing is that here in the UK we have suppressors on everything without special paperwork. Just about have to for most hunting situations. You cant hunt on Crown land or Forestry Commission land without one.

Great video thank you for sharing! I am looking for a can for my RPR300 WIN MAG any suggestions?
Where can you purchase a can/silencer in the state of Nevada???🇺🇸
Excellent video, great explainations for all points. I have a 7.62 SD in jail, and will get a Rugged 45 obsidian next.
Awesome info! Will be sharing.
Where can I get assistance in completing a Form 1 correctly?
You did a great job man, don't apologize you did great!
Important question: you bought your frst silencer... so what do I have to do to not be a criminal for the rest of my life? With SBRs you have to ask permission to cross state lines, notify then everywhere you move forever... anything like that for silencers?
Can you do a video on ownership? eg. What is a trust, why use it? Or buy the can in your own name
02 does not burn. But great video lot of good information
So is the hybrid a core or baffle?
Excellent thank you!
The one thing I wish I had know was the blow back issues and increased cycling rate. I would have bought an OSS flow thru based on these issues. I still will buy one but wish I had known earlier and could have saves a few bucks. Not really a complaint because hey you can’t have too many silencers!
The Deadair Wolfman made the wipe so that you can go to any hardware store and buy a rubber piece that'll do the job of a wipe. Pretty dope.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
wow thanks man, I learned a lot of your discussing on the video, this is great, thank you so much!
you show only automatic or semi automatic firearms. Are there no suppressors for Revolver ?
Adam, I made a comment in your Mod9 review video as well. I've got a few buddies in the same boat but we're all looking to get into suppressors. Which, thank you for your videos they are super informative. I think you convinced me CGS cans are the way to go btw along with the GBRS guys. Do you still offer discounts on their cans through Patreon? Would you mind letting me know when you get the chance? Thank you ahead of time!
ATTN: UA-cam IS SHUTTING DOWN ALL GUN CHANNELS! I have moved over to Rumble. Others are leaving UA-cam in droves as well. All my NEW content is being posted on Rumble and all my old content is being sync'd by Rumble and stored on their servers for preservation. My channel is easy to find, just search for "NFA Review" in the search bar and you can find me and subscribe!
UA-cam has given me 2 strikes so far on videos that weren't out during their new policy change. In addition they are deleting 5-6 videos of mine a week! They are doing the same to other Gun Channels and even the manufacturers that have channels. It's time we take our viewership over to Rumble! No more scrolling and watching non gun related content while we are logged in, no more fresh content, no more support. They don't want us here and Rumble has extended open arms to us and other free thinkers who aren't afraid to call BS on how far society has fallen!
I've run this channel professionally for 12+ years, logged 60+ Million views, 10+ years of public shooting events, and hopefully provided insight and detailed information to our community helping everyone make informed decisions on hard to purchase items. I TRULY and whole-heartedly appreciate all of you. It's surreal that all my blood, sweat, and tears are about to be "digitally book burned" by UA-cam but Rumble has cast a lifeline to free speech and the rights of everyone to learn about firearms and suppressor ownership!
To my awesome Patreon Members and my subscribers here, thank you! We are beginning a new chapter, ushering in a new fight and WILL NOT GO QUIETLY INTO THAT GOOD NIGHT.
See ya on Rumble! - Adam
Very informative, I learned a lot, thanks
Can you cover traveling with suppressors or moving to another state?
The laws change so much it's better to call local authorities and ask. Also you do NOT have to send a notification letter to ATF when crossing state lines with silencers.

Where can you purchase silencers I live in Nevada
So what is free bore boost?
Great video! Very informative!
Top video seriously, props!
Just bought my first suppressor last week
Welcome to the club!
Very informative. I needed this video, thanks
Every thing was very much helpful
Good stuff man! I subscribed because of this
Great channel now I am a subscriber Thx Much JWY
I’ll probably get a suppressor one day. Mainly for the cool factor. 10 cent ear plugs have served me well for decades though I do have a great set of muffs too. Gotta protect those ears. I’ve not had a reason to get one but I feel they should not be regulated. Government run amuck and all that. But this was a good video. Thanks for posting.
Very Nice Video, Thanks For Sharing! 🤘🏼 Carry On
Legal to own and hunt with in Iowa. Keep up with the great videos.
Very well done video
Hope it helped you in some way!
I was in New Zealand last year, a lot of center fire rifles for hunting are sold with silencers........
You talked thru the segments , I could not hear the suppressors verses the non suppressed .
rockyroller13 it’s not like I have hundreds of suppressor review videos or anything...
which model mcx is that?
thanks
Great video
Thanks for the very informative vid.. Do I have to carry the tax stamp with me when with the silencer?
Yes keep a copy of the form4 on ya when you have the suppressor.
Are these compatible with Nerf?
Great videos, just became a Patreon. Still pondering what my first can will be.
Glad to have you onboard EJ! Are you coming to Suppressed Fest by any chance? We are doing a Patreon meet up! Make sure to catch up on all the posts on Patreon!
