The corset stuff is nonsense though. In the Regency era, they didn't wear corsets tight laced like that. The gowns all fall from the bust and are not tight around the waist, so there would be no point in making the waist smaller. Instead, what they had was like a wonderbra style undergarment that lifts the chest.
The Bear is VERY good, but in a way where it's VERY unlikely to ever got spotlit on Honest Trailers. It's gorgeous, grounded and, essentially, chaste. See also: Why The Wire is ALSO never going to get an Honest Trailer.

I heard on Twitter that a good explanation for all the colorblind stuff and anachronisms is that it is a long-running regency ren faire type deal where they *really* get into character and that makes the show so much more entertaining than if it were played like an alternate universe or whatever where the British had participated in the slave trade despite Queen Charlotte being black.
This is also a Shonda Rhimes production. I think she has a reputation of diverse casting and/or including it in some way ex. Scandal, How to Get Away with Murder, etc.
I don't know much about European history, but they're not even colorblind. They are very specific to white, black, Indian. There are no other races in the show.

It's not meant to be historically accurate, just give you the feel of a time period.
