That the ultimate Ken song to serenade Barbie is Matchbox Twenty-Push got a real laugh from me. The only other choice I could think of was Nickleback-How You Remind Me.

I'm so hoping that the Ken song gets nominated so we can have a live performance at the awards show.
If this film doesn't win for Best Production Design there is no justice in this world
common isnt it hillarious in manny ways that the only one getting an award in a barbie movie would be Ken. usually movies with this kind of messaging prove themselfe wrong, and this would prove them right. the rest deserves recognition to not denying that but the ironie/struggle is golden/real.
So glad you noticed. Not many people seem to realize that the “give Gosling the Oscar” (when Gosling had the fluffiest role, the accessory) proves everything the movie said.
Loved the set design and outfits in this movie! I wish we had more blockbusters that didn't rely so heavily on CGI (for both sets and outfits).
I still think my favorite fact about this movie is that the set used so much pink paint that _it caused a world wide shortage!_ that is how much pink they used. 😆
I agree, the set design and outfits were adorable. I think this movie reaches adult women who played with Barbie Dolls.
I want a Barbie doll and lots of dresses.
@@Blue-hf7xt yeah, I'm wondering if next year's fashion will feature that Barbie look they had in the movie--the large hems, pastel colors, simple lines. Overall, I think the costumers nailed the look and I could easily see it being a thing for a few years.
true that was all good and opening was funny but after left barbie world just got so stupid

"...mastery of the craft is beyond compa-oh no, I'm one of them aren't I?" Why do I feel at least one guy actually had this epiphany while watching Barbie in the theater?
trust me, every guy had it
For me it's lord of the rings instead of godfather. That's why I don't show romantic interests those movies, I revert into ultimate geek mode
@@ruigerd Good choice, my husband made me watch lord of the rings movies, the extended version, in one weekend. Now I hate all the movies.

I hope that means we get an Oppenheimer Honest Trailer, if we haven't already.
It’s not out on digital till November. Which…you’d think alongside Barbie, right?
5:12 lol @ the Tarantino joke
That foot montage is the most unexpected thing about this trailer
That Greta joke is SO on point. You definitely know what you’re going to get when you sit down for one of her films.
@DontReadMyProfilePicture.185 ok
Which one? Half this video was a Greta joke. 🤣
Her next project is supposed to be Narnia, which should be different.
That's most big directors tbf
@@thrawncaedusl717Say what now? The Narnia Chronicles??
There was no other alternate title more perfect for this movie than "Guys & Dolls." 👏💖
Not really, Guy and Dolls is a sexist story.
@@Blue-hf7xt Clarification: I was only referring to the title, given Barbie is literally about Ken guys and Barbie dolls; I didn't mean I thought the stories were the same.
Dolls & Guys
@DJtheBlack-RibbonedRose OoooH, Okay

The anchorman reference was PERFECT! 😂
5:56 did. . . did you really imply that it’s every man’s dream for a woman to have a tv in her back? 😅
Sleepy eyed murder face...
I laughed way too hard at that.
Because it’s true, Ryan gosling does have a face that he’s about to murder
Barbie and Ken are just going for a walk.
A very enthusiastic walk.

One of my favorite honest trailers of yours ever now. I love how you can rip it apart in some ways and yet still get across how good of a movie it is
I had the exact same "Oh no I'm one of them" moment regarding Godfather.
Why would he have to apologize for Scott Pilgrim? That movie was fantastic.
Maybe it was for how Scott was a creep in the franchise?
They’re making a movie/show that looks like it’ll be completely faithful to the far superior comic books starring Cera. He has nothing to apologize for.
@@MasterBuilderDragonthe comment is about the actions of Scott Pilgrim, the character, not Michael Cera's portrayal.
@@ayoa1173 I know. I’m just really excited about the upcoming show.
Its actually most all of the movie cast for it and the director and music.@@MasterBuilderDragon
Screwed by the Lawyers: The litigious history between Mattel and MCA Records over Aqua's hit song "Barbie Girl" is why the original version isn't used in the film. A new version performed by Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice in collaboration with Aqua appears instead.
Genuinely one of the best reviews I've seen on this film
If they made Uno into a war/action movie, it would be pretty epic.
That Vin Diesel street shark would never get old. Now give me my honest trailer for Daredevil Netflix series!
lets be honest allen was the most relatable character because he is like all of us barely even there😅
I feel like he was the only character that didn't have a weird, outsized idea of who he was supposed to be. That made him a lot more at peace with himself.
"did they not consult any men on this script?" is a great way of putting it lol
I'm glad you pointed out the crazy chevy product placement in the movie!
"His crime of Scott Pilgrim"
*GASP* How dare you good sir
Epic Voice Guy reading out those Barbie lines was just wow.
Congrats to Ryan for his Oscar nomination. 👍
5:37 bro getting defensive "Godfather is masterpiece" is golden
Godfather is just something women are too stupid to understand. Just like theu are too stupid to understand why men think about the Roman empire.
I really just love the shout out to Book Smart. Great movie
4:44 Holyyy 😱 she was little gamora ??
She was the Kid Gamora and Kid Ashoka.
That the ultimate Ken song to serenade Barbie is Matchbox Twenty-Push got a real laugh from me. The only other choice I could think of was Nickleback-How You Remind Me.
But Push is even more perfect for thematic reasons, too. The song is about someone who was in a toxic relationship, so now in their next relationship *they* become toxic because it's what they've learned. And that fits Ken's arc to a T.
I actually didn't think I would like Barbie all that much. But when I saw it a couple weeks ago with some friends, I actually did. I was surprised by just how funny it was and yeah I really enjoyed it
same here, I had no plans of seeing it and didn't like the trailers. But a friend dragged me to it and we had an absolute blast.
@Zorro3k6 - I just thought it would be an extended Mattel commercial (but with GREAT production design), but I know several women who were very moved by the message and actually cried in the theater.
Ok the part where he said
“I don’t not have a Va-*”
“Never stopped me”
I just lost it on that and then I was horrified thinking about what that could mean for a Barbie doll 😳
Scott Pilgrim was awesome. Cera doesnt have to apologise for it
"Did they not consult any men on this script" LMAO😂😂
Man, if you waited another week or so, you could've made a reference to Sasha's actress playing young ahsoka. Then again, this means you can do a barbie reference in your ahsoka honest trailer
The "Magic 8-Ball" joke was beyond amazing!

To be fair, Scott Pilgrim versus the world was a pretty badass movie
While definitely true, Scott was a cheating asshole, and the changed ending that was made official where he gets with Ramona anyway does somewhat undermine his growth. Oh well.
Kinda the best.
Kinda in lesbians with it, I won't lie
@@MusicoftheDamnedI haven’t read the comics yet but from what I remember Ramona was also an asshole. Kind of glad they got together so they can spare the rest of the world from their terribleness
It was an awesome movie, but it seems a lot of people missed the point that Scott was a terrible person and it was about him learning not to be terrible. His relationship with Knives was a horribly unhealthy coping mechanism, and the original movie ending where they ended up together would have undermined the message far more. The comic make sit a bit clearer that he and Ramona are both pretty crappy people but actually fit together a lot better.
The Tarantino bits were the funniest part of this I love honest trailers
When you think about it, the Mortal Kombat 2 machine at Ken’s mansion should’ve been a Street Fighter 2 machine since it has y’know, it’s own Ken
