I personally prefer this to both Dragon's Dogma 1 and Elder Scrolls V. I hated the changes in character creation in Skyrim like removing the Class system and thought the opening was stupid. If an RPG wants me to choose a side in a civil war IMO the worst thing the writers can do is open the game's story by giving the player character a great reason to hate one side, And I prefer the combat in both this and Dragon Dogma 1 to Skyrim. And for some reason Dragon's Dogma 1 just didn't jive well with me. Its fun but not even close to being one of my top PS3 era RPGs and I haven't even played 2 yet because of that.
A shame this gem didn't make bank for the studio, I hope THQ does something with this. It wasn't the best but the combat is up there with other great RPGs.
Great video! The commentary is very well done and relaxing to listen to. My character for my first playthrough looked almost exactly like yours haha Keep up the good work, I hope the algorithm takes you places
Finally, I spent 220 hours playing through 2.5 times. Got my Platinum Trophy and can confirm I had a lot of fun. The world is beautiful for the time this game came out. The art style can remind one of Vanilla Wow and, therefore, nostalgic feels if you were a fan.
The crafting is one of the better parts of the game, surprised you glossed over it. If I wanted to tare down your review I could because I'm a long time player and practically know the game inside out and backwards but I was just interested what some new person could be thinking about this so the only critique I have towards you is misunderstanding the rather great crafting ability.
The crafting is a lot of fun, the items made are often superior to standard drops and you can make some surprisingly layered (in terms of buffs) weapons, armour etc. More to the point, the Developers understood the importance of not turning this aspect into a tedious grind.
Never heard of the game, but pretty good quality content nevertheless. Rlly appreciate the sound quality. Maybe consider adding jokes or meme to make it more engaging and unique.
After years of hearing good things I finally tried it. 20 hours in im kinda disappointed in the quests. Feels like a empty free to play mmo. Go here kill this. Repeat. Cool combat but eh would've been more interesting back in the day.
Re-reckoning is quite a disappointment. It’s downright shocking how a game from PS3 can be ported to be PS4 but loading times are still nearly 30 seconds just to go inside a house or a cave. The combat is slick and world is massive with beautiful art style. Yet it still needs more graphical updates.
The best mid RPG of all time. It checks nearly every box of a great game. But has clear flaws but the positives far outweigh the bad.
We all know why Aly Shir stands out.
I just love how the game blends different classes and makes it easier for anyone to swap classes anytime

This game is known as the opposite of a Souls game but not in a bad way

@@Grandmastergav86 yeah the crafting never felt like a must do to me, that made it cooler to be fair.

Thank you, and thanks for the advice. I appreciate it 🙏

Gameplay > graphics.
Did I pick up an Afrikaans accent there?
You have indeed.
Great video.
Appreciate it. Thank you!
