I am unsure if this series existed 4 months ago (my time of watching this video) but the Vita Carnis analog horror series is a gem. definitely recommend.
I think The Blue Channel Thalassin video is by far my favorite Analog Horror product. The way is build as a medicine comercial that can deform your face in favor to optain new emotions and facial expressions is horrifying
I can't believe the Tangi Virus is in Tier 5! It's so good, and does not deserve its obscurity. The series gave me the creeps, and does the analog horror genre proud.
43:40 Yeah my friends and I died laughing at the humber face. We now have an unsaid and indescribable definition for humber, and we all feel it daily. Thanks, Thalasin!
The Scrimblo Catalog is so hilarious. I've been wanting to see Great Choice for a long time but the director is really on it with taking down any videos he finds of it online. That doesn't stop me from trying though. I'm glad you lucked out.
The Monument Mythos is my absolute favorite analogue horror series. It’s so different. The Walten Files and Mandela Catalogue are up there too. One that I think deserves a spot on the iceberg is The Hypnogogic Archive, a series that includes video and also written horror stories. I learned about it from Wendigoon (who basically introduced me to the concept of analogue horror), and I was hooked.
One piece of criminally underrated horror that I love is Metalosis Maligna. It wasn't originally analog horror, it was contemporary at the time it was made, but because of its age it's sort of become analog horror. Its a medical mockumentary about a fictitious condition where surgical implants start taking over the body and replacing it with metal. Unnerving as hell and some great body horror.
Monument Mythos was my first introduction to Analog horror….. it was mind fuck but it still holds to be my favorite with Mandela catalogue is a Very close second. Monument Mythos has SO much lore with NixonVerse now having been released. Harmony and Horror had me feeling so sad at some parts with the dog and Baby.
u really provided me with the google sheet i needed IN THE DESCRIPTION!! ive been looking DESPERATELY for this exact video without knowing where to find it god im so excited rn
Other stuff not mentioned in the video (maybe some of you will be interested): 1. Morley Grove (by Remy Abode, creator of Gemini Home Entertainment); 2. tbennett43 (new series, only one video released to this day, but there will be more); 3. БЕЗНОГИМ or БЕЗНОГNМ (Russian television broadcast hijacking)
The back rooms was ruined by people turning it into a leveled SCP idea. The ideo of clipping out of reality with maybe one or two monsters is infinitely scarier than being able to fall with a walkthrough to "beat it"
SCP itself was also ruined a long time ago when it went from creepy eldritch objects or creatures to every other SCP being some kind of alternate dimension world ending threat with its own lore and characters. Some of them literally consist of amateur fantasy writers inserting their own universe into SCP.
@@steel5897 Is that not what the scp foundation is anyways? It allowed creative freedom, i personally like the lore and characters, if done well it keeps everything from being one note.
I love the different levels. So no, the backrooms weren’t ruined, you’re just being dramatic. Sorry but that’s my opinion. I should probably mention that Kane Pixels series is really good.
I'm surprised Marble Hornets and Totheark didn't get a proper mention. Even though they don't quite match the definition of analog horror, they were definitely huge influences on the genre.
I saw marble hornets! Man, it was more interesting than whatever the slender movie was. I think it would be covered more as a found footage series than analogue though dispite being filmed on analogue.
@@MikuChanAnimations To be fair, I didnt watch watch it, I saw it through UA-cam commentary. But yeah, I gathered as much. I will say the mythos could have been incorporated more into the film, but when the media finds something, it sometimes forgets the essence of the material.
@@Dezaos I mean the only thing that the mythos could've been incorperated into was that since kids were thinking slender was real (remember when kids thought that momo and the momo challenge was real?) so they were doing just that. It was more of a movie about a tragedy of kids believing things they see on the internet more than about slender being an actual corporal being
@@MikuChanAnimations You got it kinda right. The slender movie got its script changed due to the slender stabbing causing a rushed movie with a bad script. The orginal script from what i heard was alot darker and more scary which is sad since i wish we got this darker/scarier version of the trash movie.
I never really understand when people say the Max Headroom incident is scary tbh. it’s more hilarious than anything, like it’s just some dude goofing around lmao
I’m a little disappointed Dreams of an Insomniac by Pastra/Pastraspec isn’t on here, it had to been around when this was posted, and it’s really good. A passion project that deserves so much love
I think people mean that the weird distortions and attempt at seeming like a character counts as making deliberate analog horror? But yeah, it's a real hijacking, not just an art project
Cannot express how pleasantly surprised I was to see ghost watch! Me and my family have watched it about 4 times and I’ve never heard anyone talk about it. Great video!
idk if it counts, but i'm surprised possibly in michigan didn't show up here. it was a student film in the 80's but the creator uploaded it to youtube later and it got pretty popular around 2018? It's got a liminal/analog kind of feel. Great video btw love the petscop mention!!!
1:18:06 1:23:24 Ayyy thanks for including these in here Sourcebrew 😎😁… glad you liked them… literally I stumbled onto these after finishing your 3rd Analog Horror Iceberg video… much thanks 🙏
So there IS a reason (allegedly) why UA-cam cut out Mark's segment: hours before this, CoryxKenshin made a video about UA-cam demonitizing his content and pointing out his other white and white-passing (markiplier) UA-camrs got to keep their part of the same video game in their video. So mark supported him by purposefully egging on UA-cam by playing an adult game, censoring the necessary bits. And a couple hours later, his segment was supposed to appear. So yeah. Probably cause of that. Allegedly.
Other mention of analog horror goes to The Macabre Experiment. Basically, a take on the glory days of Creepypasta, using the analog horror format, to create your own standalone series. As far as I know, the creator might have put a hold on the series for now.
michigan report from hell is /criminally/ underrated, not as an analogue horror game, but as one of the funniest works of crap i've ever seen. its so bad its good
Nothing will be funnier to hear out of (or even in) context than: alternate reality president Hillary Clinton nuked a lovecraftian monster ship in the Suez canal
As you covered the max headroom incident i had the vaguest memory of a similar thing which i investigated way back when i was a teenager - you then covered it as the Wyoming incident and upon hearing The Happy Cube I immediately remembered all the hours i spent scrying that board
I know that Contingency is the most famous from Local 58 and I know there are tons of videos on this list and in the world in general, but goddamn if You Are On the Fastest Available Route doesn't fuck me up to this day. Any time I've found myself on a forest-y road at night, I can't help but think "you are on the fastest available route". 😭
I recently found an underrated analog horror series made by the channel Buddy Films. It’s about a National Park which houses a variety of creatures like Wendigos and they are treated like animals.Very interesting
I just wanted to add that it hasn’t been completely confirmed that Jack Walten was possessing Bon. Martin Walls has also said that Jack might not have died either.
@@rickyboston8837 It’s implied that it’s Jack, but it could just be a red herring. It could possibly be the real Felix with Jack pretending to be Felix, or it could be a malfunctioning animatronic with CyberFun Tech to blame. I don’t actually know, I have practically zero evidence
Michigan: Report From Hell may sound misleading since the game takes place in Chicago, IL. But Chicago is on the coast of Lake Michigan, which is where the spooky mist presumably came from.
Redhill VPC is so obscure that it didn't even make the list! I wish more people knew about the series. I feel like I'm the only person aware of its existence.
My personal favorite one has to be Smile Tapes. For me, grins are super effective horror tropes and they always give me chills especially in horror movies like Smile (2022) or Truth or dare are really good at making demonic grins. However, smile tapes stood out to me, because the grainy footage combined with the fact that the infectees' grins never stop even after their face getting decayed further amplifies the uncanniness. Local 58, mandela catalogue, GHE, and smile tapes are my favorites, but smile tapes currently stands out to me due to how well it capitalizes the fear of demonic grins.
I remember loey lane reading local 58!! (correction, it was 1999!! I recommend CREEPY pods reading of it) that was my favorite series from her for the longest so sad she deleted it but its completely understandable,, anyway great video!! much love brother
One that is going on at the moment is called Welcome to Dreamworld. To be fair, it might not be classified as true analog horror because the creator themselves (Rainbott) has put at the beginning of each episode that the series is for all ages of horror fans. It also has an ARG, website, and a interactive UA-cam game that uses the website for some of the interactive stuff. Best part about it? The series sprouted from Rainbott originally thinking of Welcome to Dreamworld as a FNaF fan game or the next FNaF game. It currently has one season and season 2 is in the works, but it’s pretty nice and interesting, I suggest checking it out.
Mandela Catalogue is too familiar to me because of the Jesus Loves Me song, which is weirdly nostalgic for me because I used to sing it all the time as a kid on Sunday school.
13:03 Honestly, the fact that Agamemnon Counterpart is now viewed as a meme shows how internet horror has changed. In hindsight, old vs. modern internet horror handles the actual horror aspect so differently. Classic creepypastas tended to be short, simple stories, involving gore, spooky imagery, or anything edgy that could be conjured. They're iconic, of course, but they're also so weird in comparison to modern internet horror that they're almost viewed as being memes, now. Modern internet horror tends to have a more mature handling of actual horror. Basically, modern internet horror tends not to rely on just things like spooky imagery or gore, but rather uses those things as elements, because the creators know that it's not what people are interested in. Modern internet horror also tends to not rely on edginess, but can use things like slow burns, interesting worldbuilding, and being rooted in a real-world thing or having a thought provoking element. Old creepypastas had heavy themes but tended to use those as a form of shock value with no actual payoff. If you want to see just how far we've come with horror, look at creepypasta retakes, they turn simple, edgy stories into works of art that know how to spread out the horror and can have painfully relatable emotions or can connect to you on a deeper level. (This is all just my opinion, though.)
Take on the walten files segment : Yes, the story is insanely similar to fnaf, but not in the way you think. It's actually quite astonishing to me that this analog horror series pointed to a more accurate and correct depiction of fnaf's timeline and "intent" way before we could've pieced together. The way i can make this as simple as possible is ; think about the Chuck E Cheese fiasco, two owners with two talents butt heads, starts up possible envy's in each other, then one of them ends up killing their child(ren)
Good video. A recommendation for future videos, try to upgrade your vocabulary and make your script as least redundant as possible. Try to have one subject not last over 3 minutes, if it's a long one at least 5 or 6. The idea is to keep everything as brief as possible to keep the viewer entertained and not bore them with unnecessary details. Nevertheless well done.
the dorcelessness face is a man's face when disappoint cant even be expressed by words when his teammates causes the team to lose after bro carrying them all the way up.
Can I have help finding the "Uncovered Analog" series at 1:17:27? I can't find it anywhere on youtube, I would really appreciate it if someone found it.
I just realized one I forgot to mention in the Part 3 comments that could've been brought up here: Rocket Records. A channel that as of now only has a single 2 year old video titled "Current Conditions." It's another piece of analog horror made by Aidan Chick, and is described as "retro-futurism analog horror," which like it says is analog horror but with a old-timey sci-fi flavour to it.
In Monument Mythos the Cornerfolk do exist, they’re just not mentioned until the end of the first season. Which is what happens to the universe from what i am inferring.
32:27 honestly great choice is a good psa on drugs because if I was told that’s what my brain would be like if I took them i’d stay a million miles away
Can somebody help on finding this specific series? I've been trying to find a series that starts with a countdown on 6:45( or something, I can't remember). This is because its a television program I cant remember anymore than this, I just remember that I was so scared that I screamed(first time that happend to me)
in the gemini home entertainment, they don’t turn into the creatures they just get their body overrun by roots and they remain alive and conscious it’s wack
I believe he's working on then 4th one. He's been quiet about it since he doesn't like social media/got into some drama online while he was asleep so I think he's just staying off of it
Battington made a joke on Twitter saying that Martin had died, and Martin didn’t know until he woke up due to differing time zones. This was also the reason why the Battington Fnaf tape recreations were cancelled, as Squimpus said that they didn’t want him to remake the vids after Battington revealed it as a joke
I actually made an analog horror. Name: The Game Show Of Fear The Game Show of Fear was the most popular show on television. The contestants were chosen from a pool of people who had suffered some sort of tragedy in their lives. Each week, a different contestant would be chosen to play the game. The goal of the game was simple: survive. The contestants were put into a room with a variety of spooky objects and creatures. They had to make it to the other side of the room, avoiding whatever dangers lurked in the darkness. The only problem was, no one knew what those dangers were until it was too late. The fear of the unknown was palpable. No one wanted to be the first to make a mistake. But if they did, they would be met with a fate worse than death. Some of the contestants never made it out of the room alive. The show lasted for several seasons and became a cult classic. It was a show that terrified viewers, but also kept them glued to the screen. It was a show that left viewers with nightmares and a healthy respect for the unknown.
Imagine giving an effort to send the whole red lobster film so this guy can credit you by just saying "shoutout to you guys and uhhhh yeah" in _"that"_ accent
22:31 I prefer the one the SciFi channel did about alien abductions, cutting between handheld cam during the alien attack and the police find evidence, best part is when someone finally gets away with a shotgun and gets to the truck and then it cuts to the police saying the gun seems to have been melted in half.
i'm SO happy that little red's transfer was on here. one of my absolute favorites that's criminally underrated. to be honest half the reason i watched this video was because i was hoping it would be on here.
No “Marble Hornets” or “No Through Road?” These were some of the first analogue horror series. Also, would Lost Tapes from Animal Planet count as analogue horror since it consists of found footage?
9:44 I'm not totally sure if this is true or not but I heard youtube cut it because he did a "try not to get age-restricted" video days before the event.

One that I think deserves a spot on the iceberg is The Hypnogogic Archive, a series that includes video and also written horror stories. I learned about it from Wendigoon (who basically introduced me to the concept of analogue horror), and I was hooked.
The hypnagogic archive is so cool, and massive. The story that always freaks me out is the heron one on the archive website
God yes, one of my favourites
or the one about the gigantic liminal rollercoasters. literally something straight out of my nightmares since im scared of heights
ONE PIECE !?

Monument Mythos was my first introduction to Analog horror….. it was mind fuck but it still holds to be my favorite with Mandela catalogue is a Very close second. Monument Mythos has SO much lore with NixonVerse now having been released. Harmony and Horror had me feeling so sad at some parts with the dog and Baby.
the monument mythos does the equivalent of putting my brain in a blender and its great

A classic.
@@jackrogers3657 Indeed.
u really provided me with the google sheet i needed IN THE DESCRIPTION!! ive been looking DESPERATELY for this exact video without knowing where to find it god im so excited rn
Other stuff not mentioned in the video (maybe some of you will be interested):
1. Morley Grove (by Remy Abode, creator of Gemini Home Entertainment);
2. tbennett43 (new series, only one video released to this day, but there will be more);
3. БЕЗНОГИМ or БЕЗНОГNМ (Russian television broadcast hijacking)
The back rooms was ruined by people turning it into a leveled SCP idea. The ideo of clipping out of reality with maybe one or two monsters is infinitely scarier than being able to fall with a walkthrough to "beat it"
I honestly don't find anything about the back rooms scary, the initial concept or the dumb video game version people have turned it into
SCP itself was also ruined a long time ago when it went from creepy eldritch objects or creatures to every other SCP being some kind of alternate dimension world ending threat with its own lore and characters.
Me when a collaborative project with thousands of authors doesn't go exactly like how I want it to:
Very good work right here. Your channel will grow up very fast man.
@@Dezaosreason being is that the slender movie was based of the actual slender stabbing and marble hornets is actually based on the mythos
I never really understand when people say the Max Headroom incident is scary tbh. it’s more hilarious than anything, like it’s just some dude goofing around lmao
the first iceberg I’ve seen where it gets less scary as you progress lmao
I’m a little disappointed Dreams of an Insomniac by Pastra/Pastraspec isn’t on here, it had to been around when this was posted, and it’s really good. A passion project that deserves so much love
The Gilbert Garfield ARG is my favorite one out of the bunch. It has the most ridiculous premise yet still some how horrifying.
digital horror needs more love, stuff like Petscop.
So confused on when the Max Headroom incident was considered analog horror when it's not 💀 it's? Disturbing media/ a real hijacking
Technically you could consider it analog horror, it was just unintentional though
I love the creativity and detail that goes into analog horror. It's such a fascinating genre.
As you covered the max headroom incident i had the vaguest memory of a similar thing which i investigated way back when i was a teenager - you then covered it as the Wyoming incident and upon hearing The Happy Cube I immediately remembered all the hours i spent scrying that board
The funny thing about Michigan Report in hell is that there actually is a Hell Michigan.
12:48
The is the definition of pure chaos!
I do like the Mr bear story, it has so many holes but with some rework could be an amazing horror story
You did Winter of 83 dirty with that description.
I recently found an underrated analog horror series made by the channel Buddy Films. It’s about a National Park which houses a variety of creatures like Wendigos and they are treated like animals.Very interesting
What’s it called?
What's the name
@@theend-nz6vs just look up buddy films 1975 found footage and you’ll find it
I just wanted to add that it hasn’t been completely confirmed that Jack Walten was possessing Bon. Martin Walls has also said that Jack might not have died either.
Bon’s Burgers was also founded in the 70s, not the 60s
THEN WHO IS POSESSING BON?!
@@wiggytommy8607 probably something cyberfun did Jack probably just went missing because Bon could possibly be hiding him that’s my theory
idk if it fits analog horror exactly but This Place Is Not Happy and Mystery Flesh Pit Park are both amaziiiiing
Im so happy you mentioned Eckva!!!! It’s one of my favorites
1:06:00 vol.3 of the smile tapes revealed that the fungus is extra terrestrial
I remember loey lane reading local 58!! (correction, it was 1999!! I recommend CREEPY pods reading of it) that was my favorite series from her for the longest so sad she deleted it but its completely understandable,, anyway great video!! much love brother
Boom ! I’ve made it on the iceberg!
Hello! 😄 and congrats!
Hope that the iceberg gets updated to include urbanspo0k. Cause that one is truly terrifying not relying on jumpscares or wacky stuff happening.
Nice video, i wont be sleeping tonight
Thanks for actually mentioning Marble Hornets. I feel like everyone has forgotten about it.
I don't understand how it's not in here; it's the grandaddy of the genre, and easily the most successful.
Great Choice is honestly sick, I love it and the concept
i love that the hartwin archives were covered on here. its an underrated gem
ngl the smile ARG kinda got nerfed with the jerma amongus meme
So glad you included the Fnaf VHS tapes. Some of them are just so creepy
amazing list, hopefully one day Happy Meat farms will be on here. Very disturbing analogue horror
I really like your content my man.
I think in recent years ARGs have not been good as they were. This is refreshing.
Take on the walten files segment :
Yes, the story is insanely similar to fnaf, but not in the way you think.
One of the oldest analog horror series out there is no through road, it was sort of the found footage before found footage.
u actually sounds like wendigoon haha. Good video btw, sat and watched this video and my brain went for a ride
i was just to comment the same thing lmao

31:35 I love emergency alert system scenarios.
Only the realistic ones though that follow the same format as real ones
Can somebody help on finding this specific series?
I've been trying to find a series that starts with a countdown on 6:45( or something, I can't remember).
This is because its a television program
I cant remember anymore than this, I just remember that I was so scared that I screamed(first time that happend to me)
in the gemini home entertainment, they don’t turn into the creatures they just get their body overrun by roots and they remain alive and conscious it’s wack
i'm so happy that harmony and horror is just a teeny bit more known now :D
You missed Vita Carnis and Greylock, and many other new and amazing ones created in recent times
Idk what ever happened to the Walten files.....the creator went radio silent and whatnot
I believe he's working on then 4th one. He's been quiet about it since he doesn't like social media/got into some drama online while he was asleep so I think he's just staying off of it
Martin Walls (the creator) made a community post on his channel around a month or two ago
@@bird.brainsss How do you get into drama while you're ASLEEP?

Battington made a joke on Twitter saying that Martin had died, and Martin didn’t know until he woke up due to differing time zones. Howdy! I've sent you something in your email just yesterday! Hopefully it's not in the spam folder 😂 Nice video btw!!!
I actually made an analog horror.
Name: The Game Show Of Fear
The Game Show of Fear was the most popular show on television.

I prefer the one the SciFi channel did about alien abductions, cutting between handheld cam during the alien attack and the police find evidence, best part is when someone finally gets away with a shotgun and gets to the truck and then it cuts to the police saying the gun seems to have been melted in half.
i'm SO happy that little red's transfer was on here. one of my absolute favorites that's criminally underrated. to be honest half the reason i watched this video was because i was hoping it would be on here.
No “Marble Hornets” or “No Through Road?” These were some of the first analogue horror series. Also, would Lost Tapes from Animal Planet count as analogue horror since it consists of found footage?
I think that Petscop is Analog Horror, which probably uses technology from 2006 and prior.
the hotdog archives, pretty underrated a while ago, it had like 187 subscribers and now it has a lot more * i think *
