Music video by Simple Minds performing All The Things She Said (2003 Digital Remaster).
One of the most underrated songs of the 80’s. Incredible music.
I remember listening to the whole album over and over again on a long drive.
WOW your so right, it's a cracker isn't it 👌
I don't think it was underrated but agree top sound 💯
I agree
No! It was aired on Mtv for so many weeks, so it was never "underrated".
This entire album deserves WAY more props than it ever got.
Agreed
💯
It's July 2024......and this song is still killing me!
Thank you Simple Minds!
Still inside the minds 2024 xxxx
Robin Clark takes the song to a whole other level.
YES!!
Absolutely 💯
GREAT MOVE TO GET SUCH AN ICONIC SINGER!
❤
Well she's working with a great band, so.
There will never be a decade like the 80s
@@sirtangy The 10s were remarkably unremarkable. 10s were a shitshow, and 20s is off to a rough start.
Nope !
yes
Hair bands, new wave, funk, pop, rock, R&B...the list goes on! Nothing like it ever. My favorite music was made in this decade hands down!
We can make another one.
First heard this in GTA 5. My God this song is beautiful. I swear, 80s music is amazing.
yes, and Higwayman, maybe living in a box, General Lee and some good music
Me to😂
I grew up on this. Omg good. Nowadays, not a clue..

I was there 😂 and I agree!!!
Rest in peace John Giblin, bassist during this time of Simple Minds 😔 1952-2023

RIP
100% mate, he was brilliant and a big part of what made SM sound so amazing during this era
THIS WAS IN 86. THE LAST GREAT YEAR OF THE 80S!
I am 56. I bought this album in 1986 and wore out two lps, a few tapes and a cd(too many scratches)from listening to them so much.
I love so many different kinds of music. I have thousands of lps, tapes, cds....from 1976 when I bought my first 45 from Grants dept store in Allentown, PA.
Only a few recordings that I have, never sound dated, don't have any filler songs and keep me interested and Simple Mind's "Once Upon A Time" is one of those rare magical and timeless recordings that makes me feel great.
I have to agree friend, this album keeps me coming back. I'm just a few years younger than you, this album is indeed timeless rock experience. It's so well mixed, the snare is powered by the universe, the vocals are perfect, the guitars just wrap it all together. This is their peak and it's a high bar for others to reach.
We’re lucky that music is digital now so that we can listen unlimited times.
Вы большой молодец Настоящий фанат 4:07
His voice, her voice, just YES.
Robin Clark and Jim Kerr.
She should have been given a lot more credit on this album. Even as a featured member.
She really lets fly on alive and kicking, it's brill.
She has an incredible voice
Scottish masterclass 👌🏻👍🏻😎
The 80s truly did produce the most epic music.
And some of the worst videos ever seen.
It's a cheesy low tech 80's vid, they were pretty much all terrible.
Moon McNugget
Nah, they were the best.
If you're going to lie then try not to make it so obvious.
Moon McNugget It's the "so bad it's good" kind of good.
I’m reminded of what a great addition Robin Clark was as a vocalist to the group. They were already a great band, but she brought so much to the table for them.
"Through the eyes of love, and to never know what hate is".....That's beautiful!
Their voices,the lyrics…everything is just PERFECT😭
Sumple Minds and Tears for Fear. Two bands that will always stand the test of time. From what i see on here most of these comments. The commentors did not grow up listening to them. But, none the less admire them.
For some reason everything was perfect back then
@@markludwig4154I was a child in the 80’s but definitely remember these songs playing at home and in the car every day.
Musical perfection 😊
It's too good 😭
I'm convinced this must be one of the most beautiful, exciting and powerful tracks out there
how can a video be so cheesy and funny and yet so totally compelling and cool at the same time?
You just summed up being alive in the 80s.
What you call “cheesy”was cutting edge in the 80’s.
Cos the songs.... awesome
Because it has Charlie Burchill in it!
The piano synthesizer sounds out of this world. Beautiful song
I know! The last chord ringing out at the end…just perfect!
I was stoked to hear this in Grand Theft Auto 5. Show them young whipper snappers some good 80’s jams! 😎

The vocals on these simple mind songs are just incredible, from Robin to Kerr.
The vocals are lush and gorgeous. This song is seductive to me. Adore it
Heard this playing in the grocery store the other day... took me right back to the 80's, made me smile and wanna dance down the aisles! So glad I grew up in the 70's and 80's when music was so amazing!
I dance in stores... much to my daughter's chagrin, lol. She's almost 22 and thanks me for raising her with my music...she sings along with me.
Penny wish i knew you.
yep I pity kids who did not grow up in the 80s with things like : going to malls, no smartphones or social media to clog daily lives, and the joy of going to rent a movie and pick up pizza!
I took that for granted as a kid and when I hear songs from that era it takes me back to a perfect time!
This song takes me back to the toy section of Eckerds and Bill's Dollar store in the early 90s (I was about 6). I know I might've heard it then... it becomes so vivid..

So true👍
GTA is the only thing that made you listen to old music? Damn, man.

Someone in 2024, listening to this massive song by the band Simple is pure GTA nostalgia...👊❤🔥

This is one of the most beautiful love songs ever. A very romantic song. Makes me cry every time.
The guitar is brilliant!
@Say Fuc- That I'm a massive fan of the guitars he played during this period. If I ever met Charlie I'd try & buy a couple off him, assuming he still has some. Golden era for Ibanez.
Charlie is just the best.End of!!
There's something awesome about the guitars from 80's British bands such as Charlie Burchill of Simple Minds and John Spinks from The Outfield.
Everything is brilliant ☺️👍
every great song has a great riff. This separates good music from great music!
This song has that very riff present in the opening seconds, over & over.
Simple Minds has so many great songs that I forgot I loved until I went down the UA-cam song search rabbit hole. Thank you for creating music that made living in the 80’s the best decade to be young in.
same .. i like them even more now

2:23 "I'd be with you, I'd stay with you tonight".. and that guitar.. Anthemic atmosphere! 2021 I Love this even more than I did back then. Like a fine wine.. Simple Minds are Awesome! ❤🎶
It was my favorite part of the song in 1986 when I was seventeen, and it’s my favorite part now at fifty two.
That “anthemic guitar and atmosphere” brings me back to a particular cold, winter night in February, 1986. I was talking to my friend in Fort Lauderdale about the Challenger explosion.
Yyyyyeeeeeeeeaaahhhhh
For those who were there, you know what this is all about. For those who weren't.. here we are.. now on UA-cam
UK number 9 hit in April 1986 - two-and-a-half months after the Challenger disaster...and just a week or two before Chernobyl.
I don't think Robin Clark got enough credit for her singing in the band. I know she was just a backup vocalist. But she really made some of these songs come to life when she sang.
Yes! She's amazing.
Mikenkfalls P You are two thousand percent CORRECT. Robin was a major component of this band and that voice kinda reminds u of the late great Vista Williams. Not to mention Helen Terry singing with Culture Club and the British soul singer Princess.
She had loads of credit at the time, I remember. Amazing voice.
Mikenkfalls P she was brilliant
her vocals in the final section of Alive and Kicking give me the shivers.
Whenever I'm at the drug store or grocery store and this song is played, people look at me with amazement when I stop in the aisle and sing along. I always tell them: "Sorry...you missed it..this band changed the way I listened to music when I was growing up!"
It's fun to sing and dance! My daughter just shakes her head and separates from me, lol.

Still love this song- 36 years after it's release. Charlie Burchill's guitar; Robin Clark's background; the rest of the band's music; the video- but most of all Jim Kerr's voice! In 2022- it's still an 80's CLASSIC!
I love when I drive around Los Santos while it's raining with this song.
As somebody who lives in the UK Los Santos sounds like the most un rainy place ever 😊
This moment "stars will fall out for you" mmmmmmmmmmm.... Why 80s music is so damn amazing....
+sfhdiosha When?
Best part 🙌
What demands?!! Recording Miami Vice every Friday night w your VCR on time? Making sure your hair had enough hairspray to set a small country on fire? I grew up in the 80's in NYC and I don't recall any hardships that forced me to grow up sooner than I had to. The music was just better. Kids had to go out of their way to discover bands or hang out at Tower Records for hours looking at albums. Today everything is right at your fingertips, instant gratification. There's no fun in that. We had it good!
+XTIANSLATERR Well at least modern Pop music. There is still a lot of great underground music.
Because we're the greatest generation that has lived... Generation X!
I know, there was just something amazing about growing up in the 80's?
It was during my childhood & if I could ever live in a decade forever It would be me at age 3 in 1980,up to 13 in 1990.
Star Wars,Transformers,He-Man,Conan the Barbarian,the toys,the music,& the movies.
I loved everything about it!
A lot of people tend to diss the later Simple Minds stuff but I honestly think it's just as great as their earlier stuff. If not in some ways better. Tracks like this really make Simple Minds songs sound so timeless. Robin Clark was probably the best thing to happen to this band.
totally agreed she added a lot but was gone very quick
@@hardsam68 She came out of a crew of singers and musicians who grew up in New York, and each made their marks in differing ways; Luther Vandross, Ms. Clark, and guitarist Carlos Alomar all sang and played with David Bowie in his "Young Americans" phase...
