Ozone does almost all Master Plan does, plus some 100 other things if you need it to. There's no way you can compare these. That's why Ozone costs a lot more, because it gives you a lot more, too. You really have to tweak it (like removing the excessive low end) like you did with Master Plan. That being said, I like Master Plan for simple moves on the mix bus before the song hits the mastering stage.
I have the updated Master Plan and Ozone 10 Advanced. It's very close between the two but I have been using Master Plan more. The only advantage I would give to Ozone is the fact you can use the individual modules on mix tracks which I use quite a bit. If someone is starting off in mixing, the Ozone suite has a bunch of useful modules to cover a lot of bases (dynamic EQ, saturation, limiting, spatial tools, etc). Logic mastering is mediocre but would work in a pinch. They should definitely give you more options on the eq to make adjustments.
Logic def harsh, ozone I felt that the guitars disappeared slightly. Masterplan felt full and “in your face” in a good way. Considering the mix wasn’t being changed it definitely felt like it had been. Great video!🔥
I'm on Ozone 9. There's tons of tweakablity and options there. Masterplan seems cool but very limited. I might be partial just cause the AI & Presets aren't half bad for starting points in Ozone. It's all about customizing in Ozone where most people think it's just AI mastering lol It sounded best to my ears as well. Cool track.
Logic Mastering improves my mixes, is simple to use, built in and free. By this time next year Apple will improve it (Customize the curve, be usable on individual channels and will own 51% of the market.
Ozone definitely crushed the mix too much to my ears and made it less dynamic, and gave it a smiley face EQ which I really don't think the track needed.. Torn between LMA and Master Plan. I did quite enjoy the brightness LMA added though Master Plan definitely preserved the character of the mix the most and a lot of the processing was very subtle. I like the width Master Plan added.
Yeah I like the ozone 11 version more. The low end hit you in the chest in a good way yet it was as clear as the master plan version. The master plan version was too clean.
I don’t think there’s any limiting or compression in terms of dynamics processing but there are varying opinions about the file compression and therefore quality (a slight reduction if any). I’d have to rip the audio off UA-cam and do a null test.
@@EdThorne Its totally fine. It’s because I am from Europe and this kind of music it’s not easy for me. It’s like Italian tarantella or German folklore for American ears. Almost Dixi. But was a great review. Now I know once again, that I not need Ozone. It’s ok. But with gullfoss and some other stuff, it’s not needed. I like Your Channel. It rocks.
country is perfect for asessing all frequencies - the space and the airiness..... for that, I love it. "bleeding ears?" seems you;re liek an angry noob, rather than an impartial, non biased, sound engineer, that deals with frequencies" rather than his own insecurities.
I like Master Plan.... Warmer, cleaner and more natural sounding than Ozone to me. Thanks for the video!
Agreed.
i'm definitely gonna change from ozone to masterplan.
I usually run ozone without the maximize on then I run it through the god particle. It comes out awesome!

so glad to have Master Plan instead of the Ozone system which they keep "improving" at ridiculous cost and laughable "loyalty" pricing

Good points all round!

Thanks, Justin. Yeh, it's a nice sounding plugin and now goes on every mix AND master I'm doing!
@@EdThorne demoing soon! Love the channel.... Thank you
Master Plan sounded the most normal to my ear altough it was a bit empty-sounding in the mids. However it's the cleanest one so it's a big plus

Master Plan is a very clean clipper/limiter.
Loved Ozone 11 the Most. Masterplan sounded like it needs something extra to be done
Taste is a real thing. I'm glad that we all get tools that work for us! It would be boring if we all like the same thing! 😎😎🎸
Yeah I like the ozone 11 version more. The low end hit you in the chest in a good way yet it was as clear as the master plan version. The master plan version was too clean.
Where do you like to put the mastering plugin? before or after the UA Ampex ATR tape plugin?
Master plan best. Thanksd for video. we love you bro :)
Thanks for showing your appreciation 🤘
Great video. Would love to hear you master a track and then hear what AI can do. Master channel or something. That would be a great video
Thanks. I have a LandR Vs Streaky video somewhere on the channel. I may attempt a similar concept video with my own mastering.
Agree MASTER PLAN:))
How much does YT limit and or compress after upload? If at all, that is.

Logic sounds too bright, Ozone sounds too crushed, Master Plan is just right.
My thoughts exactly.
@@EdThorne And yes, I came to that conclusion before I heard your thoughts =D
Logics AI sounded better to me, Izotope continues to be "hashy" and way bright for me not matter what you do.
Why country?? It makes my ears bleeding.
Acustica Audio is what I prefer.
Haha. Sorry. It’s just one of the better mixes I have that isn’t a client’s track.

It's ok since that isn't real country anyway
