She was murdered when I was three at that time. I watched Selena movie on PPV the first time when I was five. I enjoy it. Then, I watch it again about less than a month before the Series released on Netflix. But, I don’t have Netflix yet.

She was murdered 2 years before I was born and I keep on thinking about what would have been if she was alive today. She was an incredible performer and Selena was such a beautiful soul. She graced this earth with her presence and made everyone she encountered feel good about themselves. I may be only 23 but she has always been a huge inspiration to me and just like a lot of other people she means a lot to me. Selena is still very much missed💜
What's crazy is that each generation falls in love with Selena. I teach high school and these kids know all about her and love her music.
I had never heard of her until she died. I am elderly and was born and raised in Corpus Christi but she was a phenomenal entertainer!!! Down to earth and extremely talented. She will never be forgoten. So sad her life was cut short.

I just got chills 30 seconds forward. When they played her music, man, so many childhood memories with the family in Corpus!!! I'm 28 now, and I remember my mom and sisters jamming her music, and all her songs were straight FIRE!!! So much emotions, culture, talent, desire, and passion. Again, timeless. My mother passed in 2015, from Ovarian Cancer, so this hits home. This is my childhood man, one of the soundtracks to my life growing up. It was played around me so often, and it reminds me of my mothers side of the family. Good memories...

I was 1 when she passed away but I felt like I’ve known her all my life because of my mother being a huge fan and raising me to her music. That’s what Selena’s personality and music does to you, it brings you in and makes you feel like she was a close family member. Her passing was really one of the most tragic things that happened in this country for music.

I was at her last concert in El Paso in 4 July 1994. I had never heard of her before that night but I will never forget it.
The first movie introduced me to who Selena was back in 97 and I’m so grateful for that. I’m a 29 year old African American who fell in love because of that movie 🙏🏾

I love Selena and her music. She was such a great talent that was stolen from us way too soon. She would've been a huge star had she not been murdered. Every time I hear about her death though, I get angry all over again at her killer for her selfish and cruel act.

Angel Love I have to respectfully disagree with you as someone who grew up listening to Selena and also grew up in Texas... Jennifer Lopez looks absolutely NOTHING like Selena, and tbh she didn’t even do her justice in the movie... I’m watching the series on Netflix and just giving it a chance and yes I even watch the movie as I got older and I feel like the series to me feels a little more real then the movie
I'm uncomfortable supporting anything her family (namely dad and sister) do. It feels disingenuous. How they treat her husband is another thing that has always bothered me. I wonder what Selena would think of it all...

I was a kid when she passed but I remember watching the Selena movie over and over in 7th grade summer in the 90s.She was very talented and gone too soon. When I see anything about her She reminds me of a smiling sun.

I actually had never heard of Selena until about a couple of years ago. And, even I mourned when I saw that she had passed those many years ago.
the "close friend" remark was true for their working relationship back then. However, the family has long since decided not to speak the name of the individual who murdered Selena, so as to not give her any power of press.
For Us Mexican- American Texans, it's still so hard, after 25 yrs, to see all of this. We love her so much that we still can't fathom her not being here. She is a Legend, An Icon, Forever The best Representation of our Culture. 💜 🙏🏽
