Excellent review on one of my favorite knives. When I first bought the Manix 2 XL, handled and used it, it was one of the most comfortable knives I have in my collection. I liked it so much, I bought a second Manix XL. Both of my Manix are the black blade version and have seen their share of hard use, but I never abuse my knives. Great for edc and easy to sharpen. The prices on both the satin and black blades increased over the years, and I was fortunate to have bought both knives when it was still less than $150. Keep up the great reviews!
J V Thanks so much for the positive words I really appreciate it. Yes this is the second Manix XL for me as well. I took a trip to Calgary last year and my black bladed version went missing out of my pocket I was pretty crushed as this was one of my favorites. I replaced it rather quickly as it’s in my rotation and I loved taking it camping. With my DLC coated blade I took some 1500 grit sand paper and went along the spine edge of my knife on the corners and gave it a rub and it gave the corners a shiny edge about the width of a pencil lead. I thought it looked pretty sharp. Anyway have a great week buddy.
I’ve been thinking about that. I was also told to clip 10 percent of the original spring to give it a little easier spring tension. By the way can you direct me where to purchase the medium spring I might just do that.

My favorite folder! I have the Knife Center Cruwear exclusive Manix 2 XL.

Spyderco is coming out this year with a "Crucarta", Cruwear and Micarta, version of the Manix 2 XL.

I got the stknicks exclusive and the knife is built like a tank. Very tight action
Great blade and I love the red and black design. Take care and enjoy the beast.
Great review. I just ordered one. I am a bigger guy too. I like the handles of my knifes to be at least 5" long to best fit my 2XL hand size.
Thanks so much i
I really appreciate it. Take care and I hope you will enjoy the Manix Xl. I’m pretty sure you will it’s a great one.
@@TheBigCanucker I will let you know next week. Lajos
Change the lock spring to a “medium spring” and it transforms the knife action to a smooth 1-handed operation, without being soft ☝️

Once the factory spring was broken in I've had zero problem Spydie flicking it open with my middle finger.
Been wanting to pick one up just unsure about the lock durability
I wouldn’t. Worry about the lock it’s incredibly tough.

Just get one! It's easily one of the greatest folding knives I've ever owned, and I've owned plenty.
What brand is the K2 by the way?
The K2 is a Spyderco and it’s designed by custom knife builder from Britain Farid Mehr and it’s one of my favourite knives.
@@TheBigCanucker Thank you for the info. Sorry to see that is discontinued, otherwise I would have bought one myself.
