The man who came out at the end, is none other the exclaimed Evolutionist Richard Dawson! He is a brilliant scientist! And yes, if you look carefully... there are men in the crowd crying also! No matter how many times I have watched the video of this song, this 66 year old man has tears running his face! I love Nightwish!
If you were blown away, you will pass out if you research and understand all the lyrics and "hidden" Easter eggs in the song. Its the work of a musical and lyrical genius.
Know that you made me check if the messages with the links are still there :) luckily, they still are: www.youtube.com/@gabriel.bardac/community Nice reaction! This concert took place in the UK, at Wembley Arena, in 2015. This song is part of Nighwish's 8th studio album, "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" (2015), the first recorded together with Floor Jansen.
I have seen this performance many, many times and I know what to expect, but the tears still flow from the beauty and sentiment of this masterpiece. We Were Here!
If you really want to cry, research the story and then listen to "The Poet and the Pendulum", you won't regret it, Greetings from Chile. Nightwish Army Present.
It truly is the masterpiece of Tuomas work, but you need to get the background on that night in 2005 when the End of an Era tour truly comes to an end.
Fireworks, sure. But this version blows it away musically, so it is the best one to react to. This is the one at Wembley in London in 2015. Floor singing and Kai on drums. This concert was my first ever introduction to Nightwish. I took over the ticket of a work colleague who couldn't go. I've been a fan ever since. This song is the story of Earth, from its first formation round the sun to the present day and the increasing likelihood of our wrecking it. Troy's bagpipe is an Irish instrument called an Uilleann pipe (elbow pipe, not blown by mouth). At the end was professor Richard Dawkins, evolutionary biologist, who wrote the book on which the whole tour was based. Troy brought it with him when he joined the band and he and Tuomas put together the structure.
My vote is for Tampere version. Regardless of fireworks, that performance is a better stage, better arrangement, better wardrobe, and frankly, I fail to grasp how anyone can claim Wembley is better musically. It IS slightly different; but not better.
When Nightwish is able to make you cry it proofs that you are a worthy human beeing. No tear ever spent to Nightwish is ever wrong. You are here - and I enjoy it.
so was I :😁, I was 3rd row back and my friend was front row..not to brag 🤪 but I would have been front row but I had met the band right before this backstage and security only let us out from backstage as people started to enter the venue. It was the second best day of my life afer my wedding of course 🥰
Thanks for your great reaction! Crying at this fantastic piece of art is normal. 2015 i played their new album "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" in my car and this song hits me like a bomb... i had to cry whilst drivin my car through Vienna... Its my favorite song from Nigtwish so far. I am interested in all topics of the universe, so it hits me direct im my heart!
"We priviledge few..." does not only refer to the babies that didn't make it alive but the possible humans from the mix of different eggs and sperms - about the chances of you being you. When we go even deeper in that message, there is their brand new song Perfume of the Timeless talking about the change you even to exist in the form you are and how much things have made it possible. "You are because of a million loves".
Agree 100% This version is awesome as well for different reasons. Tampere Floor's parents were there to see her perform so that was emotional but here Professor Dawkins makes an appearance and that is emotional as well.
@@2727rogers Yes, both are great. Though the Tampere version does have clearer vocals, a synced firework, flute and Uilleann pipes which work great together. Here Troy uses an e-bow which makes his guitar sounds like a chello which is also nice. But I like the flute / uilleann pipes version more. I would certainly never "attack" anyone for not doing what I do.
This is such a beautiful story. It makes you feel alive and lucky and aware of what we are doing with our planet. It is not just music. It indeed is an experience. You are very right. Does not matter if you hear it a hundred times, you will still cry by the sheer beauty of the music and the message. They are such wonderfull people. And what a Wisdom. They are on an epic level of their own.
I've been watching the Tampere and Wembley videos for years now....and I still well up every single time. But..........I had the absolute privilege of seeing them - and this live in Birmingham a couple of years back............just wow...........
Thank you for your reaction.🥰 Wait until you see Poet and the pendelum, you will cry. But first learn what is behind of that song.🙏 How much pain and agony. It is a mestarpeace.❤
Loved your reaction. This was the first Nightwish song/video I ever saw some years ago. I have become totally entranced, that was after I got my jaw off the ground. btw, Troy does not need to blow into his pipes, as these are Irish pipes, which are filled with air using a bellows Troy has under his right elbow. If you look close, you will see him pumping the bellows while he plays. The good thing is he can also sing while playing.
It is so sweet see you, a non fan of Nightwish, or a person who recently knows them, sharing tears with all of us ... THAT is what Nightwish is. PURE ART that makes you feel things in your very soul. Really nice reaction. Greetings from Argentina 🤘🏻🖤
Wembley 2015 of course. There are two versions going around, the other is Tampere same year. Tampere has fireworks concurrent with the beginning. Wembley has Richard Dawkins at the end.
Richard Dawkins is world famous evolutionary biologist and expert in animal behaviour, prominent scientist having published bestselling books on genetics and evolution.
Yes, Tuomas with an 's' in the end. There are no silent letters in Finnish language. If it's there, it's pronounced. 😁 I love how you notice all the goofing Emppu does.😅 And yes, you can bet this was a really important night for the band. The first Finnish band to ever headline in Wembley Arena.
Great reaction Lanae as always , this song is an absolute masterpiece and gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it . I have been fortunate enough to see them perform it live in the UK and was completely blown away , awesome and by the way I always get tears at the first "We were here " 😊

Nice catch about Floor stepping away from the spotlight. She understands that Nightwish is a band, and that everyone contributes to their success. Just another reason why we love Floor so much.
Nightwish is a live band through and through, but to mix it up see "Tribal" official music video , awesome song . Great reaction and welcome to the Army 👍. 🇦🇺Devision .
Some hints about the lyrics "Lonely farer in the Goldilocks zone" The Goldilocks zone" it´s a region about an star where you can find water and maybe... life ."Enters LUCA". LUCA it´s the acronym for "Last Unique Common Ancertor" "Ion channels welcoming the outside world". Senses works with ion channel "Little Lucy of the Afar" it´s a reference to "Lucy", an really good and famous fossil of an Australopithecus afarensis, an ancestor of humanity Oh, and "this man" it´s Richard Dawkings, a famous british evolutionary biologist, zoologist, and author of many books, and inspiration of this song
Earth is an example of a planet within a "goldilocks zone" of our sun. Just in the right spot to support carbon-based life (as we understand it). Not a frozen planet or a burning one and Earth is not Tidal locked to the sun (it spins) if it was locked then one side would be too hot and the other too cold but still possible to have life (as we know it) pop up in the band between the two sides only.
Simply one of the most epic songs ever written, by any band (in my humble opinion). Pure brilliance in terms of the lyrics, the music, and the visuals. I would love to have been at this show. Great reaction. Keep up the good work. Greetings from the Nightwish Army (Sydney, Australia Division) 🇦🇺🤘
Please correct me if i’m wrong, this song is about the evolution of our planet and all living things in it. I believe it was inspired by a book by Richard Dawkins. The Nightwish Army will certainly correct me if i am totally wrong 😃 Good Reaction, keep on going!! Greetings from the Netherlands
The album 'Endless Forms Most Beautiful' is inspired by the wonders of the natural world, featuring Professor Richard Dawkins as a narrator and a very special guest in two of the album`s songs (“Shudder Before The Beautiful” & “The Greatest Show On Earth”)! Richard Dawkins turned up on stage for his first ever rock concert. He enjouyed it enormously
I Love your Reactions so much ❤ and i think you are in Love with Emppu the Guitarist from Nightwish😉. Watch Nightwish performing Dead Boy´s Poem live in Buenos Aires 2018 and you see another side of Emppu. 💥NIGHTWISH GOAT💥
It still makes tears Come to my eyes, and I been watching it since 2015, super reaction everything you say was pretty well right, even the Guitar players name was right. Enjoyed very much. More please.
I had the very good fortune to see them at this same location (Wembley Arena in London) on the Decades tour in 2018 and then again in 2022. Floor is amazing, and you will have heard a lot about Tarja as well I'm sure. Between Tarja and Floor, the singer was Anette Olzon. Live recordings of her are harder to find, but if you want an absolute must-see official video, then look at "Slow Love Slow"
I cried with you; I always do when listening to TGSOE. It's a genius, classic musical piece of our time. This is the Wembley 2015 concert, my favorite concert of Nightwish. Because of the set list, and you can tell every band member is having a really good time performing. At Wacken Floor was only 10 months with Nightwish as a stand-in. Short after Wacken they announced Floor would stay as the lead singer. In 2015 the album Endless Forms Most Beautiful came out, with songs written with Floor's versatile vocal talent in mind. You can see Floor is more at ease. She once told how nervous she was for Wacken, because most of the European fan base had not heard her life singing with Nightwish. I think you're going to like "Yours is an Empty Hope" (also at the 2015 Wembley concert) about internet trolls. I'm curious if you'll notice who is the one growling like an angry bear 😁 By the way I loved watching Emppu through your eyes. He is so underrated as a guitarist. And he has this hilarious sense of humor. He's such an awesome guy. Thank you for you reaction. Loved it again ❤
And don´t worry about emotions and tears. We Nightwish lovers are always having them - and we love that! I´m still getting "feels" after 25 years! So please don´t hold back also in future. Why should anyone of us avoid feelings, because art should stir feelings, emotions and thoughts in and from us?!
Yes we have TUOMAS (keyboard), composer, Marko (Base and Vocals), Troy (Ulean Pipes and all other stuff), Emppu (Lead guitarist), Kai Hato (drums) - and Floor. All great.
Lanae i react on your reaction on the video. first minut your getting in to the composition. Nice to see how you getting in it. Within the 2 min. your complete in to it. Your smile💕. Yes its her Floor. i love to see you going into the feeling of the music. After 7 min. your compleetly sold. The energy you show us is great. I can give more commonts. they are all good. keep going on how your doing it. The last part is breathtaking. Thank you
Great reaction again ❤ Also look "Tampere" version of this song where they are perfoming in their home county to Finnish audience, it's also amazing performance ❤🔥 Greetings from Finland ❣
I cry every single time I watch this performance, it's just so freaking beautiful 🥺❤ Also I can totally understand why you like Emppu so much! He just seems to be such a fun, nice and warm person! 🥰 If you liked his facial expressions in this one, you can look forward to cracking up watching some of the other performances 🤭
Great reaction. We were here (you and me). You said you were by yourself but I watched the reaction, so I was with you. Your odds of being born is 1 in 400 trillion. Just to let you know when I watch this performance I also tear up. I am telling myself to live long enough to see a Nightwish concert, live! I am closing in on 77 this month (the 30th). Be yourself. You don't need to live as others expect. Hope to see you at one of their concerts, in the future. Ken
One of the greatest songs ever written in my opinion. That closing orchestral movement with the band taking their bows is one of my favorite pieces of music ever written. It’s just so triumphant and uplifting. Brilliant writing. If you want to see one of their official music videos, I would recommend “Noise”, “Elan”, or “Amaranth”. All are great songs with really well put together films to go along with them. The guy they have who directs most of their music videos (can’t recall his name) is a genius in his own right, and add in Tuomas’ lyrical and musical genius and you have something very special.
Sensory overload… Nightwish style.🤘🤘 They band that can call it “The Greatest Show on Earth” and deliver on all points both artistic and philosophical …just an incredible adventure in songwriting and performance. They were super fortunate to be blessed with both Jukka and Kai…two phenomenal drummers who melded so perfectly with this phenomenal band and Kai is in Beast Mode in this song🤘
Hey Lanae, no you're not talking to yourself. There are at least a few hundred people watching your reactions every day. And the Army is with you. You are one of the millions of Nightwish Soldiers. Those chills are officially Floorgasmes. And the whole Army has them with you. Over and over again. And Tuomas, he is the Metal Mozart. He doesn't write songs, he composes musical magic. Enjoy. Greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 ( Land of Floor)🤘🫡
Yes they are bagpipes, but not the Scottish variety. They are an ancient Gaelic version called Uillean Pipes (I may have misspelled). Rather than blowing into them, the Irish pipes have the bag inflated by a bellows pumped under the elbow. You can see Troy doing this with his elbow on the side closest to the drummer. The bag is on his other side.
Hi Lanae. You are a really wonderful person with incredibly great reaction videos. Don't be ashamed of your tears with Nightwish, it's normal. Wacken 2013 was actually my first encounter with Nightwish. That concert is for me to this day the best I've seen of a band live. Since 2013 I've been to a total of 11 Nightwish concerts on 3 continents (Australia, Europe, America) and every concert was unique, only the one in Wacken was something special. I was very close to the front with my girlfriend, now wife, you can even see us on the Full UA-cam video a few times. When the concert started and after a few seconds Floor entered we were both stunned. She is so tall 187cm in feet 6.3 I think. She is an elemental force, she is a goddess, a Viking Queen, she is simply everything. To this day she has a special place in my and my wife's hearts. Another tip. A lot of people would like to see "The Poet and the Pendelum". This song has Cry Level 10+. If you do it. Please take the time to read the story behind the song and understand why Tuomas wrote it. There are 2 open letters on the internet to read about it. One is from the band (Tuomas) the other from Tarja, the first singer of the band. This is important to understand the song. What is also important is that you listen to it with lyrics so that you understand every word. Best regards from Germany Keep up the good work.
Lost count of how many times I've seen/heard this - still brings tears every time - give yourself a treat and see the Tampere performance too - just as special - a subtly different mood as it was a homecoming gig for some of the band.
This band is incredible .... they make me grin like a maniac one minute, then bring tears to my eyes the next. Tuomas is a genius of epic proportions, and in Floor (along with the rest of the band) he has the perfect tool to manifest his vision and present something truly extraordinary. Together, they have a way of touching your soul. You MUST research and then watch The Poet & The Pendulum, live at Wembley. It is THE greatest single performance by a anyone I have ever seen. Keep the tissues handy!!. All the very best from the Canberra Regiment, Australian Division, Nightwish Army.
Like and subscribe if you'd like to see more of me 😊❤ I also have the option for a super thanks now as well ❤😊
There is no list, you don't have to follow anyone's lists. Just pick a random song and enjoy.😄
This song is a great intro for Ad Astra.

The poet and the pendulum next - IS ANOTHER MASTER PIECE!
First watch some older songs with Tarja as the singer
If ya haven't shed a tear by the end of this song, you aren't human.
Greets from the PNW
I'm curious if you'll notice who is the one growling like an angry bear 😁
By the way I loved watching Emppu through your eyes. He is so underrated as a guitarist. And he has this hilarious sense of humor. He's such an awesome guy. Thank you for you reaction. Loved it again ❤
This IS fuckin awesome - I agree! :) Lovely reaction, you´re great with your energy, smiles and your thoughts!
And don´t worry about emotions and tears. We Nightwish lovers are always having them - and we love that! I´m still getting "feels" after 25 years! So please don´t hold back also in future. Why should anyone of us avoid feelings, because art should stir feelings, emotions and thoughts in and from us?!
Nice reaction. Greetings from Mexico City 🇲🇽
Emppu the guitar master!🤘🎸
I JUST watched Fury two days ago ( Again ). Love your reactions....And Nightwish is the best.
Yes we have TUOMAS (keyboard), composer, Marko (Base and Vocals), Troy (Ulean Pipes and all other stuff), Emppu (Lead guitarist), Kai Hato (drums) - and Floor. All great.

Greate creator and with Flor Jansen. The best female singer on this planet 👍
I think you also like :Epica (Dutch band) with guestsinger Floor Jansen > "Sancta Terra"
Sensory overload… Nightwish style.🤘🤘
They band that can call it “The Greatest Show on Earth” and deliver on all points both artistic and philosophical …just an incredible adventure in songwriting and performance.
They were super fortunate to be blessed with both Jukka and Kai…two phenomenal drummers who melded so perfectly with this phenomenal band and Kai is in Beast Mode in this song🤘
This is the first song that you hear from Nightwish ,that was written for Floors vocals all ather songs was writen for ather vocalists
Life is the greatest show on earth.
This song is the greatest show on earth :)
Very beautiful, thank you, 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Yes they are bagpipes, but not the Scottish variety.
So nice reaction, now you are ready again to cry whith "The poete and the pendulum" .
thank you great reaction...
I don't know you but seeing music make someone this happy makes me happy keep it up gorl.
Don't miss their songs 'Endless Forms Most Beautiful' and 'Tribal.' Spectacular! And a wonderful reaction - beautiful and heartfelt.
That was something else, wasn't it! We were here & crying with you! Thanks for another great reaction!
The music in the end is a real part of the song!
Yes, that was Tuomas. ❤ Once met him and got to thank him for the music. He is ever so kind and nice person. ❤
For their official videos (non-live), I recommend "Elan" (with Floor), "Amaranth" (with Anette), and "Nemo" (with Tarja).
Good advice
I prefer,Noise ,Islander and Perfume of the timeless
Bring the tissues out when you're ready for "The Poet and the Pendulum" !
