- What a year!!! We are so thankful to each and every one of you for listening, commenting, subscribing, and sharing our music. You have brought us so much joy and we can't wait to do it all again next year. Happy New Year!
After a crazy few months we always take off January to rest our voices and recharge, and this time we are spending February in the studio and coming up with new songs, including more Katie originals. So y'all will notice our videos slow down, but we can't wait to be back!

Katies voice make me heart melt , all very talented
Katie's the feature here, but Matt's chording and Emmet's short tasty solo really make this magic. This is one of my favorite tunes (GREAT bridge!), and it's a shame you only hear it once a year.
That is as beautifully as that great old song has EVER been done. And Katie's lower register is pure magic.
Katie can pull off from romantic to humor. Love how her personality comes through in her singing.

It's hard to follow in the footsteps of Ella Fitzgerald and Karen Carpenter without copying them, but I have to say, Katie pulled it off with flying colors! I noticed she took her voice down a notch where the sweet spot is with full resonance and control unlike I've ever heard her before. Then the phrasing kept it swirling like a freshwater creek. And the dress, glittery as it was, is a perfect fit and color. Then there's Julianne with a great big adoring dimpled grin complemented by the admiring smile of Ellen. Combined with Emmett's unique sound and the rest of the band to provide background to hang that superb voice on and you've set the stage for the New Year to start off right. Way to go Petersens!

So hysterical. During the dobro break I was going nuts--"what's that mystery instrument doubling the dobro part?" Sounds like a mando--nope! Julianne is just comping chords. Banjo? Nope! It doesn't sound like a banjo. Am I hearing things? Rewind. No, there's definitely another instrument. Wait! What the heck? Oh, OOPS!! Right in the middle, in the front--it's Katie plucking it out on the fiddle!! D'OH! I'm so glad my kids weren't looking over my shoulder. I'd never hear the end of it. Excitement over, I settled back in to hear the rest of this sublime arrangement. Great harmonies!!! Happy New Year all you wonderful, talented people!!!!

Great lead vocal by Katie, and excellent support from everyone else. Julianne seems so happy during the performance, and did a wonderful job delivering the closing message of thanks. Happy New Year to the Petersens families, both the literal mother-offspring combo and the community of devoted fans. And Happy Birthday to Julianne, who turns 20 today (Dec. 30, 2001).
I note this song was first recorded when I just beginning grade school I am sure I have heard the song many times over the years but never remember enjoying it as much as this rendition. I listen to it often since the Petersen's released their cover of the song. I am drawn to listen to it often. I can't explain it but I am getting to the point that I don't want to miss a day without listing to the Petersen band. They are always so upbeat and smiling and a joy to watch. It is so much more enjoyable to watch a band play and sing than what many groups do creating a video with many scenes and backdrops that have nothing to do with the music. I wonder if that is a conscience decision to eschew the typical music video format. I much prefer your format. By the way I think Julianne looks stunning in this video.

Really like the full band version! Ellen and Juliannes harmonies are beautiful as always, and Katie's dress is perfect for New Years. Very pretty! I have been blessed to see you all in person at live shows twice and further on UA-cam "live broadcast" twice along with Patreon online Q&A sessions. It is no small feat what y'all have accomplished this year with all the roadshows, flight hassles, online presence with a new website and regular video uploads, and managing your regular Branson shows. You have been stretched and responded graciously! It was a great year indeed! This gem of an American Roots family band is a rare jewel shining brighter each and every day! God bless you all!

Great phrasing on this tune. This is right in your range. Great one. I heard the same thing Alec Epting heard right off without reading the comments. This is what makes a great performance. Perfect range, perfect phrasing. This was magic! All the pieces came together...including the Dobro, harmonies and guitar. Goes to prove....it's not about flashy playing. It's the right song for the right voice and the right notes for the back up.
