clapping between movements...smh. were these people raised in a barn?
To be fair, for those who don't know the piece and etiquette, the end of the 1st movt does invite applause
Actually not clapping between movements has been a recent phenomenon. Historically people not only clap between movements, they clap between sections too.
Chopin once wrote a letter to his dad after his premiere performance of his Op.2 variation that the audiences liked it so much they clapped so loud between the section he couldn't hear the tutti.
