- This was so fun to film. I sat down and came up with 6 different ideas of things you can try drawing the next time you're bored and don't know what to draw. I Remember I used to make a bunch a different “chibi” animals out of a circle, which is how I found what I like to call “chubby waffle bunnie” and I still doodle it in my sketch book and on my school work to this day lol.

I did the EXACT same thing. I would always give them little angle wings tho lol (the kind that isn't attached to the body but curls in itself but you know it actually is attached, it's just a stylistic choice)

(The episode's name is "Blocked" and I love the way it represents how it feels to struggle with art block, by representing it as a super annoying block character who just breaks into artists' houses)
I now have a sketchbook page full with jellyfish now 😂😅 not much diversity in my blob animals but glad to have atleast drawn something and had a bit of fun too 😊 Thank you ♡

Something I like to do when I have art block is to go back through my camera roll and just scroll through until I see a person or object or scene that stands out to me! You can draw it using the photo as a reference, or just use it as a jumping off point. I love it because I take pictures of things that I love and those are the things that can be the biggest inspiration to you! Hope this helps another young artist 💚

Art has always been a huge part of my life and I used to draw all the time but hit a bit a of plateau with my skill level and I fell out of the habit as I started in college and graduate school.
But I stumbled across your channel in the last few weeks and watching how you approach art has quickly inspired me to get back into drawing and doing art.
The narration of your process and the way you talk through your mistakes and your victories has been so refreshing. I love the philosophy you take and how you’re always dedicated to improving your skills and not just focusing everything on making a “perfect” final product. You’ve really changed my mindset on what art needs to be, and now I’m rediscovering my love for the fun of art. Thank you, Rin!
The orange drawings look so pretty and graphic! They look like they belong on children’s books or clothes
If you don't like the way your art is, try this: stare at your art and make a pro and con list. (I'd probably make it in your head) I learned to love my art after doing this, because I not only got to see what I needed to improve, but what's great about it.

Rin's artstyle gives me the same feeling as playing with squishies
I would reccomend picking a random or color you like and sketching with it, maybe making a silhouette of something you like and then doing lineart. Coloring before lineart, even if it's only one color, gives a whole new freedom to how you perceive the shapes on your drawing.

I usually press play on the video then parkour over to get my sketchbook and pencil and wait for inspiration (and it hits instantly!!
Once I had artblock so bad that I thought I might never draw again, but it came back to me a week or so later. Drawingwiffwaffles always makes me feel better 😊

I like drawing a little squiggly circle and then add a small circle inside of it to make a cute flower. I like filling whole pages of them overlapping!

I have a notepad with art ideas and\or words. So like "a fairy sitting on the brim of a witches hat", "fairy and sugar skull", and "fairy on pumpkin"....I have a lot of fairy ideas! 😂😂

You legit posted when i just opened my sketchbook after trying to comeup with a idea for 3 hrs..i was thinking of drawing characters based on life-stages-birth,her going to college,getting a part-time job etc and seeing the character build. But i didn't know where to start and your vids for the past 4 yrs have helped me so much with giving drawing time and also having fun. So Thanks and luv you♡

I rely on good ol' fan art when I'm stuck. I have an entire Pinterest board of geeky things I love and I just pick one. I definitely want to try the "pick a color" idea you shared!

I like to prepare for these times so this is what I do
When I start a brand new sketch book I write down Ideas challenges ect
Then when I get artblock I look back to the ideas and draw what I like!!
If I don't feel like drawing anything in the list I go on Pinterest

i used to love drawing but then quit due to negative feedback from friends. ever since i found your channel in february you’ve inspired me so much to keep drawing so maybe i could become as talented as you are. your channel is so fun and entertaining to me and soooo many other people based off of all the comments i’ve seen. thank you so much for being so inspiring and totally awesome.
Keep drawing! I've struggled with this as well and the evidence is in the many a crumpled up papers and torn up sketch books before I realized that I'm the only one seeing this unless I choose to show someone! It doesn't have to be perfect!

And #2 Art is about expressing yourself in any way you would like, so I hate when people are ashamed of their art because they tend to look through other people's eyes to look at their art, and see mush, when instead they could look at it truly through their own eyes and see beautiful, imperfect, and pleasing art that gives them joy and opens new worlds of creativity and happiness!!

Hey, Rin!! When you started drawing the corn character it reminded me of an assignment I’m currently working on which is making characters out of fast food and I decided to make a boy band haha - thought I’d mention it because it seems like a prompt you’d make some amazing oc’s out of!! Making bands is really fun, I think you’d design some awesome outfits! The videos where you design characters based off food or candy are always so good.
I know, the one of the first videos of hers I watched was when she drew candy as people

I was obsessed with trying to draw just like you. I really want to thank you for the videos you made back then. They made me realize that no matter what anybody said about my drawing style it was mine! and yes, it has changed over time but when I look back at your old sketchbook videos I'm filled with this sweet nostalgia.
