- I used to do these 3 marker challenges a lot, i realized it had been a while and then I couldn't get it out of my head. So here we go again, a three marker Character Design Challenge! This time using colors I don't often use together to inspire a new character. And I have to say, this may have been the cutest thing I've ever drawn! Hope you like Penny as much as I do!

Her poncho looks like it's made of honey and I think it would be adorable to draw her with one of your little bears in hoodies! I love using your coloring pages to practice my color theory and coloring skills without taking all the time to make an entire illustration. I love the “you cant draw smiles without a smile” bc honestly youre 100% correct, but for me its the same with other facial expressions too. Like if theyre angry, i look angry. If theyre happy, i look happy, etc. kinda funny how that happens while we draw 😂

The design is absolutely adorable, I just have one thing that I don't feel - why becomes the leggings orange? If you layer the yellow on top of the greenish-blue tone there, it would definitely not turn orange but more like a grass green or leaf green, but definitely a warm, mid-green. Somehow that really weirds me out.

The first design looks to me like April O'Neal set in the Moon Dreamers universe!
OMG BEST IDEA EVER for a new art challenge. You write the names of a bunch of animated characters on little pieces of paper, and put them in a hat... even better... write the names on those puffy 3D stars and put them in a jar and just close your eyes. The first character you pick out will influence the universe you take inspiration from. The second is the character. The reason for this is so you can use all of the selections for either and you won't have any overlap. For example, you won't be able to get Wheels in Wheels' universe. It would be Wheels in say, the animals in sweatshirts universe. (I'm using Rin's characters as an example because it's the most likely thing the majority of the people reading this will know.) So you would draw a character that is inspired by Wheels' character design (perhaps another character in the friend group) but in the style of the animals in sweatshirts... so perhaps a sweatshirt wearing anthropomorphic rollerblading character with shape related hair... like maybe a heart shape inspired rollerblading anthropomorphic bunny girl with a cropped swearshirt, and a heart shaped hair line or bangs, with pigtails with heart baubles holding them in, etc.
I would love to do something like the Moon Dreamers Universe with a Care Bears character. OOOH or a Sailor Moon character so it's bery Sailor Moon like but more chibi and with super pastel colours and very rounded, baby friendly shapes ^-^. Or like, Rainbow Brite universe with Disney Princesses... so you could get like a super colourful, or monochromatic (depending if you take inspo from Rainbow herself, or one of the colour kids) princess who has the back story of opposing a bad witch who tried to take the colour from the world. Hey we could even have her be a good witch princess to kind of combat the idea that all witches are bad. OOOH! It could be that she is an environmentalist good witch and the bad witch uses evil magic to remove the colour from the world, and the good witch princess uses her powers to take the colour from her own garden the evil witch couldn't get to because of warding magic, and infuses the world with the colours from the flowers and the leaves the flowers provide... So she could be very nature inspired, and have a lot of the disney princess look to her, but with the cute rounded edges of RB and the magically infised colour that comes off the flowers and plants take the shape of those cute rounded stars like in RB too!
Ok I got a leeeettle tangential there but I think I got my point across... I hope.
I especially love how the transparent effect gives off a sort of Jolly Rancher vibe, definitely feels candy-esque to me even if there hadn't been actual candy in the picture

When I was drawing along with you, I heard celestial and ended up thinking of a character I created but haven't messed with in a while, she was a blind female with a space/galaxy theme that I had named Stellaria. I followed that thought and started drawing what I could remember of her, and now I'm on a tangent working on updating and improving her design. Woo! Lol

You made my Saturdays so much more interesting with your videos and I wished I could draw like you! Then I started to draw more like you and then started my new art style! I cannot find the words on how to thank you for helping me so much. Hey! Video idea: draw all the characters you have ever put on a sketchbook! Like - the ones on the covers and write the year you did it in :] I would love to see a video on that ! ( but that is my opinion you don’t have too :] ) And you could do the front pages too- so if you do you might have to dig into the box of old sketchbooks
