You are assuming a lot of things and you are very wrong. Just because G did not get the same abuse as Tim, it doesn't mean that he was treated like a king. Far from it. He is a sweet child who was terrorized and controlled, scared he'd have to go back to that environment. He is now safe.
One of the things that makes me so sad is that Timothy asked to play baseball and she told him he couldn't, he was too clumsy (or something along those lines). Then she put G in baseball. She was downright cruel every chance she got.

I'm sure she'll see how it feels to get beat downs and have her food taken from her. Child killers are not accepted in prison except by other child killers
It's sad that Timothy just fell through the cracks. No one noticed, checked on him, cared about him. Even the siblings who are now sorry did nothing. Neighbors. His brother who was forced to take part, never thought to tell anyone, call anyone. I only hope this child is at peace and feels love.
It IS sad. That happens a lot in dysfunctional and narcissistic families where the parents pick out one child to be their scapegoat. The other siblings take the parents side and abuse the scapegoat for them.

Really loved the prosecutor. That man tried to smile to prevent crying. The judge did a wonderful job. This defense attorney just earned my respect. He did do his job and had no choice he had to work for his client. I am so glad he did his job because it makes the jury’s decision set in stone.
This woman passed her bar exam on the first try with 182. She wants us to believe that she didn't understand that by starving her son to death, she was just disciplining him. She is totally evil.
I wish he'd been strong enough to secretly feed Timothy but his fear of his mother outweighed his need to save his brother. Shanda's one of many mothers who do this. Paul will suffer anxiety, guilt & PTSD the rest of life from this
Nah I don't feel a drop of sympathy for Paul. He texted his mom and said "idk anymore, he's just a nuisance." Shows how you really felt about your brother...
I’ve always wondered how attorneys can defend clients who’ve done horrible things and have had a disdain for them. Shanda’s attorney speaking about how he could defend her and showing that he basically agreed that she got what she deserved makes me feel better. Even though he has to defend her he does not take what she did lightly.
Unfortunately too many times parents convicted of crimes against one child up to and including murder keep their parental rights over any other minor child they may have. I so glad this didn’t happen here.
Eric should be Charged and Sentenced for Child Abuse and Neglect along with his ex-Wife who failed to protect her Stepson allowing Timothy to go live with his Mother Shanda, whom the State of Oklahoma had removed her Parental rights years before for reasons of Child Abuse! These Adults, Especially the Biological Father who had Legal Custody of Timothy according to the State of Oklahoma, should be Charged by the State of Oklahoma for breaking his oath as a Parent to Protect and love his child! Willfully allowing his Child to live with his Abuser!
I hope that little G gets a LOT of counseling so that he can be healed from what he had to witness! Furthermore, I hope that Shanda has a miserable existence in prison! She doesn’t deserve visitors or anyone putting money on her books!!!
Eric Ferguson is just as guilty imo because he knowingly handed Timothy over to her. Did he not check in on him whatsoever? He was also absent from the trial. The step mother was there in support of Timothy but his own father was no where to be found! He needs to be charged immediately!
Agree 100%. Eric F is also responsible for Timothy’s death and he should be held accountable. If you listened to the interrogation of Paul he defends Shandra. He states she didnt want to hurt Timothy she loved him. Shandra treated Paul well and his father treated him horribly. He was going along with his mother because he saw her as the “good parent”😢Let that sink in. Paul was relieved to be living with Shandra because he was able to escape Eric’s abuse. Paul experienced physical beatings with belts that were so painful he had trouble sitting through school. Neither of these boys ever experienced what it was like to live with a loving Mom or Dad 💔
I want to hate her attorney especially knowing he also defended Jeffery Willis but after listening to him both on Fridays 20/20 on how he felt about Willis and his cowardice ducking out of the victim’s statement and now this Court Tv video I can’t. He is a good hearted man who believes in the justice system.
Even your own lawyer got permanent images he can’t unsee anymore because of you. I’m glad justice was served. She did too much damage to the good of this world
I now have total respect and empathy for VanderArk’s defense attorney. I believe him when he said that this is the worst case he’s ever been handed. He did his best, but the facts are, that there was no defense he could possibly offer.
The only reason she desperately wanted to keep her parental rights with G is so she could maintain a relationship with him knowing that one day he will be an adult with a job so he could potentially be guilted into getting him to put money on her commissary account. She's pathetic.
I just want to know …where was his father in all of this? He gave their son back to this monster and not once did i see him supporting Timothy’s life… the judge was happy to see Timothy’s 2 grown siblings, but not him
Timothy p’s father basically abandoned him and told Shanda that she had to take him in or he would put Timothy into foster care. Sadly it’s believed that he was abused by him. G’s father died after a stroke.
Praying for you Fredrick Johnson!!! God bless your soul! I’m praying for you brotha! You had a unbelievably tough job too do. And I pray you recover from this case in Jesus name, AMEN! And praying for the family of the victim, that had to go through this due too evil.
I don't believe she has a bad memory. She was a Judge's law clerk. Your memory better be above par for that job. If she had a bad memory, she would've lost her job.
I thought her attorney did the best he could and I thought he was the most respectful attorney. Genuine guy. Unfortunately, everyone is entitled to a fair trial and he tried his best. Maybe it makes it easier to at least try to see the good in your client. I don’t know … but, I respected him and his efforts.
If the system worked, Shandra would have been investigated when she was spending half her day, at work for a judge, survielling her home so she could torture a handicapped child.
Reportedly Timothy, when he was an emaciated skeleton, not long before he died from starvation and hypothermia, begged the youngest son for some bread that was not covered in hot sauce. That kid has to live with that memory.
I also watched the Video of her response when the Police were at her home after receiving the call re Timothy's sad demise. Knowing of her history of torturing Timothy, her response is absolutely beyond belief let alone words! She was all fake tears and lie after lie after lie! But when they further questioned her....... Oh, she "Cant remember lieing to them." Judges decisions 100% fitting for this waste of space!
Bless the Grandparents that are caring for their son after his stroke, and now this young child will join the family. I hope it will be a good home. I also hope Ottawa County is supporting and supervising the child 's care. He will need love , and supportive care from professionals along with a stable safe home.

Shanda tried to keep her young king from knowing of her vitriolic abuse methods, so it's good to see her lose all parental rights to the one child she actually treated the 'best'. He's the only one who mattered to her and probably the only one she expected to contact her in prison. It will be lonely for her now, 5 kids, and none want anything to do with her!!!
@@lilacs2417 it was his grandparents that put him in baseball, not her. But yes she was downright cruel to Timothy on any occasion she could.
@@hollywalton5343she could’ve told the grandparents no that g wasn’t going to be in baseball. The same way she told Timothy.
@@tracy361361 sure you may think that makes sense but you don't know the family and that Adam played wheelchair baseball before his stroke and was also the team photographer for G.
Too bad Michigan doesn’t have the death penalty
Agree!
@@Mystik_Angel couldn’t agree more. Hope she rots in prison!
Even if they had the death penalty because of the harshness of said sentence, they are allowed unlimited appeals.
i agree 100% now us taxpayers will give her a bed, food and clothing, which timothy had taken away from himself. an eye for an eye!
It’s interesting what caliber of people have this opinion.
THANK GOD for this judge
I think I luv him in the nicest possible way
Shame he wasn’t there for poor Timothy!
Ya think !? She lost everything and for good reason
She don't lose her life so sad as her son...She have NO RIGHT to live smart in a prison with food, a bed, a bath and no kind of TORTURE she did to her son.....😢😢😢😢
If being a mother is not for you why keep having babies just to torture them, some thing I will never understand, evil beyond belief 😠
good question I cannot wrap up my mind about giving birth to one after another child, if,as claimed ,that human being had suffered from sexual abuse perpetuated..somehow deranged, yet intellectually sound and fit 🤔😩😫😖😣😯😲😳🥺
I agree, or give them to a couple who will love them.
The thing that gets me is, yeah, I bet being a mother to Timothy was stressful and hard. But she was making it so much harder for herself. The cameras, the constant surveillance, that's exhausting. Plus taking him off his meds and removing him from school
Well I blame society who keep pushing having children when it look like some of us women aren’t fit to have them smh
We can only hope that true justice comes in the form of "prison justice" for this vile wicked creature!
I don't know about justice, but can you imagine being her cellmate? Dear God, she's so annoying.
I really do hope some momma bear with nothing to lose takes matters into her own hands…
@@anythingforselenas806 I don't. She ain't worth it.
Oh no, I didn’t realize there was an even younger child. What that poor child must have seen, he must have been terrified.
His father died since Shanda was charged with Timothy's murder. I'm guessing that the grandparents will be raising him
@@Annedowntherabbitholewas he the one that had the stroke? I didn’t know he died.

She'll never get to stand barefoot on green grass, go swimming, or go on a vacation ever again. Good!!!!!

@@mayamohamed9847.. unfortunately she'll have 2 jobs in prison. Lawyer for inmates and training service dogs!
@@iffyangel3380 wow she will be really popular I didn't know about the dogs would need her in prison I thought it was only for medical training. A smart woman like her worked and studied very hard to serve inmates,😱😱 ... We don't envy her, do we? Let her enjoy her new company and working for inmates at least to protect herself from being attacked as a child killer. BUT she has a closet now and I hope she gets some hot sauce at some stage
@@iffyangel3380 it is a shame she'll get those privileges and many more. prisons are not like they used to be now days they get t.v. their hair cut, laundry services, able to work for spending money, they get library books, they can see their lawyer when they want, 3 hot meals a day, a bed, roof over their head, they get yard time. shower time. and she gets the company of other people, how darn bad can it be? i'm sure they have more privileges too. i spent the whole pandemic alone. in my tiny apartment, no family, no visitors.. i did call them, i did have internet. i did get things dropped off. i don't know prison life but i bet it was better than that.
@@diamondringirl completely agree. She'll have a much better life than she allowed her son. The only consultation we have is that she can never walk out of prison a free woman!
Her attorney did well, the best he could with what he was given, some folks are unrepresentable bc they ARE that evil. Love the outlook he had that its not a baseball game or win or lose its if justice has been served...thankfully it was hope that baby RIP & is finally at peace😢
That's as it should be! Hear that, Timothy, in the Heavenlies? You got another win!!!
She worked for a lawyer. She knew darn well what she was doing.
ya think??? she lost her four children and then has another. i feel for paul however. yes, the father of timothy should also be in some sort of trouble for allowing her to get timothy back, it was illegal!!!
i am for this verdict as well. i live here in this town!
PLEASE contact DA and beg for mercy for Paul! He is just another victim ofvthis monster! He didn't want to face her evil wrath!!!
Timothy’s adoptive father died last year. Timothy’s biological father never attended the trial so it appears Timothy’s birth parents didn’t cherish him.
@@KohalaLover his bio father didn't go to trial or give a victim impact statement! Says a lot to me.
Charge Timothy's father also
Wait. Wait. HOLD UP. There was a ~question~ as to her parental rights? She's a torturing convicted murderer of her own child and there was even a small chance she could keep the rights to ANY of her kids? I know the world is cracked, but the concept of even going thru the motions for this is insane.
This public defender is a man of great character and something else missing in so many public servants nowadays, INTEGRITY! Thank you God for this man.
Liked what her lawyer said that this is not a baseball game , it’s not about winning , it’s whether at the conclusion of all the processes that justice was served.
Hope inmates take care of her in jail👍👍👍
I'm sure she'll see how it feels to get beat downs and have her food taken from her. Child killers are not accepted in prison except by other child killers
They will
It's sad that Timothy just fell through the cracks. No one noticed, checked on him, cared about him. Even the siblings who are now sorry did nothing. Neighbors. His brother who was forced to take part, never thought to tell anyone, call anyone. I only hope this child is at peace and feels love.
It's an unpopular opinion but I agree.
It IS sad. That happens a lot in dysfunctional and narcissistic families where the parents pick out one child to be their scapegoat. The other siblings take the parents side and abuse the scapegoat for them.
* Timothy was the scapegoat.
Thank you sir for your input on this case and that the jury and judge for took action to remove Shanda from living free in the world. Thank you for your honesty and informative testimony. This horrific crime against Timothy has caused me grief and utter heart break for him and for humanity. Thank you and God bless you sir.
The audacity of that pos woman to even try to keep parental rights to her youngest child.
I wish all the best for G, Millie and Nolan.
RIP Timothy.
Had she kept parental rights, G would be in foster care the rest of his childhood. Now, he can be adopted into a loving home (hopefully) and get the mental health services he deserves. He also deserves some home-cooked, wholesome meals and not just chicken nuggets, pizza rolls, and fast food we heard about at the trial. I wouldn't be surprised if he is underweight as well.
G was well fed and cared for. She put him on a pedestal. His dad's parents have custody, he won't go into foster care.
@@DhyannForesteragain no this is not the case. You are repeating what the news said about G s custody status and no he is not in foster care but your info is incorrect on both parts. She did not take good care of G. She took advantage of her husband's disability even before his stroke. G will now be well taken care of is correct.
How do socioeconomic factors influence a person's likelihood of committing a crime, and should this be a consideration in sentencing?
@DhyannForester How can you possibly claim he was well cared for while witnessing his brother's starvation and abuse every day for months? My goodness.
@@hollywalton5343Who was Gabriel father? Sorry for late post just found this trial. Hello from Australia 🇦🇺🦘
Now I want to know WHEN are they going to bring Timothy's father up for charges? He NEVER should have given ANY of those children to her to go to Michigan to begin with.
The audacity of her thinking she will have parental rights behind bars. Psychopath. Her control is over.
So good that G will never see her again. 💞💞. You could also see her defence attorney was disgusted with her. RIP beautiful Timothy 💞
So one or more of Chanda's co-workers says they witnessed her calling home from work alot&monitoring everything her children were doing. So in other words she's at work acting like a refuree, coach,&drill sargent. She's rediculous!
Can you just imagine living that way? Especially with such a stressful job. She was driving herself nuts
This is my town, and he defended serial killer Jeffrey Willis back in 2017, so for him to say this is the worst speaks volumes!
Serial killers are bad, but, like, this was sustained torture over a period of months. This woman was spending tons of money and time just finding new ways to hurt her own kids, to the point where it was negatively effecting her job.
@@rosesweetcharlotte I'm not saying one case is worse than the other, im saying that lawyer had his two highest profile cases within 5-6 years, so obviously this woman is the worst of the worst because the serial killer was absolutely gruesome.
@@patrickherman4211 And it seems like this lady was just annoying. She is a lawyer. Can you imagine being a lawyer to a lawyer? This woman had him spelling out her meds because she thought people would be too stupid to know she was on meda
so glad she's locked up and she's going to face justice by her fellow inmates
You can't have or show remorse for something you won't even accept accountability or responsibility for.
She lost her parental rights the day she started torturing her son in her home!!! The judge just put paper on it!!!
The defence attorney had a very difficult job to do and he did his best. Great prosecutor and great judge. Burnt in hell Shanda!!! R.I.P beautiful Timothy your blue eyes have broken my heart.
I’m sure if we the public seen the pictures of Timmothy none of us would sleep again. She should be put under the jail
It wasn't about discipline, what it was about is she hated him with every fiber of her being, she intended on torturing him, she got enjoyment out of torturing him.
note she had 4 children none of whom lived with her until the 2very recently and she killed one of them. the braids are a crime in of themselves
I don't understand how she had custody of the little one to begin with when she was only supposed to have supervised visits with Timothy. If you aren't allowed custody of one you shouldn't be allowed custody of any.
She moved to avoid CPS so they did not take G.
@@evaleo2080 That's interesting. I hadn't heard that.
Why the hell is the biological father getting off scott free? Why hasn't one single reporter or news agency commented on the father?
Really loved the prosecutor. That man tried to smile to prevent crying. The judge did a wonderful job. This defense attorney just earned my respect. He did do his job and had no choice he had to work for his client. I am so glad he did his job because it makes the jury’s decision set in stone.
I respect that the defense attorney did his job without dishonoring Timothy in the process.
You could see how deprived and deluded she is: believing that she's quite able to have parental rights. She would have manipulated G completely.
Just like she did to her other children. She’s despicable
I really think she thinks she did nothing wrong.
😢she put all the blame on Paul.😅
This woman passed her bar exam on the first try with 182. She wants us to believe that she didn't understand that by starving her son to death, she was just disciplining him. She is totally evil.
I hate it for the son she had participate in the abuse as well.
Yes! Most people don't understand the trauma it is. Abusive manipulation, guilt, fear, shame.. 😢
Controlling and thinks she’s entitled to. That’s sociopath behaviour for you .
I wonder how Shanda's feeling about G, her "Miracle Child" and "Blessing to this World" wanting nothing to do with her.
Blessing unto this world....wtf
I love the rage from Maria Pereira bc I feel the exact same rage!!!
If I ever need a lawyer, I want THIS GUY!
Unfortunately too many times parents convicted of crimes against one child up to and including murder keep their parental rights over any other minor child they may have.
I so glad this didn’t happen here.
I agree 100% the death penalty would be less painful than what she did to her son and certainly warranted.
They don't even execute people hardly on death row
Eric should be Charged and Sentenced for Child Abuse and Neglect along with his ex-Wife who failed to protect her Stepson allowing Timothy to go live with his Mother Shanda, whom the State of Oklahoma had removed her Parental rights years before for reasons of Child Abuse!
These Adults, Especially the Biological Father who had Legal Custody of Timothy according to the State of Oklahoma, should be Charged by the State of Oklahoma for breaking his oath as a Parent to Protect and love his child!
Willfully allowing his Child to live with his Abuser!
I was Relieved to Hear Frederick Johnson's Views on him having to Represent this Evil Woman.😌
Thank🙏🏼God He is a Believer.
Where was God when Timothy was cold, alone, and starving to death in a closet naked?
Agreed ❤ I felt terrible for him having to represent her
I can’t believe this woman had the balls to try and fight for parental rights of her youngest child!
Trying to have that last bit of control! What made her think she would keep custody of the youngest after what she did to his brother!! Words fail me.
This entire family is cracked.
R.i.p Timothy 🕯💙
Paul is damaged...he doesn't look normal
Liliana, I watched his testimony to the Detective in charge.
It was absolutely unbelievable, sad and comfirms your description of him.😟
Now when is bio dad going to be held accountable for his part in deliberately defying a court order to send his child to his death????!!! Oklahoma?!?!
Absolutely it’s the kids who suffer!
He gave their son back to this monster and not once did i see him supporting Timothy’s life… the judge was happy to see Timothy’s 2 grown siblings, but not him
Apparently, the father suffered a stroke. She was not suppose to get T back, court order (why)??
U need any exceptional memory for that job.
That's why I love America- justice is served 🎉 ❤
Greetings from Austria!
Usually when people get life sentences they do lose parental rights…🤦🏻♂️
How does a parent rationalize withholding food as punishment? Can we say Ruby Franke & Jodi Hildebrant? 😡🤬
Her “attorney” seemed like he was helping the state. I thought he was supposed to zealously represent his “client” smh
Oh, she "Cant remember lieing to them."
Judges decisions 100% fitting for this waste of space!
