I spent an entire week trying to research a way, any way, to get my device discoverable again. Nothing worked. Then I found this video and the key steps that resolved my problem were provided in this video where you turn on the light right after you start searching for the light in the Philips App. For whatever reason, Alexa has turned into a useless garbage pile and has been having all kinds of problems. One of which caused my light to be undiscoverable. Thank you for teaching me how to pair my lightbulb again!
Thanks man! Your video solved my problem. For whatever reason my smart light was no longer responsive to Alexa after working without issue for nearly 3yrs. After following your steps it brought the light back to life as far as Alexa was concerned so I have both subbed and bookmarked your video in case this ever happens again and I forget the steps.
The question is why does it happen in the first place? It keeps dropping lights for me, saying they're "unresponsive". Sometimes it will even say that when the voice commands are working. Other times, the commands/lights won't work. I have all my wall switches locked, so the device circuits are always on. When you have a couple/few lights, it's no big deal. But when you have 30 in a room, it's not feasible to have to keep deleting and re-adding the devices.
It worked for me!!! Yeii! Thank you! I was loosing hope, I saw lots of reviews and comments in Google that many many people starting having the same issue yesterday and today, that the lights started being unresponsive. I’m so glad I ran into your video!
Doesnt work for me sadly... In the Phillips hue BT app it instantly connects to my lightstrip and I can customize the light normally. But with Alexa it wont work. I can connect it yet once paired the light is labeled unresponsive in the Alexa app aswell as for the Echo device. Tried numerous times to reset the lightstrip, reconnect it to the hue BT app aswell as the Alexa app, and also tried to unplug and restart the Echo device. So far nothing worked.... Anyone any solutions? :(
If you use a bridge, change the Zigbee channel and only delete the lights on the Alexa app. The fault is in the Alexa, not the hue lights or the Hue app itself. If this ever happens, dont mess with you Hue settings except changing the Zigbee channel. After you delete the lights (and only the lights) on the Alexa app, they should automaticly re-apear in the Alexa app and work again.
I follow the steps. The problem I’m having is right after I tell Alexa to discover my devices, she says “I’ve found two new devices including lights.” Then something about how I can try turning them off or on. So I tell her right after “Alexa, turn off second light” and she immediately says it’s not responding. I can get her to discover them but they still say they’re unresponsive. Also when I try to enable Phillips hue in the skills. It takes me to a page where I log in and then it says “no hub is discoverable.” Well, I’m not using a hub, they’re just bt lightbulbs.
@@bhupindertube great video in the first place, so thank you for you great job although I have the same issue with Douglas. It's been 3 hours i'm searching the web and tried all methods (old and new). I also tried yours multiple times but nothing. Alexa discovers the 2 bulbs but they remain unresponsive via the app and via the vocal commands. So i tried to link them to the Google Home (via the app and the nest mini) and the bulbs work. Something is happening to the Alexa app i guess. So for now i will have to use just google home but i would like to know if there's a solution and in the future, if i will be able to control the bulbs both with alexa and google home. Thank you in advance for all you help!!!
I didn't have to delete the lights from philips hue app, all i had to do was delete all lights and bedroom in the alexa app and then it got readded automatically. then i had to group the lights in "bedroom" and it finallly worked with alexa
@@bhupindertube one light still not working with alexa , so probably its foulty light cz alexa app find the light but light not respond, but true pholips app light works fine
In video it looks as if I've hold it for a short time but in reality you got to hold the phone as close as possible and for longer. Sometimes, you got to try it a few times for it to work. Don't give up!
There is no need to mess with the Hue app. The problem is with the Alexa. Doing this just gives you HOURS of extra work. Just change the Zigbee-channel on the bride, delete the light from ONLY the alaxa app. They will automaticly re-apear and by the time you deleted the last on, the rest will be up and running again.

You're most welcome! At least it doesn't require Hue Bridge for Alexa & Google 😁
Very well explained. Thank you!!

Is it applicable for non philips smart bulb?
This worked for me, thanks so much :)

Did you follow all the steps exactly till the end? With Alexa you don't need the hub! After you made it discoverable, you got to pair it.
