Taiwan has surprised us in so many ways! Please subscribe if you enjoyed this video! Let us know where you are from with a flag in the comments, we'll go first: 🇿🇦
Glad you enjoyed your trip here. Taiwan is a wonderful country for traveling and living.
In fact , it's a scallion pie,
not an onion pie, Taiwanese people
didn't call it right.
Taiwan’s clamping and digging doll machine
Many are scams
Those turtles and hermit crabs are pets
Taiwanese are not eating that
450K subs soon! Keep it up Shev and Dev!
“kiss and ride” is a temporary drop off/pick up spot, so you kiss your loved one goodbye after being dropped off (or greeting kiss being picked up) at the station. You two are excellent tour guides for us viewers! I visited Taiwan a few months ago and rode high speed train too. I want to go down south next time after watching you guys having so much fun!
welcome to our city, Kaohsiung. thank you for introducing Taiwan to people around the world. Hope you and all they like our country. All of you are welcome to visit Taiwan and Kaohsiung City.
I've been to over 20 countries and just visited Taiwan for the first time and can honestly say it's my favourite so far. Heavily underrated and a hidden gem. The people are incredibly hospitable and will go the extra mile to assist you even if they don't speak much English, the food is amazing, the ease of transportation is super convenient and the country as a whole is pocket friendly so if you're a budget traveller it's an ideal place to visit.
Kudos to the creators for crafting a truly exceptional video that meticulously navigates the cultural landscape of Taiwan, unfolding its myriad facets as we traverse from the northern tip to the southern reaches
wow, thank you so much for the lovely feedback 😍
Well done video. I studied at the Stanford Center in Taipei 1972-73 and worked for the National Palace Museum 1978-80. My daughter was born in Taiwan and my wife is from HK. I'm looking forward to getting back for a visit.
I used to travel to Taiwan for work around 4 times a year. I found the people to be very courteous and friendly. I miss it!
They definitely are! Super warm hearted. We miss it so much already 😭
超級精彩的紀錄片❤,彷彿是discovery頻道,真的謝謝您們的介紹!
谢谢😍❤
Looks like a fun trip. Wish you guys had longer in Taiwan to check out the beautiful east coast.
We wish we had longer too 🥲
Uh-oh! Shall I include Kaoshiong in my itinerary too? Few days from now, we’ll be visiting Taipei too. Thank you for your videos. It helps me decide what I wanted to do once we’re touchdown. Entertaining, captivating and both of you are very good story-tellers!
thank you so much! Definitely add Kaohsiung to the list if you have time 🥰
Thank you so much for introducing Taiwan to the people all over the world.
Hope you can visit Taiwan soon.😊😊🥰🥰

22:48 I ate at this shop last year; good choice! Polite staff and quick service. The meatball soup was also delicious.
Thanks Shev and Dev.
Amazing Taiwan. A lot of beautiful history in Taipei, a lot foods to enjoy and night markets.
Taipei to Kaohsiung on HST I love it.
We’re going there next week.
Thanks again.
I was really moved when I watched this video. The statue at the end is Xuantian Shengdi, a deity in Taoism, commonly worshipped by people on both sides of the strait. Our tradition involves celebrating every 12 years, equivalent to the Chinese zodiac cycle. When it's time to welcome Xuantian Shengdi, the village throws a grand feast, inviting friends from all over to share in the joy. Welcoming Xuantian Shengdi is akin to welcoming peace, and this is a common tradition across the Taiwan Strait. It feels so familiar and heartwarming. Thanks to the blogger for sharing.
👍你們很會拍攝, I miss Taiwan 🇹🇼 😢😢 Wish I can go back next year 謝謝你們介紹台灣
We hope you can travel to Taiwan soon! 😍
拍的真好,剪輯也流𣈱
Thank you for this video,So beautiful country Taiwan.😊
1:12:45 that game is called "big 2", super fun game with ideally 3-4 people where instead of Ace being the trump card, 2 is the best in the game!
Just imagine 3 players, with the deck split evenly between the 3. You can play most poker hands (singles, pairs, straight, full house, four of a kind, royal flush, etc.) in response to other people. Whoever discards all their cards first wins. Very fun game you should learn it, very simple to pick up as well.
So a few rules:
> If you win the current hand, you could put whatever hand next. Eg. you put down pair of Ace and no one else wants to challenge, you can begin next round with whatever hand you desire
> If opponent puts down pairs, you have to put down pairs of higher value/suit, else you pass. If opponent puts down full house, you can only play full house, etc.
> Four of a kind/royal flushes are rare, so they're considered "bombs". No matter what hand the opponent plays, you can throw down a bomb in response. (As long as your bomb trumps his bomb, like a King four of a kind > Jack four of a kind)
> Royal flush bombs trump Four of a kind bombs.
Random stuff:
> People across Asia have different house rules, different suit orders, etc. Just ask the dealer how he likes to play and those are the house rules. e.g. some allow 3 of a kind, two pairs, some allow 3 of a kind to "trump" a two pair. I don't follow those rules cuz I think they're cheap hehe but play with whatever rules you like.
> Whoever has 3 of clubs has to start the game with 3 of clubs (could be whatever hand, like a pair, straight, etc.)
> So 52/3 isn't whole, there will be one mystery card left in the middle. Whoever has 3 of clubs (shittiest card in the deck) will take it to make their hand 18 cards (assuming odd number of people are playing)
> The name is kind of a play on the Mandarin term "big 2", which could mean big dick, as in if you got the 2 of Spades you could "swing ur big dick around" lol.
🇺🇸🇹🇼 the card game they are playing is called “The Big Two”. You can play it with poker cards or multiple decks of poker cards. The goal is to get rid of all the cards as quickly as possible. It’s kind of like a trick taking game (like hearts) mixed with poker. You shuffle the deck and deal all the cards out evenly amongst all the players. The first player can play a single card, a pair, 3 of a kind, 4 of a kind or a full house (2 of a kind + 3 of a kind). The next player must follow the same (a single, a pair…) but the value must be equal or larger or pass if you cannot play the same. The largest number is 2 and it wraps around with 3 being the smallest. Suites also matter in the same order as poker. You may pass strategically and jump back in later as long as not everyone has passed. You continue following the same until everyone has passed. The winner of the round starts the next round deciding the new pattern everyone must follow in the new round. Whoever is able to get rid of all the cards in their hand first is the winner.

Dang you were in Penang , my orchid mate there .
26:05 If I recall correctly, the English used to make a sausage called black pudding by mixing beef blood with chip liver and rice and stuffing it into an intestine casing. I’m not sure if it’s still around, but I remember seeing it as a kid growing up. There was also a sausage called white pudding that was made with rice and intestine stuffing, but I’m not sure what kind of meat was used because the liver was red. All I know is that it had a pale white appearance.
Just came back to Australia from Taiwan my home country one day ago. I love you guys video which just straight to the point. It’s very simple, smooth and informative!! Well done! :)

Thank you Theo🥰
Remarkable video to watched this gone weekend in great joy & peace 2023❤❤❤
Changing of the guard is cool , did you miss all the stuff below it ?
The card game is called Big 2, its a popular game similar to pie gow poker. Really enjoyed the video guys!
大老二(dalaoer) is a 4player- card game where 2 is the biggest )instead of As) each will get 13cards and who finishes getting rid of the cards first wins. You start with the smallest card ie 3 ♦️ ( cards can be disposed in 1, pairs, triplets or 5s (similar to gin rummy))
Thank you ❤❤
Yes the trains leave on time :-) Getting the right one is important , I managed to get the train before mine , found out when my seat was taken :-) no sweat !
Watching from ❤🇵🇭
Woohoo! Thanks for tuning in 😍
It looks so crowded now. When we went to Taipei 101 in 2004 it is surrounded with open spaces with trees and park. Looks like a metal and stone city now. And when we went to CKS Memorial standing on the courtyard gave a feeling of tranquility and expanse of views but now so many eyesores of buildings blocking one's view. Price of over-commercialism.
歡迎你們來玩🤗
謝謝介紹Taiwan

what a great video, i hope you visit more places, like i guess Indonesia? i'll wait your video then..
Definitely want to visit, the country looks very beautiful.
Kiss and Ride is a pick-up and drop-off point outside the railway station for passengers. We have them in Canada outside the metro stations usually at terminus points.
Guys this video is phenomenal, got me wanting to go back.
thank you so much! We hope you can go back soon 😍
I'm Taiwanese, living in Kaohsiung. So glad you enjoyed trip here!! I am also left-handed, it's ok to use chopsticks with left hand. And it's really a saying that left-handed people are smart
😂
For high speed railway, because you don't have enough time. Actually you can just get on the train, no matter which car number is, and then walk inside the train to your car number and straight for your seats.😊
For "Kiss and Ride", actually that translation was been on the news before. 🤣 Because it's not normally use. It's means "Pick- up Area".
And for claw machines, it's depends on the owners of machines. Because some are rigged, and most of them have a guaranteed price. If you play (spend) it for the guaranteed price, and you can get it.
And Kaohsiung Ligh Rail, you can use your easy cards to take the light rail. It was still under construction at 2023, and all done this year.
watching here in Taiwan i love this video
哇,,你們把台灣拍的很美~~
I am Taiwanese. Taiwan is a democratic, free and beautiful country. Thank you for sharing your wonderful videos. 🇹🇼
Love to hear that! Thank you for watching 😍
I'm originally from Scotland but have called Hong Kong home for over 20 years now and in that time I've visited Taiwan at least a dozen times. My first few visits were all short paid work visits but even during those where I had limited time to explore and it was all just Taipei, I absolutely fell in love with Taiwan. The people are incredibly friendly and helpful, the food is delicious and - as I found when I did longer self funded vacation trips - the nature and hiking is really fantastic.
Taiwan for me is one of the most kind of under the radar gems for travellers.
The number of times people have said "oh yes Thailand is great" and I've had to say "no - Taiwan!" 🙄😂
@@ShevandDev 搭高鐵你們可以從任一門進入再找位子.不用一定要在3號門進去...才不會搭不上車...
You are wrong that Taiwan is not a country!
Strange, then what does this say? 中華民國
Love you guys❤

Yes Taiwan 🇹🇼 is influenced by Japan and South Korea since they r so close. U will see so much of anime and other Japanese and South Korean culture in Taiwan 🇹🇼.
it was so cool to see how much everyone loved anime haha we didn't expect that!🤩
sorry, but Taiwan is really not influenced by South Korea.
Japan has influenced Taiwan cause we got a period of history ruled by Japan.(50yrs)
thank you!

"Kiss and ride" is the area you temperarily park your car to drop and/or pick up someone. This is a common term used in the US. However, some have changed it to "cellphone lot".
Great video! May I ask, did you also take the drone shots?
Yes we take all of our drone shots 😍🤩

Taiwan is less known and less advanced than the representative countries of Asia - Japan and Korea - but I think it is a good place to travel! Affordable prices and friendly people!
Taiwan is far more advanced than we thought and it is entirely impressive 😍
