Try to go in the middle find you a tire that's right at 34 like a 295 60 20. Maybe enough to look good but still be really good off-road letting you have all your travel and rebound clearance. I'm not brand loyal but I like how you switched it up I think it was a good move.
I’m not a ford guy, I own only Chev HD’s , but all have been “tired up” My stock chrome 18” rims are 9” wide which is nice, I , after many hrs. pickin the right tire , was a Cooper AT3 with an aggressive sidewall , but super quite summer tread .Soft ride , no balance, 12” wide,35.8” tall !Speedo only reads 1 1/2 KPH slower. Perfect, filled the wheel wells & with “street flairs” 1 1/2” stick out looks like an aggressive “man’s” truck ! Your Ford does look good @ that height!
Just installed the Bilstein 5100's on my 2022 XLT 2.7. There is 5 settings for the snap rings. I went to the 3rd one. which says 1.26". It lifted the fronts 2.25" The truck is completely leveled out, which wasn't what i was looking to do. They are great shocks, but ya think they could get the measurements correct.
Same here. Had a shop install mine. Set on the 2" notch and it went up almost 2.75". It's too high for me. Wanted to maintain some rake for towing. Now I've gotta pay them to take it all apart to reset it and do the alignment again. Not too happy about it right now 😡
Great video. Not sure why the sockets keep swapping between standard and metric. All metric seemed to fit all my bolts - pretty sure Ford isn’t mixing these days
Thanks for putting together this video. I had a good alignment shop in my area replace the front upper control arms (bushings were cracked) and install new shocks (Bilstein 5100 with the adjustable leveling rings) a month ago for my 2011 F150 FX4. They leveled the truck, but It’s still slightly nose down, just not nearly as raked as it was from the factory. I then got new tires (Falken Wildpeak A/T4w replacing worn out Bridgestone Dueler Revo 2s of the same size) and had the truck aligned again to give myself a headstart on Houston potholes ( the camber is slightly negative). At low speeds and bumps, the new suspension and tires are great, but I'm disappointed in the highway driving performance. The truck requires a lot of driver attention to keep it on track compared to previously. I have to make small adjustments as if the steering is loose. It's tiring. Has anyone else had this issue when they leveled their F150 of this era with the Bilsteins?
Thanks for the video. I was wondering if the labor to do this job would tip the scale and would it be close to the same price to buy a new set of coilover’s ? I have no idea about pricing. Just a thought
As someone who has done more than one kit install, get a "Clamshell Strut Spring Compressor". It is worth the extra money and feeling of safety. Super easy to compress with a light impact.
A 10 wide wheel with 34 or 35 M/T would look good on this level. Not as much stance as the twelve wides but a 35 would let you fill up more wheel well. I did a 6" with a 35x13.50r24 on my 21 F150. 26k fun miles so far! Can't wait to see what you decide to do! 👍🏾
Have a 19 (Same truck as yours, color and all except with 3.5 Ecoboost Max Tow)- Fox by Roush coil over system 2.5” . I kept the stock rims and got 275 65r20 Cooper Rugged Trek tires which run big. (34.65x11.75) and it’s been flawless. Has taken all the abuse I’ve put her through. You’re going to love the new system. You won’t be disappointed. Edit: You’re going to lose fuel mileage tho, but who cares.
Love this color! I went with black on my 22 f150. I’m on a 2.5” level 295/60r20 Nitto recon grappler 20x9 +10 offset and I rub in reverse only turning left for some reason on the front crash bar. If I flex the suspension it’s really close to the front bumper so if you stay in stock wheels you should be good for off-roading and not rubbing.
just curious on the comment of keeping the use of 4x4 on the 6 ring, i just put these on my 24 rst at the 6th ring and have 4x4, never read up on anything that said it may be limited, i know different application but still, curious to that comment on how it would effect it
I know you're supposed to mark the alignment, is this strictly for ease of reinstall so the top bols line up? I had a 2" spacer there, I'm removing it now that the 5100's will provide that lift, but i'll have to rotate the assembly one direction or another in order to get the bolts to line back up. Not sure how I'm going to do it just yet...but wanted to make sure the spring itself or the top plate don't have to be oriented in a particular direction.
Hey man, love the setup I had a question though. Your front struts are 2 inch lift ones correct? And what are the rear? Are they 2 inch as well or are they only 1 inch?
The main reason is upgrading to better overall suspension, and depending on the mileage of stock suspension, pucks can wear them out quicker if not already worn. and then would have to take back off to replace, better to get new in my opinion!
Are you familiar with the RAS system? If so inhave that installed on my 2020 f150 4x4, and itbraised the rear by approximately 2 inches...donykunthink the last settimg would being it level or should i put it on the 2nd to last setting? Thank you
I run the 4600’s on my tayhoe. Biggest reason was im pretty sure the fronts were the same ones from the factory back in 2000 and it rode and handled HORRIBLE. Best money ive spent on the old pile thus far
I did the rancho strut assemblies and rear shocks on my '20 model in the front yard with a jack and hand tools 3hrs total and that was taking breaks and everything torqued to spec, it'll be a little more time with the billsteins having to disassemble and re-assemble the Ranchos were a complete setup
So you going to put Falken WildPeak A/T3W on this one? I'd really like to see what you think about those as it's my tire of choice for "on/off road" use tire. The level kit looks nice on the new truck.
What’s the ride quality like once you got some miles in and everything settled? Got a 2010 with max tow and I use my truck daily for my junk removal business.
I tried putting mine on tonight but failed. I can’t seem to get the sway bar end link free from the sway bar. Any tips? I beat on it with a rubber mallot more than id like to admit. I only had my passenger side lifted on a jack stand. Would it help lifting the entire front end? Any help is greatly appreciated!
My 2019 had 2.5" level kit up front and a 1" drop shackle in the back and i was running 305/40 22x12 -44 offset no rubbing I did cut off the crash bars and it looked amazing sat perfectly fine as well
How much does a level kit like this costs? Also, for those of us that are not handy enough to do some of these mods ourselves, what could a person expect to pay to have this installed? BTW I know these prices would be all over the board...
Unless every comment is the lucky winner for a prize, I think there is a scam going on replying to everyone in the comments. Otherwise, great video! My set of Bilstein 5100's just came in can't wait to install them.
There is a lot more aftermarket for newer Fords than newer GM. Owned GM all my life until 19. He can do Mustang intake which will let it eat to 8k+ RPM, and that’s just to start.
It's a truck, do not pull rear blocks!!! The higher the better and run 35s, they're only 33.5 on the truck, no tire is the size they say it is. Take 1" off any advertised height. Your 32s are only 31. Bigger is better!!!
I put 275/65R20 BFG ko2s on those same wheels and they come in at 34" with no rubbing issues. Looks and works great.
Try to go in the middle find you a tire that's right at 34 like a 295 60 20. Maybe enough to look good but still be really good off-road letting you have all your travel and rebound clearance. I'm not brand loyal but I like how you switched it up I think it was a good move.
Just get a 35” it’s cheaper.
Awesome video. Thanks for the detailed narrative with tools and size. Thanks for sharing!

Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLt's on my 2004 FX4. Best all-around tire out there, imo.
You are definitely comfortable around that spring compressor
I was thinking the same thing. I’d have had it facing to the side instead of aimed right at me while compressing and dismantling. 🫣

Tint the windows. Get a short antenna. Get black wheel well liners for the back tires.
Thanks for the video. I was wondering if the labor to do this job would tip the scale and would it be close to the same price to buy a new set of coilover’s ? I have no idea about pricing. Just a thought

Pull rear blocks. They are a little over an inch tall. Also put rear fender liners in. Make it’s not look so rear high as well
I did the same on my 2019 ram 1500 but it was Eibach. And ur right the ride quantity is so much better then the spacer. Glad I went the Eibach way
I have the 2.5 same truck and have used 4wd in rough conditions many times everything still works.
I also pulled my rear blocks to get the baby lean
Looking good, I can’t wait to see what you do with the front fascia
Do some 295/60/20.
They're right at 34x11.5 tire size.
It's almost perfect with a level.
Love this color! I went with black on my 22 f150. I’m on a 2.5” level 295/60r20 Nitto recon grappler 20x9 +10 offset and I rub in reverse only turning left for some reason on the front crash bar. I removed the front bumper lip on my 21’ F150 and it looks so clean, I recommend it.
just curious on the comment of keeping the use of 4x4 on the 6 ring, i just put these on my 24 rst at the 6th ring and have 4x4, never read up on anything that said it may be limited, i know different application but still, curious to that comment on how it would effect it

Why wouldn’t you retain full usage for the four wheel drive with the 2.5” level? Thanks in advance
Hey man, love the setup I had a question though. Your front struts are 2 inch lift ones correct? And what are the rear? Are they 2 inch as well or are they only 1 inch?
Great Job ! love the look...How much was total time- to do the front.?
Can someone answer why you would do all this instead of use the puck spacer? Pros and cons? Trying to understand.
The main reason is upgrading to better overall suspension, and depending on the mileage of stock suspension, pucks can wear them out quicker if not already worn. and then would have to take back off to replace, better to get new in my opinion!
Looks great, just curious though...I didn't see you put the bumpstop back on before the top hat, do you not reuse it?
Are you familiar with the RAS system? If so inhave that installed on my 2020 f150 4x4, and itbraised the rear by approximately 2 inches...donykunthink the last settimg would being it level or should i put it on the 2nd to last setting? Thank you
One last question, did you adjust the rear shocks or straight out the box “stock height” ?
I've got a 2018 F150 l'm going to use it as a daily do you think I should put these 5100 or go another route?
Looks awesome! I can’t wait to see what you pick for wheels and tires.
Did the “2.5” or in your case 3” loft settle a bit or did it stay the same as when you installed?
I run the 4600’s on my tayhoe. Biggest reason was im pretty sure the fronts were the same ones from the factory back in 2000 and it rode and handled HORRIBLE. Best money ive spent on the old pile thus far
Where you order yours from?
@@Heavychevy0402 shocksurplus
Dumb question, how did you jack up the truck? Couldn’t see jack stands or anything
I know that this is an older video. But. What about the upper ball joint angles. I’m looking to do that to my 23 powerboost. And do the 295 65 20.
How much did ride change with the fronts set to max preload?
I’m just gonna get my truck lifted 6 inches with a suspension lift kit, nice shocks though!!
Great job!!
I did some nice additions to my truck but still not sure if I want to do leveling
Finally when are you putting drop shakels on it?
Angles look actually way better than I thought!
Those bottom strut bolts you can use an air hammer to knock them out of the strut to make it easier to remove the strut.
Shop is telling me it will take 2 1/2 hours per side on the front to do. Does this sound accurate?
I did the rancho strut assemblies and rear shocks on my '20 model in the front yard with a jack and hand tools 3hrs total and that was taking breaks and everything torqued to spec, it'll be a little more time with the billsteins having to disassemble and re-assemble the Ranchos were a complete setup
So questions if you adjust the front to a lower level would the cvs still be pretty bad I know they won’t be factory but just wondering
So you going to put Falken WildPeak A/T3W on this one? I'd really like to see what you think about those as it's my tire of choice for "on/off road" use tire. The level kit looks nice on the new truck.
Any steering issues? Mine almost feels like it’s slightly binding when turning after the install
Get a Raptor Setup on marketplace to do some wheeling! the raptor 315/70/17 should fit nicely
Would love too put those on my 2014 4x4 stx king cab.what was the cost.
Those 5100s are great and should retain stock rideability or even better with better performance than stock
You need that all motor tune from this tuner in Houston he holds the fasted all motor f150 and you need that corsa muffler 🔥
My 2019 had 2.5" level kit up front and a 1" drop shackle in the back and i was running 305/40 22x12 -44 offset no rubbing I did cut off the crash bars and it looked amazing sat perfectly fine as well
Just curious , aren’t there torque specs for axle nuts ?
No, just snug up tight with a socket. Never use a impact
Yes, they're very low. I think for my 2012 it's around 20 or 30 ftlbs.
Never clicked faster
Same
What were the part numbers for the front shocks?
295/65r20 is biggest to fit with no rubbing and no spacers on a level. Do that with stocks
How much does a level kit like this costs?
Also, for those of us that are not handy enough to do some of these mods ourselves, what could a person expect to pay to have this installed?
BTW I know these prices would be all over the board...
this kit is 450$ and id say probably 200$ to have a shop put it on? I did this kit on my old 16 tacoma and if i remember it was around 200$ labor
35s w stock wheels for now and that will be a good off-roading setup for the truck
What size what the rear shocks? And front struts?
Fuel siege wheels would look insane. 20x10 on some 33s!! Wont rub and will look good
A big thing is tightening your UCA bolts up when the vehicle is sitting on its own weight.
The front is higher due to UCA being tightened at the lower travel position.
Either those stocks and yokohama geolander xmt or some methods with Baja bumpers and what not
Thanks for tge information. Great video
The side steps and front bumper lip gotta go aswell as mud flaps if u got em but take an inch out the back end
This truck gets better every video!
Yessiree! That’s the ticket! Beautiful
Looks good 🇺🇸
I’m running a 2” level with a 17x8.5 with a 315 70 17. A little trimming and it looks great
How are you cv angles
Cv angles really good!
A raptor inspired build I think would be cool maybe 🔥🔥
Does the rear shock add any height?
Unless every comment is the lucky winner for a prize, I think there is a scam going on replying to everyone in the comments. Otherwise, great video! My set of Bilstein 5100's just came in can't wait to install them.
What you mean by wanting to retain the 4x4 useage
why didnt you put the OEM JOUNCE BUMPER back on?
Usually put boots up so they don't get snagged by stuff on the trail. I'd check height again in a couple days, should settle some.
Raze. He put the rear shocks on correctly, the boots are on the bottom.
Boots down
I love your videos keep up the amazing work Chase!
Thanks!
A nice bubba truck setup would look so clean on this thing
Can't wait to see what's next but we are starting now
Should my 01 Silverado have enough torsion key lift to not scrub with 18×10 wheels with 275×75-18?? PLEASE REPLY ANYBODY NEED ADVICE!!!!
Everyone saying doing a 34x11 haven’t tried a 35x12.5.. it fits perfectly with no rubbing.
Do you know where the leak usually starts ?
When you tune it i'd definitely check out SSI tuning
How much more mods can you do on this then you couldn’t on the last truck?
There is a lot more aftermarket for newer Fords than newer GM. Owned GM all my life until 19. He can do Mustang intake which will let it eat to 8k+ RPM, and that’s just to start.
Too many to name
Hellion twin turbo kit bro
Looks really good!!!
As many times as you’ve done this now I’m surprised you haven’t gotten yourself a set of spring compressors
I’m a perfectly level fan not a 1/16 rake or a 1/16 squat just perfectly level lol. It’s hard to do though. Defiantly put some 35’s on the stocks
Looking right... But where's the tint?!
I think some nitto mud graps would look so damn good on this
Now it is time for some rear wheel well tubs to match the front
Looks good ole sun
Keep up the good work 👍.
35s on stock wheels will fit. That’s what I have on mine with 2.5 level.
It's a truck, do not pull rear blocks!!! The higher the better and run 35s, they're only 33.5 on the truck, no tire is the size they say it is. Take 1" off any advertised height. Your 32s are only 31. Bigger is better!!!
I put a 4 inch spindle on my 2014 F150 and upgraded the struts.
What kind of exhaust do you have
gonna look fire when some big tires are on it
Where did you buy this lift?
Well if your wanting to go with the off road look how about some 17x9 wheels an 33 or 35’s.
Tighten upper control arm bolts with vehicles weight on suspension at ride height...
Have Lund racing tune it, when it becomes available👍🏼
