Great content and info.........Thanks for sharing
Thanks. Happy Thanksgiving
After settling, how much rake did you end up with on the 2.5” setting? I have a 23 with max tow and still want to have a slight rake for when I’m towing occasionally.
Had these on my 17 for a year and they are so much nicer than stock.
Yeah I am a huge fan of what they do for the ride quality in every scenario they are put in.
I find my 2017 F150 rides like it's on stones. I can feel every crack in the road. Very stiff. I wonder it these would calm that down?
Your truck look good beefed up keep the videos coming bud!!! Love your content
Thanks!! Happy Thanksgiving
How did you get under the power module on the passenger side inner fender?
did you have to make any adjustments to the adaptive headlights or cruise control with this lift setup?
Thank you for the info. Unfortunately when UA-camrs speak to the camera with their face in the shot like a newscaster my brain shuts off so if you answered this question in the video I apologize for asking it, but how did the alignment go? Did you need to buy the lower control arm camber bolts that a lot of other videos talk about? Half the videos say you need them and the other half don’t even mention them? Thanks
When you installed the rear 5160’s - do you have any side to side play in the top connection? Installed mine in a 2018 and it’s torqued to 66lbs- but still have a mm or 2 play …. Nice truck!!!! Thaanks
Looks great! Thanks for sharing! Love the front dam modification. What tool did you use to trim it? Might do the same to my powerboost, don't think I can do it as clean as you did though.
Thanks. I used a Milwaukee M12 Hackzall. I’ve wanted one for a while and that cut felt like a good enough reason to go buy one. Worked awesome with a fine toothed steel blade.
I’m gonna do the 5100s in the rear and the 6112s in the front👍
Not planning on I do it all the time just stock bottoms out really hard these or fox 2.0
I have just purchased the same shock set for my ‘21 F150 KR Powerboost. You mention in your video that you ran into difficulty when replacing the passenger side front shock. I checked and it appears that the inner of the 3 nuts that secures the shock to the frame will be a problem getting at and removing due to a mounting bracket for the hi voltage cable above the shock. I would be very interested in hearing how you worked around this problem so I can be better prepared.
Hey Dan do you have any footage you can share on what you had to do to reach that third nut on the passenger side front shock?
@GearsGadgets so, now that its been awhile, any suspension tips for a 2023 powerboost? and what tires did you like?
Howdie, I have a 2022 Powerboost Lariat and would like to upgrade Bilstein 5160 on the rear first. Do you think a wheel alignment is need for only changing the rear shocks
How is your ride quality after the upgrade? I keep reading mixed results from everyone. I mainly drive roads with gravel roads here and there. Some people say they get a stiffer ride after adding these and some say it's improved and way better. Obviously it depends how high you lift the front as well.
It gets stiffer in a good way. The truck feels more controlled on bumps rather than bouncing around like crazy.
Hello! Cool looking truck! How did you get the bolt on the top in the back on passanger side? Did you remove the wire bracked?
Do you know if adding the Ford Performance kit will it affect my BlueCruise?
About to buy one of these powerboost would you still recommend them. Consumer Reports rated these tricks as unreliable. Looking to feel comfortable with my purchase. Thank you in advance!
Did u have to realign the sensors for the adaptive cruise control? I see it says on the description of the shocks
Great video. I’ve been waiting for this one. 👍🏻 I keep seeing comments in forums about how certain F150 suspension upgrades aren’t supported on the F150 PB. Any idea why some suspension setups aren’t supported? Is the Bilstein setup you selected officially supported with the F150 PB?
I think a lot isn’t supported simply because they don’t want people monkeying around trying to access around the high voltage wiring. I don’t know if the Bilstein setup is officially supported or not.
This Bilstein 6112 is not supported for the Powerboost because of the extra weight the PB carries over a comparable 5.0v8 or 3.5v6, hence why he didn't get the advertised lift here. Bilstein is coming out with a specific 6112 for the PB in the near future (so they told me a few months ago).
That’s a good looking truck! Just curious on what your seeing for fuel economy now? I’m looking into getting a powerboost for my next truck. I’m currently getting about 14 mpg with my 2016 3.5 ecoboost on 34’s with a leveling kit.
Why get a truck and worry about MPG
@@andrewhaynes09 buy a Prius
Which wheels are those? Also what size?
Do they make a comparable shock for the rear end that doesn’t have the reservoir? Not sure I need it for my application But want something to soften the rear end. Love the content!
Thank!! Yeah they have the 5100 and it’s much cheaper as well. You can get both for about $200.
Great video. Thanks.
Thank you!! Happy thanksgiving.
What are the size of your fuel rebel 6’s? Dia, size and offset?
Howdie, to achieve a true level look for the powerboost would you have to add a puck style spacer to the 6112? Would you recommend that for the leveled look or is typically a no-no in this application?
I think if you start considering that kind of scenario you should just start looking at an actual BDS 4”. If you do too much with a coil over lift plus spacers I think things would start getting kind of wonky.
the answer is yes. You can get a true level with a spacer and 6112. Is it something you should do? No. Is it ok to run a spacer with that kit? Yes. But to get a true level you will be stressing out other components. On my truck I wanted to run 34 inch tires without removing the crash bars or major trimming. So I run the 6112's on stock height and a 2.5 inch spacer. Only a minor trim on the air damn. Virtually unnoticeable. I do have just a slight rake but not much. Think there's around a 1/2 inch diff from back to front. IMO a slight rake looks and performs better then a true level anyway. Hope that helps
looks great! what size wheel and tire combo?
Ok just gotta say this. Never work on a loaded gun.
Is it overkill to use 5100 in the front and 5160 in the rear for stock height and city truck? No big tires either.
I don’t think it’s overkill.
@GearsGadgets thanks I really want them for the aesthetics
Makes me question motorcycle shock pricing.
That’s pricy considering the other options!
Nice! What kind of impact wrench donyou have? I am looking into one at the moment
Milwaukee M18 Fuel 1/4”. Love it.
Heard of this bilstein is very stiff and bumpy rough ride off road,,, is it true ???
I don't think its "Bumpy" but its also not a Hugh end reservoir shock (fronts) so they are "stiff" because they are intended NOT to blow through the travel and bottom out like factory "bouncy" shocks will. So they are absolutely better than stock but I think some of that criticism is coming from people who are expecting a much more high end shock out of an affordable option.
@@GearsGadgets affordable shock?? how to define?? nothing cheap anymore for those coilover stuff,,, every body asking for a thousand per pair,,, that's not even a reservoir coilover,, MAN,, the stupid fox price tag----$2500 for advance front reservoir coilover ??? and demand high cost service after 50k miles,,, I bet my money on eibach....
My opinion is IF you’re gonna lift your truck go BIG. I always do 4”-8” on a minimum of 37’s up to 40’s. That way Trail damage is unlikely unless you get very careless!
Fair but my problem with 4-6” lifts is then overhead practicality becomes problematic with home garage, parking structures, tree canopies, and makes using the bed much more difficult. Everything has its trade offs I suppose.
@@GearsGadgets once you wheel on some 38’s deflated and some Fox shocks, you’ll never go back. Used to have a SXS but got sick of eating dirt, broken belts and broken suspension parts. Only advantage to a SXS is it’s smaller size. I live in northern AZ and go off road every other weekend.
Wow
Heck ya ....
Thanks!!
Looks good though. 🤷♂️
What skid plate is that up front not sure if I missed it in the video?
Talons Garage. They make a pretty awesome kit
@@GearsGadgets Thanks! Wasn’t sure if it was Talons or RCI.
Planning on jumping my truck would these be good for stock 2016 f150
Did you remove your active air dam that comes down?
Yep
@@GearsGadgets Do you have a video showing how to remove the active air dam?
Nice shocks. You cost yourself MPG’s. 🤨
