- Today we renovated a historic Max Bode & Co. cast iron stove. Wien.
The company was founded in 1863 in Vienna.
Its owner was Karl Hermann Philip.
This company specialized in the production of cast iron stoves, ventilation grilles, safety chimney doors and the production of stove repair components.
In the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries, cast iron stoves were mainly made to order.
Such a stove was unattainable for ordinary people.
Industrial production only started in the second half of the 19th century, and many large companies were founded at that time, for example in Germany, France, the USA and/or Denmark.
During production, both the furnaces and the traction system were improved over time.
Many of us have a stove at home, and with the arrival of colder weather, we enjoy the pleasant warmth, for example, from a fireplace stove.

Ahoj Radek my good friend. When you were separating the different parts of the stove I couldn't see many parts that could be used again. You have the skills (and machinery) to make new parts when the original ones were so badly damaged. Well done Radek, a great restoration job and it was great to see more of you and Mona again. Меня собственно интересовала сама работа печки. Но по сути, это банальная буржуйка, красивая, чего уж там, но пожирательница дров. Мастеру за работу, уважение.
Что тут можно сказать......предки.....история....семья.... Это близко.это дорого.это тепло.....очень няшно.очень мило. Тут можно преклонится.отдать дань перед мастерами той эпохи которые придумывали конструкции таких печей.придумывали дизайн..... В словах невозможно выразить свое восхищение.Уже давно нет тех.кто создавал эту буржуйку тех кто грелся подле нее.а она жива. И уж коль нам не получается столько жить.то хотя бы вот этот свидетель того времени должен дальше жить и напоминать следующим поколениям как это было.кто он.откуда он появился и кто его пращуры. Помните.не забывайте.храните свою историю.берегите ее от вандалов.от разрушений.

Radek, you are a magician. Watching you taking this stove apart made me think of the trashcan. But you, my good man, took this pile of rust and created a masterpiece. Over the years I have watched you do some great restorations, but nothing like this. Congratulations to you and Veronika for creating one of the best videos I have seen. that's why it was a rebuild, not a restoration.
IIRC He did a massive hand cart once too or maybe it was a workbench. He is good at what he does.
@@thomasneal9291 Томас, Вы не правы. Например, когда Вам в автомобиле меняют некую деталь, Вы же не называете это перестройкой? Так и здесь детали выработавшие свой срок, заменены на аналоги. Т.е. в целом произведена именно реставрация всей печи, без изменения конструкции.

I really like the trick with clamping two wooden blocks against the flaps of the ash-tray to make the 90 degree bend. That was quite clever.

Карамелька, а может это семейный секрет? Если серьезно, то меня интересуют моменты, где оставляются детали вообще без покрытия, например, полированные детали (винты, особенно цветные металлы). Возможно, покрытие производится, но зрителям как бы знать нет необходимости. Что ответит Радек???
В конце концов, мы же наблюдаем за волшебным переформированием из грязи в объект рестоврации. Какие то процессы работы остаются за кадром. Ну, например, где мастер покупает новый материал, крепеж, масло для инструмента и т. д . Это мое мнение.

Zdravím Radku. Ten pavouk na začátku byl skvělý. Kamna to už měla za sebou, šamot v tahu, tělo kamen pěkně zrezivělé. Jen litina téměř v pořádku. Reikarnace úžasná.👍 Ten plech je nerez, nebo pozink? Výsledek stojí za to.

In the opening scene I knew two things, first that this stove was in horrible shape probably beyond saving and that when you were done it would be a thing of beauty. Both were proved true. Great job.

😮 Now that's what I call a stove. I know it looks like trash to eome, but to me it says I'm rebuildable. You have Always done such an AWESOME Job rebuilding a lot of items an have made so many new parts. It just always seem to find things I've never seen before. Sometimes that's hard to do. We use to many many mo9ns ago use ro go explore my GREAT Great Aunts Old Farm, you would be amazed at what all she had many items from her Grandparents an Great Grandparents. You always amaze me by coming accross many things I've never seen. Thank you for your passion. I really Enjoy the endings where you Have Your Beauitful Wife Nararating what i the Product is rather age and other things. I'm always in awe of your work. Thank you for sharing. ❤❤❤❤😊

Very cool to see griffons on the metal work! You don't see them much, you tend to see more dragons, unicorns, etc. I guess I am unique in that I like griffons more than dragons and other mythical creatures. The stove turned out really well and I hope it keeps you and your family warm this winter!

I knew the interior would have to be replaced. But the exterior as well, wow! The heater is an unusual straight tube style. Most in America were square or pot belly.
