Excellent job bringing the little mechanical calendar back to life! What's most impressive is the lighting, smooth photography and seamless editing. Even better: no odd or cutesy camera shots, no gimmicks, music, talking or subtitles. Perfect example of what a UA-cam restoration video 'should' look like. 10/10
My grandparents had one of these. Whenever we visited it was always a contest between my brother and I to see who would get to change the date each morning.
I rarely watch UA-cam videos through, I often just fast forward to see the end, however, I find you videos interesting, relaxing, and above all rewarding. Thank you.
Just found your channel, and love it!! Subscribed, & hit the bell. I love restoration videos, but I only subscribe to the ones that use sandblasting, and powder coating. You use both!!! Great job!!
I got it from my grandmother, but it was completely made out of plastic. When I was a kid it was kept behind a lock glass cabinet and I always used to wonder how the dates where changing. She never told me until I was 18, she used to change it every morning 😅😅😅😅. Fun years in the past, for sure!!!!
NO disrespect here; the gentleman’s skill set is beyond criticism. I only wish to inform viewers that adjusting the playback speed to 2x does not detract from the program, but saves 10 minutes of your time for more videos 😅
Please put a watermark! I found you through searching after seeing your content stolen on tiktok. A watermark would make it much harder to steal :) alternatively, your UA-cam handle on a piece of paper on the desk
I just checked. There are 2 other perpetual calendar restoration videos before this one but both of them were restored with the writing in English. My guess is that this guy found a bunch of the same calendar and made different videos showing different ways of restoring them. One of the previous ones, he made a wax mold to cast the decal on the front rather than laser etching
I have the one that sat on my Granddads desk, it was from his work and had his name embossed on the stand... he worked for National Life insurance as a door to door salesman in Flint, Mi. From the late forties to the late sixties. He retired in '69 and went on to do taxes for people who couldn't afford H&R Block.
The lazar is super! Glad you the proper thickness of filler. Most use filler that is too thin or thick and then sand to death. What language is on the calendar?
The laser really shows how the ancients made their stone work engravings on temples. I'll never believe humans carved it all by hand. It makes so much sense in comparison. The perfection matches.
@@t3rrortoff33 Perfection is perfection regardless the medium. You've missed the point. Granite pottery with precision measurements, isn't soft. There are oodles of hard rock examples. If you had lasers you'd use it on all medium you could and save time doing so. Stone temples, not wooden ones. Wood burns and rots. Monolithic structures again have perfection, almost like a leveling laser was used to map out a pyramids base, to perfect NESW with miniscule defect. Blocks quarried with 90 degree angles, fit so tight paper can't go in the cracks. Blocks of odd shape fit like a puzzle. What building medium of what hardness couldn't be cut by "Ancients?"
@ …….r u trying to be sarcastic? I simply asked a question. Why parrot it back to me? That was uncalled for. Ok, I guess I won’t watch anymore. My question was if you sold your restorations. Very simple question.

Ahhhhh! The simple gadgets of old days.
Thank you for making this very enjoyable and relaxing video.....
Everything about this was wonderful. Just the simple idea of the calendar is fascinating, and the restoration is exceptional.
And the award goes to PSV for this gripping, fascinating, satisfying video, what doesn't this guy know how to do? Bravo.
Amazing how you restored that perpetual calendar to working order. It looks much better than before and it works like a charm too. Excellent work.
Those lazer sounds are amazing
Wow, never seen a calendar like that before. Good job.
The machine that makes replacement items such as screws, wooden items and anything small is really cool. The paint machine is just as cool.
The laser etching is amazing! 😍
You are a genius.

Thanks
Wow the things you can do when you have so much time on your hands!

Amazing , they don't make quality stuff like this any more , which is a pity.
Definitely the coolest calendar I've ever seen.
Very satisfying restoration.
Thanks
Hello mister beautiful restoration beautifully restored good job well done
Thanks a lot
Trabalho Perfeito! ❤❤❤
Obrigado! 😊
Superb restoration ! 😊🇨🇦
Thanks
16:00 The laser carving looks so much like a lighting effect of some early '80s Scanimate TV ident 🤩
Amazing Craftsmanship and Restoration 👍🏻👍🏽👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
Thanks
Nicely done! 👍
Thanks

You're the second UA-camr to restore this
Yeah. I've seen it too.
I have one but with two knobs for the day/month. Glad to see how it works.
Even though it was in maybe Russian (that is my guess), I still enjoyed watching. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching! 😊

Awesome!

Amazing
That was a beautiful restoration!
The noise during the laser parts? Very much less so 😖
Only one word.....MASTER
That's cool 😎
Thanks
Not to distract from the success of the restoration, but what must this have cost in terms of labor? Wow.
👌👌👌
Haven't you restored this exact object in the past ?
Maybe it got rusty again...
Pretty sure this channel is full of artificially "aged" "restorations" good practice I guess, but kind of a slimy channel premise

“Wait, they had a perpetual calendar on the Titanic?”
12:10 that sounds like some crazy stuff, maybe dial up internet or a really messed up sound system.
Raycus 30 W

Lit looks no so perpetual... good job doh
16:58 what's that liquid?
How long did you bury it to get it looking like the start?
What is the liquid you put with the brush to turn the metal black?
The laser really shows how the ancients made their stone work engravings on temples. I'll never believe humans carved it all by hand. It makes so much sense in comparison. The perfection matches.
My brother in christ, this is metal while the "anchients" were doing it in soft stone, on much larger scales

Hi how's u nice restoring. Pls can u tell me which machine r u using for laser. I wana pls tell. How to get it

You're doing some good work but please buy some new carbides and oil.
If there's only 15 cards then what happens when you're on a month that has 31 days?

It has "Kharkiv" name. Ukraine. Interesting! The device, probably, from 1930-es.
