Today Nelson and I sit down and talk about all of the blocks that needed to be set for our slab because of our terrain on top of a mountain. We also had a failed inspection and we broke our water line to the cottage. All this and more in today's episode.

Love watching you two. It will get better I promise you. We just have two more short little winters to go here in Tennessee. You can’t find anyone to do any GOOD work anymore……..but they sure want their money……prayers for your family……keep your beautiful smiles.
This is one of the reasons it took us so long to start. Nelson was being extremely thorough when interviewing and selecting our contractors.

Hey the really big rocks are great landscaping too. You know what? I bet those poor people living down in that cute lil cottage will be so happy when you guys get this done. Oh yeah my favorite transformers are Optimus and BubbleBee. I let the kids play with the transformers though. I got tired of transforming those things. See, the things you were not told when you started this awesome journey, so that means you get experience all the lovely process. 😅😅😅 hugs 😊❤

Do you know the saying when it rains it pours? For you guys unfortunately it's been literal sounds like it's always been something that really stinks but at least you both can still smile. And once you get there it'll be well worth the wait sorry for all the setbacks hopefully it'll be done sooner than later. Wishing you the best of luck
Great video. I'm over this weather. I walked out one day in shorts because it had been in the 70's for 2 or 3 days I whipped right back in the house and said well oits winter time again. You guys are really moving right along. I wish we had underground wiring. That was a smart move. I live in Knoxville and there's no one I know of that has underground wiring. I can't wait until the next one. Thank you both.

I don’t live to much further east of you and yes we have had some horrible weather. When it rains it rains and it’s so soggy and we need so many days of sun just to dry back out again. You will get the house done in the end even with all the hiccups it will get done! Make sure all the sub contractors and contractors are licensed insured bonded and have a clean record with state. We have so many that lie about the license or give another one’s license it’s crazy! I’ve had a license and insured plumber that caused $10,000 in damage to my home and the paperwork that had the license on it. I didn’t check with the state that was a business license which you paid $15 for the county and the insurance he had was car insurance and that was it, he was actually not even a plumber was fired from one of the plumbing companies here in town and wasn’t even an apprentice plumber. It’s crazy what these Looney Tunes around here will do for money. Just be very careful because they are lurking around every hill! Can’t wait for the updates to come and the eventual move in date!

Yami, everything is coming along and your house is going to be beautiful. Sorry to tell you this no but I think you should fire your electrical contractor, find another one asap lol. I don’t think you should pay your last one either 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣. I think it’s lucky that both of you have great patience and have an awesome sense of humour. I know nothing about what you guys are doing or have to do because it’s all so different over there compared to here in Australia. I don’t know a great deal about building a home in general. I think you guys are going to be so happy when it’s all over and you’re all in your new home and settled. Yami I think you will be so happy when your little home is given back to you and you can then use it for your studio/craft room you won’t know what to do with yourself. Prayers for your family that now everything goes to plan and runs smoothly. Your children are going to love their cubby house, I think it looks awesome, it’s the best one I’ve seen.

I understand your frustration. We built our custom home years ago. It was a hilly area with clay. Of course my husband worked out of town and I was assigned to make sure things were going well. Lots of road blocks because of city requirements dealing with clay soil. Errors of builder not following architectural plans we paid good sum of money to have created.
But your beautiful home will be beautiful. I'm excited to watch your building.

Yep! The transformer was the base! I had that childhood. I was also the meeting point in the neighborhood.
We didn't have a transformer but a water tank it was long and we pretended it was our horse and would pile on it, giddie up. The stories around your dinner table must be amazing. Take care

You both have such an Amazing sense of humor.
Our place in GA they just buried the conduit in the ground and i had a issue with my lights going out months after cable company cut my wire and fixed it- i had to get it done all over again and i paid the $100 for the grey pipe to go over it, . In the ground there is moisture which gets inbetween the opening and knocks out the lights.That's only from the pole to the house- underground electrical can cost you $10,000 , it's very expensive!
It’s true, it can run very expensive. We lucked out with Nelson being an electrician (in his past life) 😉🙏🏼
What is the funny looking like half block purpose? I don’t think I have ever seen any shaped like that.
Those are the header blocks that are laid at the top edges so that when the concrete is poured, it goes down into the cavities of the blocks and then fills up to the top. Hope that makes sense! ☺️
Just think how wonderful it will be when you are in your new home! Will you use all of the big rocks you are finding to landscape?
We are definitely keeping the larger ones and hopefully we can use them in the landscaping.
