    I agree it seems "easier" then other puzzles and while I take your word for how satisfying it is sliding in and out. Imo you can just hear how satisfying it is as the drawers slide so smoothly in and out of the boxes. Just such a beautiful sound.

    It reminds me of knot maths,... You know there is only one loop and returns to the start. If you lined all the Matchbox lids the same way, you might be able to associate a number or word (+1 position & clockwise, -1 position straight)), and all add up to 0 movement and 0 or 360 rotation. Maybe? 😜 The knot videos are cool tho

      Sirios Star yes these are also rabbet joints but the way I have learnt these are still “technically” a type of lap joint, but I guess,yes, I should have said rabbet joint as this would be more accurate. Thanks for pointing it out and reminding me.

    • @siriosstar4789
      @siriosstar4789 4 роки тому +1

      the two joints are similar and i doubt that i would be able to create a clear distinction with words , hence my suggestion of viewing a photo or drawing of the two joints .
      A lap joint in most cases is where an equal amount of material is removed creating a flush surface on both sides.
      A rabbet joint also will have a flush surface on both side but the amount or depth of material removed is not equal.
      Cheers.

On your difficulty scale in this case I think you need to upgrade it to a three out of five at least you have an advantage over oh shit that is you do puzzles all the time we on occasion that makes them more difficult for us you have the advantage of experience as you have said many times .

    The puzzlemaster version apparently ships solved, which kind of ruins the fun of discovering the solution

      Some puzzles shouldn't be shipped solved, and this is definitely one of them. However, Matchboxes is pretty confusing and also pretty easy to take apart, so you can kind of look the other direction as you disassemble and it shouldn't ruin the puzzle too much.

      @@Mr.Puzzle that would be epic! If you could somehow do a video with the lock picking lawyer that would be amazing! I'll tell you what I'll do, I will personally go to the lockpicking lawyers channel and ask him for you.

    Suggestion - a little more time spent looking at the individual pieces before you start, so we can play along. Thanks.
