Hey family! Have you heard of the Kuba Kingdom before? Did you know that it has been described as one of the most sophisticated historical states in the same rank as the ancient Egypt and the likes? I hope you enjoyed this video. Let me know what you think in the comments. One love 🤩❤️

Wow, my grand father was taken from the Congo , in the 1800s as my Aunt describes, he wound up in Mississippi USA , he escaped slavery , and was acetpted in the Blackfoot Indian tribe , in which he married a Black foot woman , my grand mother. 😊
Hello thank you so much, I'm Oliver Micheal kwete, one of the royal family offsprings, I live in the USA. Thank you so much for doing the video and hope to see more of your work 🙏
I dont know if you'll respond but 1. you are very beautiful and 2. what accurate history can you share from Kongo regarding the great bantu migration that happened there, why it happened, how it it happened and when it happened. Cause ive always found myself mystified that there are so many words we share and across so many bantu languages (obivously i suppose lol but im ignorant lol) in Kongo and South Africa and i know nothing about this other than the bantu migration (which i found out through rumours and not even through historical fact mind you cause our history beyond colonial history isnt taught extensively cause its been lost at least here in SA). Im Zulu by the way. Please continue this series dont stop
Brother/sister, most of us from east, to central and southern Africa belong to the big and great bantu group of people. All our languages have their version of the suffix 'ntu' meaning 'the people'. We all share a similar culture and that is why we have very many words in common shared between our languages. All bantu cultures also have the unifying philosophy of ubuntu (I am because you are). I myself am a Kikuyu from Kenya. I don't know what your spiritual system is, but if you want to go deeper, look into our history as bantu people being the people of the bible - the modern day bible was actually plagiarized off our original bantu scrolls. This is not christianity, but rather our authentic culture and history with our creator (modimo, mwari, tata nzambi, so nini na nini, etc). Look up the channels of Robert Headley, Dr Temo Batho Bantu and Yah'nata Tshilombo.
Your channel is amazing, i'm doing research on the kongo empire, its origins and the powerful leaders and you have atleast given me a starting point😁... Oh and i didnt knke congolese women are this beautiful 🙈....i may need to plan a trip there
I really enjoyed this episode; it was very informative. Just out of curiosity, what’s the current state of the Kuba Kingdom? How and for what are they known today?
Glad you enjoyed! It’s still there and kingship is still maintained but it no longer functions as a separate state and many of its inhabitants have migrated to other parts of the country (DRC).
I like your video on Kuba Kingdom Kongo. Do you think that the models of leadership would work today in The Kongo and maybe Africa as a whole. The models of leadership that promote strong centralize government. Modern technologies. 21st century education. Engage neighbors in joint ventures. Regulates national and foreign businesses. Increase wealth for the bottom 70 percent of the population.
I think promoting centralised but inclusive leadership models would work. The Kuba Kingdom style is a very good one according to me, apart from the fact that Kingship was only a privilege of one clan. But also what I've observed is that a lot of the African countries' leaderships are centralised already despite the whole democratic facade they all put on. My point is that central governments have a lot of power in Africa. What I believe is lacking is the equal representation factor and transparency. I think it should be considered.
@Heru Behudety I understand your frustration. But Africans believe these things because they've been passed on from one generation to the next. Change is going to come one step at a time and the more we promote the things that once made Africa unique, the more the generations after us will grow to appreciate them.
@@CongoTalks243 hello. I agree with you about the equal representation and transparency. I also agree with you about the inclusive . However would you agree that the people have to support the leadership sometimes when we don't agree with everything they do. Example former Kongo President Joseph Kabila said that the Congolese citizens were mad at him because he didn't speak good enough French.... not Kikongo, not lingala not, not Tshiluba not even Swahili. Yes the leadership has to do better - but average Congolese gonna have to do better also. Would you agree? I do like your video. That makes me think rationally.
@Heru Behudety hello, I understand your frustration. I think that your frustration is normal. However we are looking for ways to move past this and create a new future.
Reese Goldess I believe average Congolese people have to do better too yes. And they will do better when they know better. A couple of years from now I would sing praises of anyone who speaks French too but knowing what I know now, I cannot. Average Congolese people in Congo are still at the stage where they are either uninformed or misinformed about our history. If they truly knew how French came to Congo like the rest of us now know, they would value our languages more. My problem with Kabila is that he knew what the problem was but he did very little to fix it. In the time of Mobutu (despite all his wrong doings), there was a sense of national pride because Mobutu made actual efforts to give value to African culture and ways of life. So yes, I agree we the people need to do better but the leaders have to promote knowledge through the availability of accurate information.

Wow, fascinating! Cuba , we understand is a Taino Indian word from the indigenous people of Cuba in the Americas where my family is from. A shared word- it does happen in the world, sometimes it's a coincidence and others it's a historical meeting of two worlds. I didn't how sophisticated Kuha was. I know the Yoruba were very, very sophisticated. The Ifa system is a very complex and sophisticated system.
I couldn’t help but notice the similarity between Kuba and Cuba as well! I’m not very informed on the Yoruba but I’ll definitely look into learning a bit about Nigeria sometime. Thank you for watching!
What does KUBA has to do with CUBA. Human beings always try to look for similarities between unrelated stuffs. Concerning YORUBA, we the bantu has nothing to do with west Africans. This is a bantu history. Apart from the same skin color we have nothing in common

This kingdom is underrated especially as their history is arguably the oldest in DRC.
